The 11th Annual We Can Survive benefit concert is set to be hosted by the radio giant Audacy this Saturday, September 28th at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
The one and only Justin Timberlake will be headlining, preceded by the American boyband New Kids on the Block, pop superstar Tate McRae, “Beautiful Things” singer Benson Boone, R&B singer Khalid and Cuban-American singer and songwriter Isabel LaRosa.
We Can Survive contributes to AFSP’s vital work by providing education, support for those affected by loss, and organizing community programs and events nationwide. A portion of this year’s show proceeds will go towards their initiatives, including their new public service campaign, “Talk Away the Dark,” which aims to raise awareness about suicide prevention, especially how to spot warning signs and connect others to valuable resources.

This annual event, part of Audacy’s ongoing mental health initiative, brings together artists, actors, medical professionals, and others to raise awareness and foster open conversations around mental health. In partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the program will offer valuable resources, highlight the importance of communication in mental wellness, and create a supportive environment for those facing mental health challenges. Listeners are encouraged to share their stories and explore tools for well-being, reinforcing that no one has to navigate their struggles alone.
Hosted by radio personality Carson Daly, co-host of NBC’s TODAY and The Voice, along with Audacy’s nationally syndicated Country host, Katie Neal, the broadcast will feature expert insights from Dr. Alfiee M. Breland-Noble, psychologist and founder of The AAKOMA Project, and Dr. Christine Yu Moutier, AFSP’s Chief Medical Officer.

Phish lead guitarist Trey Anastasio has officially released a new guitar-only instrumental album entitled Atriums via Rubber Jungle Records. The music is culled from years of experimental soundchecks and selections that were played in the public spaces, namely the atrium, at Las Vegas’ Sphere during the band’s recent run there in April. Proceeds from this new release will benefit the Divided Sky Foundation and its newly opened facility in Ludlow, Vermont.
Anastasio and Phish – renowned for creating immersive concert experiences – took full advantage at Sphere, utilizing sculptures, light and sound to transform the hallways of the futuristic venue. Those ambient soundscapes are now released as ATRIUMS. The six-track album doesn’t feature any strange song names but the music is far from ordinary and each one is approximately 15 minutes in length and offers a unique sonic composition consisting primarily of droning loops, echoes, and waves of tonal feedback layered with gentle, melodic fretwork.
“Atrium 1” features some harrowing, echoey guitar effects interspersed with brief moments of digital feedback. Whereas “Atrium 3” has a more blissful demeanor with simple, repetitive melodies on a loop, not too dissimilar from how the band’s “secret” third set at Mondegreen started where they played behind a screen of accompanying visuals instead of in front of one like Sphere. The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes (OSFL) celebrates Oktoberfest this autumn with a musical journey through the works of legendary German and Austrian composers, including Beethoven, Brahms, and the Strauss family—Josef, Johann Sr., and Johann Jr.
This special concert will take place on Saturday, October 12, at 7:00 PM, at Christ Episcopal Church in Corning, NY.
The evening’s highlight will be a performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto, featuring Jinyoung Yoon, an award-winning violinist from Seoul, South Korea, whose stunning artistry has earned her international recognition. She has been a soloist with prominent orchestras, including the Seoul Philharmonic and Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra as the first prize winner of the ECSO concerto competition. Jinyoung is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music under the tutelage of Ida Kavafian and Erin Keefe. Yoon continues to impress audiences as a rising star in the classical music world.
The OSFL, under the baton of Maestro Toshiyuki Shimada, will perform a program filled with iconic works, capturing the lively spirit of Oktoberfest. The repertoire for the evening includes Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture and Brahms’ Violin Concerto on the first half of the concert. The second half brings together the prolific output of the talented Strauss family with polkas, waltzes and more:

In an effort to make this cultural experience accessible to all, the OSFL is offering FREE tickets for children under 18 when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Tickets are available at $29, $44, or $59, with a discounted rate of $15 for college students with a valid ID.
This concert is presented in cooperation with Corning Rotary’s Crystal City Oktoberfest, promising a festive atmosphere that celebrates the intersection of music and community.
A sneak peak of this concert will be presented to Corning Painted Post Middle School students, with support from the Bobbie and John G. Ullman Family Foundation.

LCD Soundsystem has announced their upcoming “Winter FUNction” series of shows beginning November 21 at Knockdown Center in Queens for three long weekends in November and December.
The LCD Soundsystem shows take place November 21 through 24, December 5 through 8, and finally, December 12 through 15. The electronic rock band plans to dazzle audiences for these three long weekends for their “Annual Winter FUNction.”
The shows include special guest bands for each night of the performances, along with international deejays, after parties, and Four Horsemen Wine Bar. LCD Soundsystem is known for putting on a high-energy, captivating, and groovy show. These are not shows you want to miss.

The group was formed in Brooklyn in 2002 by James Murphy, the co-founder of DFA Records. Southern Rock jam band Gov’t Mule has announced the return of their annual New Year’s show at the Beacon Theatre from December 30-31. The band will also see the stage at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut on December 28 as well.
The three-night stand – Celebrating 30 years of The Mule – kicks off Saturday, December 28 at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT and then return to the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the longstanding home of their New Year’s shows, for back-to-back nights Monday, December 30 and Tuesday, December 31.
These special year-end shows mark the first Gov’t Mule headlining shows since their February “30 Years Strong Tour” and continue the celebrations for this major milestone as they honor the band’s past, present and future. This year marks the 22nd year in a row the band has hosted the annual New Year’s Run.

The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra has announced the opening concert of their 2024-2025 season, “Restless Oceans.”
Acting as the Southern Tier’s largest and longest-serving symphony orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra has been presenting the population of Downtown Binghamton and Broome County at large with an annual series of classical, pops, and chamber music since 1955.
Represented by Local 380 of the American Federation of Musicians and hailing from the Southern Tier, New York City, and beyond, the professional musicians of the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra serve up to 10,000 people annually within and beyond the concert hall.
Returning for their 2024-2025 season, the Philharmonic is bringing the concert Restless Oceans to the stage on Saturday, September 28. Taking its name from its first piece, the program spans two centuries of music celebrating the healing power of nature.
Highlights include the titular “Restless Oceans” by celebrated Anglo-American composer Anna Clyne which connects the sound of the natural world to the resiliency of the human spirit, Richard Stauss’s witty and jovial Horn Concerto No.1 that utilizes the French horn to evoke the ancient sounds of the hunt, and the concluding Beethoven’s famous hymn to nature and its restorative powers, Symphony No.6, the “Pastoral”.
Included in the performance of Horn Concerto No.1 is the Philharmonic’s principal horn Alex Shuhan as soloist. Shuhaun is not only the principal horn for Binghamton Philharmonic- he holds the same position in the Fort Smith, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as well as teaching at Ithaca College as a Professor of Horn. Performing as a soloist in orchestras across the United States as well as touring the globe in the Rhythm & Brass ensemble he co-founded, Shuhan’s performances are not to be missed.
In addition to a riveting concert, the Philharmonic invited the public to a Pre-Concert Chat at 6:30pm, “Sound and Vision in Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony” by the Philharmonic’s Director of Education and Community Engagement Dr. Julia Grella O’Connell. In the season’s first installment of the Philharmonic’s pre-concert talks, Dr. Grealla O’Connell will discuss the avenues Beethoven took to communicate particular visual information to listeners through sound.

Bert McCracken is most known for his two decades in The Used. By his 40th birthday, he jumped into a new genre, creating his own wave. Soon, he’ll be performing under his solo project robbietheused on a short cross-country tour from Oct. 30 – Nov. 6, with one of his key stops in New York City.
This tour follows the release of McCracken’s latest singles, “The Feels” and “Just a Little Bit,” which have garnered praise from fans. Therefore, Bert can share his new technique and lifestyle with his fans.
The solo project’s genre vastly contrasts from his work with his band, allowing Bert to shape his own comfort zone where he wants. Through the creation process, McCracken explained how he and his long time producer, John Feldmann would have coherent conversations, including about his mental health.
