    Karl Bertand – “Natalia”

    Karl Bertrand is a songwriter, guitarist, and producer living in Glens Falls, NY. He’s performed on festival stages as a member of rock band Let’s Be Leonard, and has released a handful of records that are accessible on all streaming platforms. Karl is continuously recording and releasing new material and performing his original songs around the Upstate New York area. 

    Black Tongue Reverend – “Northern Burden”

    Black Tongue Reverend is a heavy psych blues rock band from Northern New York featuring Eric Tulip (bass & vocals), Mike Errichetto (guitar) and Geoff Gorman (drums). Their debut album is Northern Burden.

    Mike del Vecchio – “Meet (esophagus)”

    From his April 2022 release My Bionic Life, with all music and lyrics written, performed, recorded by Mike Del Vecchio, comes “Meet (esophagus)”.

    Kendra McKinley – “Dirty Laundry”

    Kendra McKinley is a Hudson Valley singer-songwriter who blends pop, jazz, and soul using vibrant sensuality and wit. Her new single “Dirty Laundry” will be on EQXposure, and the music video is out now.

    The Pine Boys – “Lunatic”

    The Pine Boys is a three-piece band that resides in Albany, NY, and consists of members Andrew Cerone, Brett Maney, and Sam Lasky. The group brews together genres like Alternative Rock, Hip-Hop and Funk. Their song “Lunatic” off of their album Vacationland will be shown on EQXposure. The song is very funky, with muffled vocals and cool synths and an almost wolf’s howl in the background.

    Gozer – “Braindead”

    Gozer are a band also from Albany, NY. The members include Mykah Dillenger, Sean Murphy, Nick Kossor, and Seth Maset. They are an original hard rock band and music contributors to various podcasts/movies. Their single “Braindead” will also be shown on EQXposure. The song has a lot of heavy guitars and is reminicisent of an early 2000s rock song, with stellar vocals and lyrics.

    Super Stash Bros – “Everytime”

    The Super Stash Bros are a band out of Killington, VT featuring Josh Jakab (Guitar), Nick Vittone (Bass), Josh Morse (Vocals), Vince FitzGerald (Guitar) and Blake Gowan (Drums). Their eclectic mix of genres has confused, disappointed and annoyed listeners for years.

    My Own Sweet – “Snowfences”

    MOS is Tim Lauben, Chris Kelly, Kurt Herrmann and Dave Mersch. Prior to the release of their latest, “Snowfences,” the band created the EP Ghosts I Knew. The bands recalls that on Easter Sunday 2020 someone texted them, “Could we try to write a song?” Over the next two years, MOS used Garageband and zoom/googlemeet to collaborate and whittle down more than 20 songs to a four song collection of demos called “Ghosts I Knew” that serves as the answer.

    Jade Relics – “Mandarine” & “Leave us Alone”

    Jade Relics is a collective of Vermont Musicians featuring, Elder Orange, Rico James, IamE. Their debut release is equally infectious as it is danceable all the while carrying a message. The music floats along a hip hop feel with emo heartfelt singing, excellent production and instrumentation creating a head bobbing yet smart piece of music.

    Jade Relics previously released “Start Over,” a massive sounding intoxicating grooed out jam about pushing the rest button or at least being forced to do so.

    Atelo Songs – “Wish I Could Drop”

    Sam Gleason aka Atelo Songs is a singer/songwriter and producer who creates music spanning a wide variety of genres, including rock, pop, folk, psychedelic, and new wave. Getting his start over a decade ago performing at various venues throughout the state of New York, he’s become known for both his powerful and unique voice as well as his strange, story-telling style of songwriting.

    Having played shows with artists such as Jimmy Webb and Charles NeVille, he continues to constantly play out throughout New York and has not stopped writing, recording, and putting out as much music as possible. Atelo currently resides in the city of Albany, and has spent the gigless days of the pandemic writing, recording, and releasing singles. See less

    New American Cuisine – “Drop”

    Five-piece Saratoga Springs band New American Cuisine has two singles named after flowers: “Lily of the Aztecs” and “Daffodil.” The band met in high school, and while they’ve since graduated and gone to different colleges, they continue to collaborate on winter and summer breaks. Both singles have chill guitar riffs and catchy vocal hooks, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

    Laveda – “bb”

    On their 2020 debut album What Happens After, Laveda draw a post-apocolyptic landscape through layers of colorful sound and ethereal melodies. The band fuses polished pop song clarity with a 90’s guitar driven sound reminiscent of groups like The Sundays or my bloody valentine. Founding members “Jacob Brooks and Ali Genevich explore the great yawning unknown. From the freedom and uncertainty that rests at your fingertips or the distant and possibly desolate future, they capture adolescent restlessness with big walls of sound and a dreamy melodious warble” writes Toronto based blog Ohestee. NYC’s Look At My Records! calls Laveda “a young band with a fully realized voice and perspective, and What Happens After couldn’t feel timelier.”

    Seize Atlantis – “Unstoppable Groove”

    Formed in 2019, Seize Atlantis is an Alternative Rock Band located in Upstate NY that plays a variety of genres, including originals and covers. All members were high-school friends and lived in the same area growing up in Queensbury/Glens Falls. Eventually realizing they all shared the same passion for music, the band formed Seize Atlantis and the search for the sound they were looking for was complete.

    Ciarra Fragale – “Loosing my cool”

    Ciarra Fragale is an indie pop singer/songwriter, producer, and actor from the Hudson Valley. By blending the nostalgic traditions of songwriting with unique new-wave sensibilities, she creates a refreshing sound all her own. In addition to making her own music, Ciarra has also composed many works for theater and film.

    Sara Devoe – “ God U R so cool”

    Sara Devoe is an emerging singer/songwriter from Albany. Much of her music is inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Haley Heynderickx, Field Medic, and Grimes. Her first EP “Harsh” will be out this Summer.

    Sly Fox and The Hustlers – “ Find Someone”

    John Popper of Blues Traveler called Sly Fox and the Hustlers, “one of the best bands I’ve seen in a long time!” The band has shared stages with Popper’s Blues Traveler, SmashMouth, Robin Trower and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, among others. The Hustlers have also been a mainstay at festivals and music events across the Northeast, including Alive @ 5, the Americade Bike Fest, Movefest and the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, to name a few. The band will be releasing their third full-length album on 2-2-22. 

    Thom Powers & Friends – “RollerCoaster Show”

    Thom Powers and Friends was established in the Summer of 2021 and consists of Thom Powers as lead vocals, rhythm guitar, Andy Doonan on bass, Andy Mollica on lead guitar, Tony Califano on keys, and Darryl Kniffen on Drums. These guys love rock and roll and love to play music – original music and their take on cover tunes.

    Thanks!  – “I choose You”

    Thanks! has released “I Choose You,” their second single off their upcoming album, You’re Welcome on February 11th. The upcoming album that will be released in the summer of 2022 is the band’s first full-length album.

    “I Choose You” was inspired by the special people in our lives. The ones we want to laugh with, cry with and most importantly, dance with. This is a celebration of how those people make us feel and how in a sea of a billion fish, we would choose them over and over again.

    Victory Soul Orchestra “Shoot Your Shot” can be heard on EQXposure. The band along with JB threw a party in Foster House Studios and recorded some songs, “Shoot Your Shot” being the first in a series of live recordings.

    From Singaporean singer-songwriter W. Y. Huang is his latest, ‘Living With Ghosts.” Writing on Instagram, Huang said “It’s about growing older, dealing with pain, regret and letting go of the past, of fear. “I’ve not written something so personal in a long time… maybe ever. When I wasn’t in a good place, writing this song helped me [through] it.”

    Psychedelic folk band Adequate Phil has released a double single, “Baby Leeches/Vessel,” featured on EQX this week. Both sides are experimental pieces, especially “Vessel,” which is more of an audio atmosphere than a traditional song. “Baby Leeches” almost follows in its footsteps, until vocals and a recurring melody jump in at the halfway part. With its background whispers about spirit guides and crystal caves, “Vessel” feels like a window to another world. The Troy freak-folk group’s Spotify bio cites Animal Collective, The Beatles, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Radiohead as major influences.

    Joe DeFelice

    Singer-songwriter Joe DeFelice has released his debut EP, Outside Looking In. Originally from New Hampshire, DeFelice has been a live music fixture ever since relocating to the upstate New York area. The penultimate song on Outside Looking In, “We Fell Apart,” is upbeat and anthemic despite its bittersweet lyrics:

    Albany alt-rock band grape juice! is back with another song, “Goodbyes Suck.” Like their previous single, “Sad Songs,” its title is deceptive: the narrator sounds more than happy to be moving on with his life after a breakup.
