  • Annual France Rocks NYC Summer Fest Announces Line-up

    France Rocks Summer fest, the largest festival of French music in the United States, have announced their 5th anniversary lineup. Beginning on Saturday, June 4, this month-long festival will feature 15 concerts across Brooklyn and Manhattan, and will culminate with a celebration at Central Park’s SummerStage.

    Gracing the France Rocks stage will be legendary French hip hop artist MC Solaar, the Nice-based electro-pop artist Hyphen Hyphen and electro-pop trio Bon Entendeur. Co-presented with FiAF (French Institute Alliance Francaise), the performances on June, 21 will also mark the 40th Anniversary of “La Fête de la Musique”, an International day of music that derived from France.

    We are thrilled to celebrate the 5th edition of France Rocks Summer Fest and the return of live music to New York City, which is once again thriving.

    I am proud to present this diverse group of edgy, up-and-coming artists and can’t wait to witness the beautiful energy of audiences enjoying this tremendous music.

    France Rocks highlights the most exciting music coming out of France today, as well as international artists who draw their inspiration from French culture. Attracting more than 50,000 music lovers across all backgrounds, free and ticketed shows will be held across eight venues throughout the month, including Brooklyn Steel and Blue Note Jazz Club.

    This year’s France Rocks festival is supported in part by the city’s programming initiative, NY Music Month, the official celebration of New York City’s vibrant and dynamic music ecosystem. In turn, France Rocks hopes to present its most eclectic roster of music to-date, ranging from gypsy jazz, electro-pop, Latin inspired French music and more.

    France Rocks SummerFest is also supported through partnerships with France Rocks, French Institute Alliance Francaise, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Make Music New York, French Morning, A2IM Indie Week, SummerStage in Central Park, and the Lincoln Center.

  • Remember Jones Drops New Single, Announces July Festival

    Remember Jones has released a new single, “love will return” featuring The Horn Section.

    The newest track promoting his new album HAHA BITCH! slated for July 8 release, features co-writing from Levy Okun and production from AGM3, a duo composed of Andrew Greacen and Max McKee.

    A simple dance pop song, “love will return” focuses on moving past personal hardship in aim of finding success and joy in the future with light, spacy verses contrasting loud, funky hooks. “Living in a bubble, it all seems like trouble, you just gotta think free,” Jones sings during the first pre-chorus.

    Remember Jones’ vocal talents are on display with this track, flashing hints of Michael Jackson along the way.

    The track’s premier source of flare comes from the aptly named Horn Section on well, horns. Their presence on the final two choruses amplifies the already funky song, only building its optimistic energy until reaching a conclusion.

    “love will return” precedes a busy upcoming summer for Remember Jones. The release of HAHA BITCH! will also be supported by his first ever Summer Slay! Festival at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ on July 9. Also serving as a birthday celebration for Jones, a New Jersey native, it is one of many nationwide stops for his ongoing won’t you be my hater? TOUR.

    Other acts of the festival include Quincy Mumford’s Lifted Laboratory, a long time collaborator with Jones, as well as Tor Miller, Zoe Sparks, and Levy Okun.

    The event will be hosted by drag queens Jolina Jasmine, Miss Paradise of 2016 & 2021, as well as Tastie and Morrigan von Haunt, hosts of drag nights at Georgie’s Bar in Asbury Park. The three will also have performances of their own during the festival.

    The event will include giveaways and audience-involved drag makeovers, and local restaurants Larry Cadillac & Mutiny BBQ will promote the festival with special menu items at their locations.

  • Opera Saratoga Announces New Details for 2022 Summer Festival

    Opera Saratoga announced Thursday their updated casting, and ticket information for their 2022 Summer Festival.

    The festival, which runs from May 26 to July 10, will host eight shows at venues spanning from Albany up to Lake George Village.

    The Barber of Seville will be performed on Proctors MainStage in Schenectady on July 8 & 10.

    Guest performers include artists Carolee Carmello, Craig Colclough, Siphokazi Molten, Daniel Mobbs, Phyllis Pancella, Sidney Outlaw, and Marietta Simpson.

    The festival will open up with Stars of Tomorrow, an annual concert at The Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls.

    Headline performances of the festival include two Gioachino Rossini works, The Barber of Seville on Proctors MainStage in Schenectady and Petite Messe Solennelle at The Round Lake Auditorium on July 10. The Barber of Seville is the final scheduled concert of the festival.

    Also featured will be Sky on Swings by Lembit Beecher and Hannah Moscovitch at The Egg in Albany, and a performance of Stephen Sondheim’s famed Sweeney Todd on the Amphitheater Stage of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

    Other events include A Broadway Cabaret at The Mansion of Saratoga in Rock City Falls, A Juneteenth Celebration at Proctors’ GE Theater in Schenectady, and the 2020 Opera Gala: Opera Under the Stars at The Barn at French Mountain in Lake George Village.

    Opera Saratoga has been offering tickets for individual performances for the summer festival since March 21, and is also providing broader access through two different event passes.

    The “All Access Pass” offers 20% savings off tickets to Sweeney Todd, Sky on Swings, A Broadway Cabaret, and both Rossini operas, along with granting free tickets A Juneteenth Celebration and Stars of Tomorrow. The pass also provides holders a 20% discount off any additional tickets purchased.

    The “Festival Highlights Pass” gives priority seating and 20% off tickets to Sweeney Todd, Sky on Swings, and The Barber of Seville. Holders can also customize their pass by including additional tickets to concerts of choice from the Opera Saratoga 2022 Festival with a 10% discount for each purchased.

    Tickets for individual performances have been available online or by phone through the offices of SPAC (Sweeney Todd, Stars of Tomorrow, A Broadway Cabaret, Petite Messe Solennelle), Proctors (The Barber of Seville, A Juneteenth Celebration) and Egg Box (Sky on Swings).   • DelFest announces addition of more artists to lineup

    Organizers of DelFest in Cumberland, MD have announced new additions to their 14th annual festival lineup. They’ve added Travelin’ McCourys, Robert Earl Keen, the Jerry Douglas Band, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, and the Price Sisters to the annual bluegrass music showcase.

    4-day passes will increase in price on Monday, February 21 at midnight Eastern. Glamping packages and on site parking packages are also available for sale now. Three and two day passes will become available on Tuesday February 22nd.

  • Dead of Summer Music Festival 3 Features Deadgrass and Max Creek at Magic Mountain in VT

    The Magic Mountain Ski Area and Whirlygig Music proudly announce the third annual Dead of Summer Music Festival 3. The festival will take place on July 9th, 2022, at the beautiful, scenic Magic Mountain Ski Area in Londonderry, Vermont.

    Matt Turk and C Lanzbom joined forces to form Deadgrass, celebrating and interpreting the music of Jerry Garcia, drawing from Old & In The Way, JGB, Jerry’s Jug Band and The Grateful Dead.

  • Green River Festival Announces 2022 Lineup

    The Green River Festival in the Western Massachusetts town of Greenfield has announced the lineup for its 2022 installment. The headliners for the June 24-26 festival are Lake Street Dive, Father John Misty, Guster, Waxahatchee, Ripe, Galactic, and Hiss Golden Messenger.

    The festival attained a certain level of renown recently, even being considered as one of “fifty essential summer music festivals” by the New York Times. This year they expect to have more than 30 live acts performing over the course of the event’s three days. 

    “For the first time we were able to host both RV and tent campers on site,” said Green River Festival Director, Jim Olsen “and still have plenty of space for three stages of music and all the other elements that make Green River Festival special.  We know it will be even better in 2022.”

    The full lineup includes Waxahatchee, Ripe, Galactic featuring Anjelika Jelly Joseph, Hiss Golden Messenger, Allison Russell, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Las Cafeteras, Katie Pruitt, Asleep At The Wheel, The Dip, Cha Wa, Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, Parsonsfield, Brennen Leigh, The Wildmans, Natu Camera, Steve Poltz, Rose & The Bros, MISTER G and the Global Citizen Ensemble, Matthew Fowler, and Oshima Brothers.

    StompBoxTrio explores the multicultural depths of 20th-century American blues, rock, and soul with some 21st-century mojo.

    Love Crumbs is a folk-rock, indie, and Americana group based in Massachusetts. Known for blending poignant lyrics with smashing female vocals, their nostalgic, timeless, heart-on-sleeve sound harkens to a bygone era.

    The Gaslight Tinkers’ blend of global rhythms creates a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old time and celtic fiddle music, merging boundless positive energy with melody and song.

    Jake Manzi is known for his candid, easy stage presence, the moving stories behind his songs, and lyrics that will break your heart and make it whole again all at once.

    The Green Sisters’ sound spans a wide range of bluegrass, barbershop, blues, country, and lots of original songs which fit right into the mix.

    Poor Monroe is a New England-based bluegrass collaboration of seasoned players, delivering unmistakably tight vocal harmonies and scorching tempos that are the benchmark of the genre.
