  • Khruangbin Announce Tour, Coming to Buffalo, Saratoga Springs, and Queens

Alt trio Khruangbin has announced they are embarking on a major North American tour with support from Hermano Gutiérrez, John Carroll Kirby, Peter Cat Recording Co., Men I Trust, and Arooj Aftab. The A LA SALA tour features a date at SPAC on May 26, Buffalo at Rockin’ At The Knox on May 28, and two dates at Forest Hills Stadium on Sept. 20 and 21.

    Khruangbin tour

Khruangbin was formed in 2009 with Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums. They take their influence from 1960s Thai funk with their name translating to “Engine Fly” in Thai. The group has toured across the world, with praise from the NY Times, Billboard, and more. The trio recently announced their fourth studio album A LA SALA, their first LP in four years out on April 5. From the get-go, their journey has been its own, ignoring pop expectations and relying on internal aspirations and visions. The building blocks for A LA SALA’s 12 songs were pieces found in Khruangbin’s creative past, parts of the band not lost, but not yet tapped into.

Over the last two years, Khruangbin has sold out shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and London’s Alexandra Palace, released five live LPs showcasing their stage prowess – featuring guests such as Toro y Moi, Men I Trust and Nubya Garcia, collaborated with Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré honoring his late father, Ali Farka Touré, with the album Ali, and released their second collaborative EP with Leon Bridges, the sultry, chart-topping Texas Moon.

The Ecuadorian-Swiss sibling duo Hermanos Gutiérrez will be supporting Khruangbin on a run of shows in April. Known for their psychedelic, world-building guitar music, they just released their newest single  “Blood Milk Moon”, a spacious and spectral tune that was hailed by WNYC as “night music that is somehow not dark” and named to UPROXX’s Best New Indie list. The single represents the group’s first new music since 2022’s El Bueno Y El Malo, their acclaimed and mythic debut for Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound.

The Khru Club artist presale for the North American tour starts on Tuesday, January 30 at 10 am local time, Spotify Fans’ first pre-sale is on January 31 @ 10 am local time, local/venue presale on Thursday, February 1 @ 10 am local time and regular on sale Friday, February 2 @ 10 am local time. • LaMP Spring Tour Swings through Northeast, Mid Atlantic and Southeast

LaMP, featuring Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger and Ray Paczkowski has announced a 10-date Spring tour across the East Coast with stops in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and Southeast.

Kicking off in April, the run is in addition to two previously announced March shows in Denver and Boulder.

    LAMP Spring Tour

LaMP formed in 2018 for a handful of one-off performances in Vermont. The chemistry between the three was immediate, resulting in a heavy groove, soul jazz sound with plenty of deep funk and technical prowess to spare. During the pandemic, they’d record and release their first studio album. It wasn’t until 2023, however, that the organ/guitar/drums trio found time in their busy schedules to focus energy on LaMP as a priority.

    LAMP Spring Tour

The trio’s musical commitments are far reaching: Metzger is an in-demand studio guitarist and member of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, while Lawton and Paczkowski have their own duo Soule Monde and are original members of the Trey Anastasio Band. With both live and studio albums in the works and 12 shows planned for the Spring, LaMP five years from their inception is clearly just getting started.

We hit the Northeast pretty hard last Fall and the response was just incredible, lots of big crowds and sold out shows. So we decided that in the Spring it would be fun to play more around those same parts, but to instead find cool rooms outside of the big cities and bring the music to the people in spots a little more off the beaten path.

    Scott Metzger

  • X Ambassadors Complete North American Tour with Stops in NYC and Ithaca

Multi-platinum pop-rock band X Ambassadors have announced they will embark on a headlining tour across North America this spring, stopping in Manhattan, plus a hometown show in Ithaca.

    X Ambassadors cayuga sound festival

The group will make its rounds throughout Canada, and the US, with one stop in Mexico as well. Two New York shows are on the calendar as well – at State Theater of Ithaca and Irving Plaza in Manhattan. X Ambassadors, originally hailing from Ithaca, will return to their hometown for what is sure to be an incredible show on June 1.

X Ambassadors originated in Ithaca as a pop-rock band. The group has performed with acts like Imagine Dragons, Panic! at the Disco, and recently made works with artists from the likes of Rihanna, The Weeknd and SZA. The band has recently relocated from Ithaca to Brooklyn but remain loyal to the crowds of their hometown as they tour across the nation.

The band’s sound certainly has aspects of several different subgenres. They draw large influence from the indie-pop sound, with an acoustic-alternative mashup of sounds with overdrive chords and heavy drumbeats with backing acoustic chords. Their most popular song “Renegades” has over 340 million views on YouTube.

The tour kicks off April 5 in conjunction with the release of their latest album, Townie. Songs from the new album, as well as the band’s classics will be performed on the tour. The dates for the tour in the US will feature support from Rowan Drake and New West. In Canada, the band will see support from Noah Gundersen.

General on-sale begins on Friday, January 26 at 10:00am local time. Full details can be found at XAmbassadors.com.

Atmospher is an American hip-hop duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota, consisting of rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and DJ/producer Ant (Anthony Davis). In December 2023, Atmosphere released the Talk Talk EP, whose title track originally appeared on their latest album, So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously. The duo also made their cult, early 2000’s mixtape Sad Clown Bad Dub 2 available for the first time ever.

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP’s and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots.

Slug shows masterful storytelling and writes compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop’s pioneering DJ’s and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

The Atmosphere presale will begin Wednesday, January 24 at 10AM local time with the general on sale starting Friday, January 26 at 10AM local time. Tickets and information are available on atmospheresucks.com.
