Jazz and swing musical organization the Full Count Big Band are happy to release a new song, an anthem about New York City, rightfully called “I Met New York.”
Consisting of 17 different instrumentalists and one vocalist when performing, the band initially began 20 years ago as a community group, later growing to the professional level. Much of the Full Count Big Band has experience in the music industry, with musicians, for the most part, currently playing or have played/toured with popular groups or are music education teachers.
The song’s inspiration comes from Jeneal Teander, who isn’t from New York but instead from North Carolina, who thought that New York City with all its problems, could use a lift through an inspirational song. Bender discovered the Full Count Big Band through their website and the group’s proximity to New York City, a perfect blend for what he was looking for. Following the band’s tweaks and adjustments to the track for about a year, Bender is finally ready to release his work.
The band performs and rehearses weekly for weddings, concerts, private parties, dances, fairs, fundraiser events, and jazz clubs across the metro New York area.
To listen to “I Met New York,” you can visit the band’s website, where you can find booking information, listen to other songs, and additional background on the New Jersey group.

New York organist trio Organ Fairchild release a second lead single ahead of their new album Leisure Suit, this time around a groovy cover of the Grateful Dead’s track “He’s Gone.”
The funky, upbeat instrumental rendition of the well-known song will come out Friday, July 21, 2023, serving as a taste of what’s to come from their second album coming this September.
Recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Grammy-winning engineer Justin Guip (HotTuna, Levon Helm) and mastered by Alan Evans (Soulive), the song additionally showcases the band’s love for the Grateful Dead, a group that has meant a lot to them throughout their journey.
Group members Dave Ruch, Joe Bellanti, and Corey Kertzie originally met and started off as the Wild Knights in 1983, a cover group for the Grateful Dead, incorporating some of their older cover styles with fresh, new funk sounds into the single.
The three of us grew up playing Grateful Dead music together, so how fun to take our organ-trio format (with no singing and no bass player!) and reinterpret this song.”
– Dave Ruch
Coming together as Organ Fairchild in 2020, the trio began writing their first original music together, while also earning the title of New York’s number-one emerging band in 2021.

Organ Fairchild is no stranger to large festivals either, playing shows and festivals with Goose, Trey Anastasio Band, Melvin Seals, moe., and many more.
The lead single drops just one week before Organ Fairchild heads on their “Dead of Summer” Tour. Their tour expects to feature a full set of Grateful Dead covers, organ-trio style, along with a set of their award-winning original material.

Alternative/Indie group Public Water Supply has announced an interactive music and fashion extravaganza, encouraging fans to participate in a red-carpet-style fashion show on July 22.
Taking place at the Dawn Lipson Canalside Stage at the Rochester JCC as a part of their Summer concert series, Public Water Supply wants to create Upstate New York’s version of the Met Gala, complete with a red carpet event, creative outfits, and some of their tunes.

This event is all about self-expression. Bust out the vintage or come-as-you-are. Just let your outfit speak for itself…when the energy is right, the band loves to throw on a costume. So, now we want to see what our fans can bring in fashion form.”
– Iggy Marino
