Dionne Warwick is taking her show “HITS! The Musical” on tour, with three stops in NY. Warwick and her son, Damon Elliot, have joined the production team as co-producers to bring the show to over 50 cities across North America, starting in February. The show will be stopping at The Egg in Albany, Kodak Theater in Rochester and Town Hall in Manhattan.
As an institution in pop music, Dionne Warwick’s partnership with this musical is a made match. Warwick’s collection of iconic songs — “Walk on By,” “Alfie” — are matched in legend by the hits in “HITS!” which include “Hero,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “Singing in the Rain.”
Warwick is still touring herself; she will perform this February 3 at the MusiCares Dinner to honor Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson. CNN is releasing a documentary feature on Warwick’s life called “Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over” —airing on February 4 on CNN and streaming on HBO thereafter.
Today, Warwick is still going strong. She will be performing at select locations in North America during 2023, including the star-studded MusiCares dinner on February 3 honoring Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson. She will also attend the 65th GRAMMY Awards which will be held February 5. Fans can expect a new recording from Dionne Warwick later in February: “Peace Like A River,” a duet with Dolly Parton.
Warwick said she was drawn to produce “HITS!” because of the exciting cast of young creatives. Her son Damon Elliot agreed, saying that the musical’s well known score will bring together families. Elliot, manager and music producer in his own right, most recently he produced the title track for “80 For Brady,” an upcoming sports comedy film.
The tour will stop in Albany, Rochester and NYC. Tickets can be purchased here. See the full list of tour dates below.

Reggae-rock group Michael Franti and Spearhead have announced their newest tour will be making multiple New York stops this summer.
Michael Franti has spent decades peeling back the layers on what it means to be human, how to be the best version of ourselves and how to follow our hearts. Now, he aims to magnify those concepts enabling us all to apply them to the world around us with the coast-to-coast Big Big Love Tour 2023.
“Big big love represents being able to hold space for the micro and the macro of love,” Franti explains. “Everyone has someone they love, whether it’s their child, spouse, pet or friend. But then there’s holding space to love people of difference – people who are in the midst of war, people where there is pain and suffering. You show up as love, determination and spirit in those places where people really need a caring soul connection to help them heal. That’s what big big love is: holding space for the personal and the worldly.”
Creating A New Live Experience
Known all over the world for their energizing live shows that foster an invigorating sense of community, Michael Franti & Spearhead embody that attitude as they embark on the Big Big Love Tour 2023, featuring over 50 shows from May to August, including stops at California Roots Music & Arts Festival, Reggae Rise Up and Central Park Summer Stage, along with a highly anticipated return to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
As Franti reconnects with Soulrockers around the country, exclusive VIP opportunities will be available on select dates, including an intimate VIP Meet & Greet at headline shows and special VIP Experiences with Franti ahead of his performance.
Ahead of the U.S. tour, the band will head to Australia for a much anticipated return to Byron Bay Bluesfest as well as additional stops in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Cairns. They have partnered with Wanderlust to host yoga and wellness events in select markets as well as VIP Meet & Greets.

On February 11, Harlem Stage, the performing arts center that bridges Harlem’s cultural legacy to contemporary artists of color, will welcome Nikara Warren for the next installment of its Uptown Nights Concert Series at Gatehouse. Warren will perform music from her acclaimed debut album, Black Wall Street.
A true Brooklynite, Warren was born and bred in the eclectic and electric borough among her family, her friends, her band, and her musical pedigree are a microcosm of the county at large. Granddaughter of world-renowned jazz pianist Kenny Barron, daughter of a half Trinidadian soca/dancehall lover father, and a classic 90s “Brooklyn ’Round the Way” girl mother, Warren is taking vibes to the people with her infectious compositional sense, her post-modern patchwork of influences and cultural signposts, and her fearless musicality. Her bold quest comes from being well-versed in the vibraphone lineage, but seeking to adventure beyond it.
Warren’s debut album, Black Wall Street, represents a convergence of Nikara’s personal, cultural, familial, and musical journeys. Here, she explores abstract sound-collage, hip-hop, jazz, neo-soul, Afro-Latino and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and more. The through-line here being for Nikara — it’s all dance music. Her vision is cohesive but eclectic — just like how people’s identities are a product of their varied heritage and associations. Music critic Kira Grunenberg stated, “Black Wall Street doesn’t project its versatility and creative range through scholarly jazz arrangements or covers chasing perfectionism. Instead, it offers original music converged around a stylistically fluid foundation.”
Joining Warren (vibraphone and raps) at Harlem Stage are Craig Hill (saxophone), Alonzo Demetrius (trumpet), Parker McAllister (electric bass), Corey Sanchez (electric guitar), Axel Tosca (keyboards), and David Frazier, Jr. (drums & sampling pad), plus special guests.
With a long-standing tradition of supporting artists and organizations around the corner and across the globe, Harlem Stage boasts such legendary artists as Harry Belafonte, Max Roach, Sekou Sundiata, Abbey Lincoln, Sonia Sanchez, Eddie Palmieri, Maya Angelou, and Tito Puente, as well as contemporary artists like Mumu Fresh, Jason “Timbuktu” Diakité, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Tamar-kali, Vijay Iyer, Mike Ladd, Meshell Ndegeocello, Jason Moran, José James, Nona Hendryx, Bill T. Jones, and more. Harlem Stage’s education programs serve over 2,300 New York City school children each year.
Tickets are $25-35 and can be purchased at harlemstage.org.

Long Island‘s Gone Stereo is premiering a new video for the track “Don’t Think I Forgot About You” on BlankTV. Singer Matty Lupinacci says “Getting dumped sucks, but sometimes you move onto better things and you don’t look back. When your ex hits the dating pool, realizes you’re great and wants you back…it may be too late.”
Long Island has a long and storied history as a hub of underground punk and with their debut single, Gone Stereo, has added the first page to their chapter. “Don’t Think I Forgot About You” is an early 2000s pop-punk flashback reminiscent of MxPx, Autopilot Off, The Ataris or Allister to name a few.
With its catchy hooks, driving melodies, and memorable choruses, this song make it impossible to not sing-a-long and listen on repeat. B-side “Taste of This” has a pounding mid-tempo beat and soaring harmonies perfect for blasting the stereo with the windows down on a drive into the city for the pop-punk show.
The band has announced a string of shows in Jan/Feb including supporting stints for Boys Of Fall on Jan 28 in Williamsburg and Hidden In Plain View in NYC on Jan 29.
Upcoming Show Dates:
Jan 28 at The Meadows, (Williamsburg) Brooklyn, NY with Boys of Fall
Jan 29 at Gramercy Theatre, New York, NY with Hidden In Plain View
Feb 25 at Mr. Beery’s, Bethpage, NY with Skappository (live album recording)

Superstars of Malian music with an illustrious career spanning more than 40 years, Amadou & Mariam are set to headline top U.S. venues this March, with stops in Ithaca, Poughkeepsie and New York City.
The prolific blind African duo will tour in support of their new live album, Eclipse (Because Music, Release Date: December 9, 2022), which marks the 10th Anniversary of their legendary concert performed completely in the dark (for musicians and audiences alike) at the Manchester International Festival (2012).
Amadou & Mariam are beloved West African music ambassadors who break through musical and cultural barriers while inspiring millions of fans along the way. 2021/2022 was an ambitious two years for two of Africa’s most revered artists. While the duo has been working in the studio on their much-anticipated ninth full-length album, Amadou & Mariam toured with gospel royalty The Blind Boys of Alabama and cut two dance crossover singles. Mainstays on dance floors around the world, their collaboration with Sofi Tukker on the track and music video for “Mon Cheri” now has over 1 million views on YouTube. A deep house remix of “Sete” by Blond:ish and Haitian producer Francis Mercier revisits one of the earliest hits from Amadou & Mariam’s acclaimed recording catalog. “Sete” ranked #8 on Billboard’s “Best Dance Songs of 2022.”
Following eight critically-acclaimed studio albums, including the gold and platinum certified Dimanche à Bamako and the GRAMMY Award-nominated, Welcome to Mali, Amadou & Mariam released Eclipse to bring their fans into a fully immersive experience unlike any other. The English version of Eclipse is narrated by actor Isaach de Bankolé.
“There are always a lot of questions on how we live and how we feel about music,” says Amadou & Mariam. “Eclipse is a way for us to be on an equal footing with the audience so that they can understand our lives. In the dark, we listen in a new way. Beyond our vision, we can imagine, we can pretend, we can take in the space around us through our hearing, and therefore, get a real sense of what’s our experience. Maybe by not seeing, we can feel the music in a different way.”
Amadou & Mariam preserve a legacy of being one of the most heartwarming stories of modern music — a love affair that propelled two grandparents from Mali into topping charts across the globe and raising awareness of the challenges of living in one of the world’s poorest countries.
There’s not much that Amadou & Mariam haven’t done in the music industry. Even with all of their career accolades though, one thing remains true: their love for one another and that of their craft will always be of the highest order on their mission to bring African music to the masses.
Amadou & Mariam’s upcoming U.S. tour includes live performances by an award-winning quartet featuring many of their classic and latest hits, as well as songs from Eclipse.

Fall Out Boy are GRAMMY award-nominated multi-platinum selling rockers. They have announced a 2023 headlining tour, coming to Forest Hills and Darien Center.
Fall Out Boy.
Fall Out Boy is one of the biggest-selling rock bands. The group is comprised of vocalist Patrick Stump, bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz, and drummer Andy Hurley. Joe Trohman, the group’s guitarist, announced he would be stepping away from the group due to mental health reasons, and won’t be involved in this headline tour.
Their seventh studio album MANIA debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in January 2018 and garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album. Other records that have done well on Billboard charts include 2015’s AMERICAN BEAUTY/AMERICAN PSYCHO and 2013’s Save Rock and Roll, whose song “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” went multi-platinum.
Formed in Chicago in 2001, the band ties the city into everything they do. Last week they performed a surprise show at the 1,000-capacity venue Metro, with an immediate sell-out. It is down the street from Wrigley Field, which will be the venue for the opening date of the tour, and was last performed in 2002 by the group. Stump joked with the crowd saying “Twenty years ago, I told my mom I was going to take a semester off [college] because we were headlining Metro and I wanted to see how that would work out.” The night was hailed by Variety as a “triumphant hometown show,” noting that “there are concerts, and there are events, and a hometown show in Chicago from [Fall Out Boy] is definitely in the latter category.”
The band will be releasing a new record So Much (For) Stardust on March 24. Two singles have been released thus far, “Love From The Other Side” and “Heartbreak Feels So Good,” and bring the band back to their rock roots, and is described by the Chicago Sun-Times as “tak[ing] all they’ve learned and accomplished the past 20 years and combine it with their unflinching roots for an ultimate glow-up.”
The So Much For (Tour) Dust headline will feature Bring Me The Horizon on most dates, as well as Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, Four Years Strong, The Academy Is…, Royal & The Serpent, Games We Play, Daisy Grenade and Carr on select shows throughout the tour’s run. They will be hitting Forest Hills Stadium on Aug. 1 and Darien Lake Amphitheater on Aug. 4. Fall Out Boy’s mailing list pre-sale will begin Thursday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. local. The general on sale will be Friday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. local, and can be purchased here.
