Former NFL pro bowler and NY Giant tight end Darren Waller continues his post-retirement musical journey with a new single and music video featuring Westside Boogie. The inspiring track explores themes of personal introspection, blending vulnerability and memories of self-doubt to create a strong message of growth and self-discovery. Additionally, Shady Records artist, Westside Boogie, chimes in with his own moment of self-reflection to top off the emotional record. Similarly, the music video is therapeutic in its presentation, with Waller rhyming his verse as he solemnly raps his verse.
Getting Boogie for this record was really organic, thanks to a mutual connection from my high school basketball days. As an artist, he’s incredibly versatile and vulnerable, which made him a perfect fit for the record. We’ve both found success and joy in a lot of areas of our personal lives, but we’re still looking for the answers to our deepest questions.

All in all, Waller has been using his newfound career as a music artist as a form of therapy, The new song follows Waller’s Internal Warfare: This Too Shall Pass EP, which dropped last month. Inspired by a year of significant transformation, the EP takes an in-depth look at personal and professional highs and lows he experienced. Moreover, earlier this year, Waller also released On Notice: Bag Talk EP, showcasing his artistic versatility, and Mind Games: It’s All In Your Head EP, which touches on Waller’s decision to retire from the NFL.
Since calling it quits, the former NFL star has dropped a number of viral records including “Who Knew (Her Perspective)” dedicated to his ex-wife, Kelsey Plum of the Las Vegas Aces. After being drafted into the NFL in 2015, waller began exploring music, inspired by his great-grandfather, the iconic jazz pianist Fats Waller. While music initially took a back seat to football, Darren made his musical debut in 2021 with the project Delusions of Clarity. Following that release, Waller received a placement on the official Madden NFL soundtrack in 2023.
Spafford has just announced the first details of their 2025 Spring Tour which comes on the heels of an extensive winter run set to start later this week. The much anticipated run includes stops at iconic venues throughout the Northeast and will feature special guest The Jauntee on select dates. Spafford Spring Tour includes two New York dates as well. The second stop of the tour will be in Saratoga Springs on March 14 with a show at Putnam Place. Four days later the meteoric jam band will visit Buffalo Iron Works on March 18.
The tour also features a first time visit to the ski-mecca town of Killington, VT with a show at the Pickle Barrel. It later wraps up with a three-night residency at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA, from April 3-5.

On a fateful Thanksgiving Day in 1965 in a Norman Rockwell town in Massachusetts, events began to unfold which would alter the life course of Arlo Guthrie in unexpected ways. He documented his story in a finger-picked folk song with the well-known chorus, “You can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant.”
What starts as a kind-hearted gesture to take out the garbage for friends Alice and Ray on Thanksgiving turns into a humorous romp through legal and bureaucratic systems, with a punchline about being deemed ineligible for the Vietnam War draft. Lasting in excess of 18 minutes, “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree” filled up an entire side of Guthrie’s first album. He never expected it to gain any airplay. However, in the politically-charged climate of late 60’s and early 70’s, the song became an anthem for war draftees and protesters.
The 1969 film Alice’s Restaurant features some of the people who were involved in the events, including a cameo by Alice Brock, who is immortalized in the song’s title. Radio stations began to play the song every year on Thanksgiving, a tradition that continues half a century later.
Today, Guthrie operates the Guthrie Center, which promotes cultural and spiritual experiences. The Institute is located at the church featured in the iconic song, and remains a pilgrimage destination for fans around the world.
Two years after her passing, we finally have a bio of Fleetwood Mac’s beautiful songstress.
Also an artist and sculptor, Christine McVie was a master at crafting sunny seventies perfect pop songs despite experiencing quite a bit of loss through life and despite her leanings towards blues in her early days as a musician in London. In contrast to some of her band mates known for their songs infused with the pain of relationships ending, Christine’s songs predominately were about the hopes and joys of love. The official video of Love Shines from the 1992 album 25 Years – The Chain; Fleetwood Mac’s 50 Yearsis a perfect example of that.
Over My Head, from their 1975 self titled album was the song played on American radio that really brought Fleetwood Mac to our attention in a big way after various line-up changes and started Fleetwood Mac’s quick ascension up the charts and into history as one of the world’s favorite and best selling bands of all time; a song she was quoted as saying was in part, about Lindsey Buckingham. By 1977 they would be the biggest band in the world.
Starting with Chicken Shack in her teens during the 60s, Christine had to endure traveling and playing in some pretty seedy places in the UK and Germany first. Paying off, it earned her 1969 and 1970’s Female Vocalist of the Year in a Melody Maker Reader’s Poll.
Some speculate that the sublime Songbird, perhaps her best known and signature song from the Rumours album, may have been about her mother and processing loss. This song is said to have come to her in a flash of inspiration, she had said frequently that she had no idea where it came from, but that it was an almost spiritual experience, having been delivered to her. If listening to the song now with that perspective, the song does take on an almost spiritual and very emotional meaning.

To many, Fleetwood Mac had the coolest existence; their excessive appetites and habits are legendary; they lived together at some pretty interesting manor houses over several countries while making albums, some of which were reputed to be haunted. Musicians who come from nothing and rise beyond their wildest dreams are fascinating to read about.
The author’s lively language is engaging and indicative of the friendship she had with Christine McVie, along with her extensive knowledge of the music scene of the 1950s to the 1970s in London. Christine had also been speaking about writing a memoir, but it was not to be before her passing. The author, Leslie-Ann Jones has been featured on television music documentaries, and has also written biographies of John Lennon, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury.
In this book, many often overlooked details of Christine’s solo work are discussed, such as her 1985 cover of Elvis’s Can’t Help Falling in Love for the movie A Fine Mess.
As the author had personal access to Christine over the years, the book has first hand knowledge of areas of the musician’s life that fans will find interesting. Credited many times as being the peacekeeper of the band, except for one episode of violence, the details of that scenario at Christine’s house are laid out. Photos of her English manor house and the renovation project that Christine embarked on after being in the states for 28 years, as well as how she spent some of her free time and with whom she socialized, show another side of her creativity.
Little known details of Fleetwood Mac’s dynamics and betrayals are included to delve into; the difficulties in being married to someone in the same band as her for example.
Before being interested in John McVie, Christine had first been enamored with Peter Green, who unfortunately dealt with the consequences of imbibing hallucinatory substances.
Christine has been on record for stating that Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys was the love of her life, and that ill-fated romance and her reaction upon learning of his death are detailed here in Christine’s own words, as well as the songs she wrote about him.
Fleetwood Mac was a group of creatives who made music magic. As we continue to mourn the loss of a gifted musician and songwriter, her legacy is her music being with us forever and continuing to be loved by newer generations.
Green River Festival has announced the first headliners and musical acts to be featured in their 2025 lineup. Included among the top artists are Courtney Barnett, Futurebirds, Mt. Joy, and Waxahatchee
Originating as the Upcountry Balloon Fair and local radio station WRSI’s anniversary celebration before merging into the event so many know and love today, the Green River Festival was born of uniquely local roots. Merging in the following years and donning the moniker recognized today, the Festival has grown into an event recognized by the New York Times as one of “fifty essential summer music festivals.”
Featuring a powerful lineup of over 40 acts across four stages in addition to local beverages, bites, handmade crafts from The Makers Market, and a wide variety of children’s activities, the festival is an exciting annual celebration of music and community from Greenfield locals to international names.
Returning for its 39th year, the festival will grace the Franklin County Fairgrounds once more on June 20, 21, and 22. Fresh off of the presses, the first of Green River Festival’s 2025 acts have been announced.
The first headliner comes in the form of Mt. Joy, a Philadelphia and Los Angeles-based indie folk band that have made quite the name for themselves with three remarkably acclaimed albums over the past six years with multiple singles that have reached #1 at AAA Radio and amassed millions of streams to boot.
One of Australia’s most successful internationally performing musical acts and Green River’s second headliner is Courtney Barnett, a deft lyricist and virtuosic guitarist. With a nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammys, several accolades, and five albums under her belt including her iconic 2015 debut Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit and collaboration with Kurt Vile Lotta Sea Lice, Barnett’s set will not be one to miss.
Waxahatchee is Green River Festival’s third headliner, as well as Katie Crutchfield’s musical moniker in which she has explored several genres as a Grammy nominated singer-songwriter. Spanning sounds from lo-fi folk to alternative country, Crutchfield is unafraid of experimentation and has embraced it time and time again over the course of her six critically acclaimed albums.
Southern musician MJ Lenderman got his start as a guitarist in Asheville, North Carolina self-booking tours for his own works and the group Wednesday. After his third solo album, Boat Songs, suddenly caught traction, folks were waiting with bated breath for his next release which would come in the form of Manning Fireworks, 39 minutes of introspection and rusted-wire guitar solos that indie rock fans are sure to enjoy.
Singer-songwriters Julien Baker and TORRES have teamed up for a tour-de-force project that melds their sound from indie-rock to country. Julien Baker, recognizable to most as one-third of the indie powerhouse unit Boygenius alongside Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers, is noted for her personal lyrics and vulnerable delivery floating above everything from just piano and guitar to keyboards and a rhythm section. TORRES’ raw vocals and insightful lyrics are sure to pair perfectly with Baker’s work, introducing folk, electronic, and rock influences to the project.
In addition to the event’s leading names, 2025’s lineup so far includes instrumental trio LA LOM, reggae and hip-hop lyricist Kabada Pyramid, psychedelic funk trio BALTHVS, indie-folk duo Ocie Elliott, roots music icon and western Mass fan favorite Kathleen Edwards, and progressive American roots fusion unit Futurebirds.
Performances can also be expected from the self-produced award-winning guitarist, songwriter, and band leader Grace Bowers (who’s achieved such feats at only 18 years old), Zella Day, Jesse Woods, and Beau Bedford uniting as Chaparelle to highlight Country’s golden age, energetic roots duo AJ Lee & Blue Summit, storytelling folk artist Olive Klug, and folk/country singer-songwriter Merce Lemon.

Rock unit Louisiana Child has released their debut single, a gritty Old West and rock ‘n roll fusion track titled “Cocaine Cowboy”.
Louisiana Child is a gritty powerhouse of a rock unit based out of Toronto that blends the kick of southern rock, the swing of blues, and the tone of country into a dynamic sound of foot-stomping and head-banging that leaves a long-lasting impression full of raw energy.
Comprised of Daniel Theriault on vocals and guitar, Ricky Theriault on drums and backup vocals, Jean-Marc Lanteigne on lead guitar, and Chris Moore on bass, Louisiana Child is currently working away on their debut EP in collaboration with seasoned producers and mixing engineers George Panagopoulos and Mark McCaster, the former being widely recognized for his work with Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the legendary producer Rick Rubin. These music industry powerhouses bring a wealth of expertise and experience to Louisiana Child’s already promising sound.
The first product of the project to go public and Louisiana Child’s debut single comes in the form of “Cocaine Cowboy,” a hauntingly gritty track that follows the internal battle of a man facing his demons.
Painting the image of a haunting Old West setting through rounded blues-y guitar tones, a sharp country-tinged vocal punch, and lyrics that tell the tale of a lone vagabond, Louisiana Child explores the concepts of temptation towards things that are inherently destructive, namely drugs and alcohol.
Mastered by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, “Cocaine Cowboy” marks a promising beginning for Louisiana Child, establishing a distinct sense of storytelling and carefully crafted sound as they enter the rock scene with a bang.

Ari Joshua is on a mission to release 24 songs in 2024. Over the course of the last ten months, the South African-born, now American-based songwriter has been consistently releasing these singles, some of which contain multiple tracks and several stand-alone remixes. Each release features a unique line-up of all star musicians, including members of Trey Anastasio Band, Medeski Martin & Wood, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Ari who shined a light into his musical process, spoke on his luminary collaborators and opened up about navigating the music industry and the world he has dedicated his life to.
“I’m super honored to be at the point in my career where I can share all the art I’ve been making. When I think about my art and the message that I want to give with it – something from the soul – it reminds me of creating an organic garden, planting seeds, and harvesting foods. If you scale it out one can imagine being an artist today is like sending a rocket ship or a satellite into orbit. I feel like once you’re in orbit as an artist, or once your seeds are harvesting fruits, you can feel like you are achieving your job – each note, each song, has the potential to propel things further. In a way all the legends are in orbit. In order to get up there, to resonate with listeners, you need a tremendous amount of fuel, and it’s a full time pursuit to manifest that.”
That need to resonate through the music inspired Ari to found The Music Factory, a Seattle-based music school giving lessons to hundreds of kids each week. He is a huge proponent of music education and has continued to grow the school since its inception. Ari has found himself at a point where he is able to take a step back and shift focus on his career being an artist and performer. “After years of juggling duties and taking continuous small steps forward I’ve found myself at a balancing point investing more time into creating meaningful and soul-fulfilling art.”

Ari’s first three releases of the year, “Dragon’s Layer”, “Country Stroll” and “Elephant Walk,” feature John Medeski and Billy Martin. These Woodstock, NY recorded country and jazz influenced instrumentals are defined by their laid back grooves and catchy melodies. Ari has spent his life studying diverse artists across all genres and setting the foundation for himself so that he can be both over prepared yet able to let go of everything in the moment. When asked about his process of going into the studio with the high caliber collaborators he shares his body of work with, he makes it clear that he wants to allow the space for them to shine and be who they are. It’s their unique voice that he wants captured in the studio. “There’s a certain kind of magic that comes from not knowing what’s going to happen and knowing that the musicians you’re working with are at a certain point. You’re free to trust the process and provide the space for them to do what feels right, and speaks for them.” These songs feel like an extension of the MMW universe – Medeski, Martin & Joshua. “Country Stroll” and “Elephant Walk” showcase tasteful soloing by all three musical juggernauts.
Ari holds the artists he has worked with to the highest regard. No collaboration is the same. No circumstance is the same. Improvisation usually takes the wheel. When working with artists on complete ends of the spectrum, you have to be able to adapt. Some of his collaborators prefer being sent audio and charts prior, while others only care about the moment once they’re all together. “Each person and each group of people that I get to work with is a totally different situation.” He compares this to making a child. “We’re going to go in there [the studio] and we’re gonna mix up our DNA, ideally with good intentions and love, and ideally a good level of pleasure [laughs]. And we’re going to come out with something that’s its own thing – a new creation.”
Ari’s songwriting knows no bounds. There is truly something for everyone. This is evident with the release of “Elon’s Musk”, his psychedelic, Tipper-inspired electronic single released under the moniker Guitari with ill.gates and Cory Cavazos. Ari’s follow up, “Rare Groove” once again shifts genre and lineup entirely. This funk, R and B-inspired instrumental features Skerik, Grant Schroff and Delvon Lamarr. A recurring theme in Ari’s song writing is his ear-worm melodies, his focus on improvisation and the prominence of organ players. “I am obsessed with really great organ players. There’s just this match made in heaven for me. I really studied that stuff so heavily and I just have this natural gravitation towards it.” “The Clinic” and “Audio Bicycle Day” were also released with the same ensemble. These singles can be categorized by their funky, yet more sinister progressions and feature fantastic improvised solos by all. “Audio Bicycle Day (Suncatchers Version)” is a unique take on the same song but recorded with Joe Doria and Brad Gibson. The Suncatchers Version has a more whimsical, airy quality. He continues this onward trend of eclecticism with his release of “One Dub”, a reggae-inspired instrumental groove that features John Kimock, Andy Hess, and Eden Ladin. There are four remixes of “One Dub” currently available on streaming services.
Ari has also worked and recorded alongside Russ Lawton and Ray Paczkowski of Trey Anastasio Band. When talking about his unique songwriting approach when working with different artists, he spoke about how Russ would send drum recordings to Trey over the phone, and then Trey would write parts based on Russ’ recordings. This is the approach that Ari wanted to take in the studio, and he had Russ send him a bunch of demo ideas prior to their session in that spirit. These sessions, which originally took place during the pandemic, resulted in over 25 songs, many of which have yet to be released. “Starlight Mountain” is the first release of the year that features Ari on lead vocals. These emotionally delivered vocals, along with his well-crafted distorted guitar solo are extremely powerful and moving. “The TriCeraphClops” was released with the same all star lineup – dubbed the RAAR Trio. This funky and crunchy instrumental showcases the band’s virtuosity and their chemistry as a unit.

What you see of Ari’s art is just the tip of the iceberg – “almost 90% of it is underwater.” He relates each piece of music to a blank canvas that he’s constantly revisiting, which could take years, if not decades to complete. “Tagine,” recorded with Marco Benevento and Joe Russo over 15 years ago, is just now seeing the light of day. This psychedelic soundscape takes the listener on a sonic journey through the unknown. It exudes imagery of exploring a distant alien planet.
With no slowing down in sight, Ari has recently announced a brand new supergroup, The All’s Eye, consisting of Ben Atkind (Elephant Proof) and Kris Yunker (Bearly Dead) formerly of Goose. The trio fuse boogaloo funk, soulful organ grooves, Afrobeat, bluegrass, and alternative rock. Fresh off a recording session at Carriage House Studios, the trio is set to release a series of singles over the coming months. They just announced their first official run, four dates on the East Coast and will be sharing their latest single “West Hill Road” on November 20th. When taking the deep dive into Ari’s catalog, you may find yourself pleasantly lost in a rabbit hole of musical and auditory goodness – a yellow brick road of art and sound.

All Good Music Festival has launched a revamped festival, All Good Now, and has announced their 2025 lineup, slated to grace stages at Merriweather Post Pavilion from June 14-15, 2025 in Columbia, Maryland.
Ten years gone, All Good Music Festival is being reimagined as All Good Now, blending the legacy of the original festival with an iconic venue and an exciting lineup, capturing the timeless energy that brought thousands together for nearly two decades.
The official All Good Now lineup is a carefully curated mix of bands from All Good’s past and present. Returning artists from the original lineup include Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The String Cheese Incident, The Disco Biscuits, moe., Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Keller Williams, and The Bridge. They are joined by Goose, Lawrence, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Neal Francis, Dogs in a Pile, and Eggy, promising a celebration that spans the full evolution of the jam band and grassroots music scenes.

In celebration of The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance will play the album in its entirety on a 2025 stadium tour. Dates include MetLife Stadium on August 9, (with special guest Death Cab for Cutie and Thursday) and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 15 (with special guest Alice Cooper).
After performing The Black Parade album in its entirety at the most recent When We Were Young Festival, My Chemical Romance (Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Frank Iero, and Mikey Way) will be celebrating The Black Parade this coming summer. The iconic album was named one of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” The band will be performing the full album in only ten cities across North America. Each show will feature a different renowned act to open for the band.
