Pop sensation Dua Lipa announces additional dates for her worldwide Radical Optimism Tour, which includes two nights at Madison Square Garden in 2025, on September 17 and 18.

To the younger pop-consuming generations, three-time GRAMMY and seven-time BRIT Award winning global pop sensation Dua Lipa needs no introduction. Since signing a record deal in 2014, she’s released hit after hit. Her fifth overall single “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” became her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 at 72, followed by her self titled first album that became her first ever number one in the UK, and the first female solo artist to top that chart since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015.

The band formed in 2013 in El Paso, Texas and are made up of lead vocalist and electric guitarist Greg Gonzalez , drummer Jacob Tomsky, and bassist Randall Miller. The band explores a celestial soundscape using a unique approach to the dream pop genre.
The trio blew up internationally in 2016 when their first debut EP “I.” launched. Their music enters an ethereal and dreamlike haze that’s soothing and romantic. Best known for top hits “Apocalypse,” “Cry,” “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby” and “K.” Their songs include riffs of the guitar, a steady drum beat and synthesized swells which creates a sound you could almost fall asleep to.
Their lyrical composition is drawn heavily from Greg’s personal memories and allude a cinematic and emotive response. Each song describes moments of romance and the feeling of falling in love. Similar to a black and white melancholic film with a lingering sadness that reminds us of our past.
Cigarettes After Sex beautifully allows their audience to connect with them on a deeper more personal level. The atmosphere of the show was full of people who could relate to one another emotionally and connect to another’s experience.
The band continues to amaze their fans and fulfill the hope to bring forward ethereal, imaginary and a calming space to soothe their audience. As of recently, the ambient band released their third studio album “X’s” this past July including three singles Tejano Blue, Dark Vacay and Baby Blue Movie. Pentatonix have announced the dates for their 2024 holiday tour: Hallelujah! It’s A Christmas Tour. Pentatonix’s holiday tradition returns for the third year with their biggest Christmas tour yet. They will play at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 26, in Albany on Nov. 16, and in Buffalo on Nov. 23.
Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee make up the three-time Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated quintet, Pentatonix. They have announced a 2024 winter tour going from Nov 14 to Dec 22. The group will hit three venues in New York; Madison Square Garden, MVP Arena in Albany, and KeyBank Center in Buffalo.
Since emerging in 2011, the vocal quintet has reached unprecedented rights for an a cappella group. They have sold 10 million albums worldwide and have performed everywhere from The White House and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to The Hollywood Bowl. They have had two albums hit #1 on the Billboard 200—Pentatonix [2015] and A Pentatonix Christmas [2016]. They made history as the first a cappella act to win ‘Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella’ at the Grammys in 2015 and 2016. and again they won a Grammy in the category “Best Country Duo/Group Performance”for their duet with Dolly Parton on her song “Jolene.”
The group has played at many world-renowned venues and for world-renowned people such as The Kennedy Center Honors for Tom Hanks, covering “That Thing You Do” as President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama watched from the crowd. They have also collaborated with Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, and Lindsey Stirling, to name a few.
They played a role in the film Pitch Perfect 2, and in 2023, received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Pentatonix will also star in the upcoming Netflix holiday romcom, Meet Me Next Christmas.

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, have released “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” recorded by Bob Dylan and The Band live at Madison Square Garden, on Jan 30, 1974.
From Dylan’s first tour in 8 years, The 1974 Live Recordings is a collection featuring every professionally recorded show from Bob Dylan’s 1974 arena tour with The Band. The complete recordings are out on September 20 celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s return to touring that year. Bob Dylan and The Band performed 30 dates in 42 days for that tour to an average audience of 18,500.
The collection features 417 never-before-heard versions of some of Dylan’s most beloved songs, as well as some of his lesser known songs. Nearly all the recordings were not included on the original live album Before The Flood. The 1974 Tour was captured on a stereo soundboard mix, on both 1⁄4” tape and cassette.
The collection will be available as a deluxe box set across 27 CDs, and includes 133 recordings newly mixed from 16-track tape, and every single surviving soundboard recording – along with new liner notes by journalist and critic Elizabeth Nelson. Jack White’s Third Man Records has announced the release of The 1974 Live Recordings – The Missing Songs From Before the Flood, a 3-LP / 1 x 7-inch set culled from the same recordings, featuring versions of every song Bob Dylan recorded that was not included on the original 1974 live album. The set will be available through The Vault on Colored Vinyl.
Ahead of Dave Matthews Band induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, the band has announced a Fall Tour. They will hit many big cities on the eastern half of the country including Madison Square Garden on Nov. 22 and 23.

Since 1993 when Dave Matthews Band’s first studio album was released, they have been a power house in the rock world selling 38 million CDs and DVDs. They have also sold over 25 million tickets since their birth making them the second largest ticket-seller in history. After the group’s 2018 album Come Tomorow, they became the first ever band to have 7 consecutive studio albums hit number one on the Billboard 200.
Dave Matthews Band released a new album, the first in five years, Walk Around The Moon in 2023. The album has been praised by many publications and the band has supported it with many concerts and tours since its release. Most recently, they played their traditional Labor Day weekend concerts at The Gorge in Washington state. They will arrive in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Nov 22 and 23 closing out the six planned dates to take place in November.
Dave Matthews Band will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 19 in Cleveland, OH. The induction ceremony will stream on Disney+, and will be released on Hulu the next day.

Nigerian star Asake roared into New York Friday night for his debut at Madison Square Garden with a show in support of third and latest album, “Lungu Boy.” Asake is promoting his third album, titled Lungu Boy which is out now via EMPIRE/YBNL Nation and features appearances from Central Cee, Ludmilla, Stormzy, Travis Scott, and Wizkid.
In the lead-up to the release of ‘Lungu Boy,’ a lot of the chatter around the project hinted at Asake introducing the world to Lagos Island and the quirks of its subculture, in order to contextualize his stunning rise and his stage design and presence did just that. The evening started with a narrating explaining the experience that the crowd was going to set on with none other than Asake himself. The show opened in spectacular fashion as Asake ascended from beneath the depths of Madison Square Garden. The performance had everything from pyrotechnics to choreographed dances and visual effects.
His set Friday night at New York’s Mecca, Madison Square Garden — his debut MSG performance— saw him backed by a full band, street dancers, DJ and MC, including horns, to bring his jazz-influenced sound into a live setting. Clad in between two outfits show off his unique wardrobe style, he performed cuts from the entire album such as “Active” featuring Travis Scott, “Wave” featuring Central Cee, “Skating” which saw an elaborate display of skating and BMX biking tricks and more from the album.
In addition to performing songs from his new album on the Lungu Boy tour, Asake also performs tracks from his 2022 studio debut, Mr. Money With The Vibe(“Terminator,” “Peace Be Unto You,” “Muse,” “Joha,” “Sungba”), and its 2023 follow-up Work Of Art (“Amapiano,” “Basquiat,” “Lonely At The Top,” “Remember” and “2:30”).
In the end, it was hard for the crowd to fathom the electric show ending and even harder for Asake himself.
In true Asake fashion, he left the New York crowd with a night that they will never forget, the Lungu Boy from Lagos Island.
Glass Animals transformed Madison Square Garden into a surreal, psychedelic dreamscape on Tuesday, August 13th, delivering a performance that will be etched into the minds of fans for years to come.
The energy in the venue was electric from the moment the lights dimmed, with a sold-out crowd buzzing with anticipation. As the band took the stage, the roar of the audience was deafening, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.
The setlist was heavily focused on tracks from their latest album, I Love You So F**ing Much*, with the band seamlessly blending these new hits with their classic tracks. The crowd erupted as they launched into “On The Run,” the funky beats and infectious rhythm perfectly encapsulating the essence of the album. Every song was met with an explosion of cheers, but it was “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” that really brought the house down, with fans singing along to every word.
The creative visuals of the set were nothing short of spectacular, adding a whole new dimension to the performance. A holographic pineapple, a nod to their iconic imagery, hovered on the stage, rotating slowly and casting vibrant, multicolored lights across the venue.
The real showstopper, however, was the Saturn-like planet that levitated above the band, spinning gracefully and seemingly defying gravity. The ethereal visuals, combined with the band’s high-energy performance, created an otherworldly atmosphere that left the audience mesmerized.
The interplay between the band and the crowd was palpable, with lead singer Dave Bayley frequently interacting with the audience, feeding off their energy, and encouraging them to dance and sing along. It was clear that the band was having as much fun as the fans, with their infectious enthusiasm spreading throughout the arena.
As the night drew to a close, the band returned for an encore, ending with a stunning rendition of “Heat Waves.” The entire venue was bathed in a warm, golden glow as the crowd swayed in unison, their voices joining together in a powerful chorus. It was a perfect ending to a night that felt like a celebration of music, creativity, and the unbreakable bond between Glass Animals and their fans.
Madison Square Garden has hosted countless legendary performances over the years, but last night, Glass Animals carved out a space all their own, leaving a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to be there.
While the origin of Phish is firmly rooted in Vermont, the band’s history in neighboring New York runs almost as deep. The band made the slow and natural progression from private parties and gigs at frat houses, to small clubs and theaters, later graduating to full scale amphitheaters, to now selling out Madison Square Garden on a regular basis. Phish may have been born and raised in the Green Mountain State, but its more recent history is firmly entrenched in the Empire State.

It took a few years after the band’s inception, but Phish finally waded into New York waters in 1987 with a now-legendary show at Ian McLean’s Farm in Hebron, NY on August 21, 1987 with three sets of music that included the first known performance of their cover of “Hold Your Head Up.” Phish would continue to make New York a regular part of their touring schedule in the early ’90s, with 1992 featuring more NY shows than any other year to date.
Lower show totals would follow in the late ’90s and early aughts as the band started to tour globally and play shows all throughout the country. But the “3.0” era of Phish has seen an influx of NY shows, primarily due to the renovations done to Madison Square Garden which has made The World’s Most Famous Arena the band’s preferred choice for multiple night New Year’s Eve runs. And the modern day pinnacle was set in 2017 with Phish’s legendary Baker’s Dozen Run of thirteen shows over three weeks which served as the foundation for “17 (shows) in ’17” at MSG which also included a 4-night New Year’s run.
In 2023, Phish came fairly close to matching this number with 14 shows spread throughout New York State which included another 11 at MSG. To date, Phish has played 288 total shows in The Empire State, so NY show #300 is certainly on the horizon.

British pop icons Duran Duran joins the macabre for an all-night Halloween party at Madison Square Garden. On October 31, the band returns to New York City for the Danse Macabre Halloween Party and encourage fans to dress up and go all out for a night of electrifying, spooky fun.
Madison Square Garden’s Danse Macabre Party originally began during their 2022 tour on Halloween night as a once-fabled Duran Duran show come to life. The party featured new music, concept art, and themes for the band, now compiled in a full new album, Danse Macabre. In the two years since the first concert, it has become a highly anticipated annual tradition. Lifelong fans and newcomers alike head to MSG for fresh, spooky music Billboard calls “delightfully devilish.”
Along with a night in New York City, Duran Duran has announced an official North American tour starting in October. The tour will take their new album across the American Northeast, with an earlier stop in Verona, NY. The final show will take place on November 2 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Bob Dylan’s 1974 Tour marked his first time touring live in eight years and reunited him with The Band, who had become widely renowned in their own right since backing the artist nearly a decade earlier. Booked into arenas for the first time ever, Bob Dylan and The Band performed 30 dates in 42 days (often playing two sets per day) before an average audience of 18,500, helping set a new standard for what rock concerts could look and sound like. And in front of those crowds, they brought an energy that Rolling Stone’s Ben Fong-Torres described as “searing and soaring, unified and precise…excellent in itself.” Music critic Robert Christgau compared the sound to Bob Dylan “running over his old songs like a truck.”
Tour ‘74 kicked off Jan. 3, 1974, at Chicago Stadium, the largest indoor arena in the world at the time it was built, with a tense and combative rip through the ultimate deep-cut “Hero Blues,” an acoustic-gone-electric outtake from The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan sessions that he had scarcely performed before or since. Additional rarities, like a wildly reinvented “Ballad of Hollis Brown,” “Song to Woody” (not performed since 1962) and Planet Waves outtake “Nobody ‘Cept You,” would be well received on the tour’s first nights. “We were booed off of every stage in Europe,” The Band’s Robbie Robertson recalled to Newsweek of their previous run together. “What happened tonight in Chicago is so reassuring for us.”
The reception wasn’t the only thing that had changed since Bob Dylan and The Band last toured together in 1966. Since then, The Band had released six LPs, played Woodstock and other famous stages, and recorded a series of historic sessions with Bob Dylan, from The Basement Tapes to Planet Waves. For his part, Bob Dylan had effectively retired from the road altogether following a 1966 motorcycle accident, yet was still “widely regarded as the most influential and significant star in the last 10 years of American popular music,” according to The New York Times.

Though they might not have known it at the time, Bob Dylan and The Band were at the vanguard of a new era. Tour ‘74 would help create the template for the major rock tour and codify many of its shared experiences, from the sight of audiences holding up lighters en masse (as captured in the iconic cover image for Before the Flood) to the bright flash of the house lights during a show’s signal moment, in this case, their performance of “Like a Rolling Stone.” Likewise, many songs performed live for the first time on Tour ‘74—”All Along the Watchtower,” “Forever Young” and the show’s eventual opener-and-closer “Most Likely You Go Your Way (and I’ll Go Mine)” —would take on a life of their own.
At the outset, the 1974 Tour was captured on a stereo soundboard mix on both 1/4-inch tape and cassette. By the tour’s end, Asylum Records’ David Geffen had commissioned recordings on multitrack tape, the standard at the time, for eventual release on Before the Flood. The 1974 Live Recordings includes it all—the cassettes and 1/4-inch tapes and the shows that were recorded on 16-track tape, newly-mixed for this collection.
