  • The DAB Sessions, an Allstar Exploration of Music to debut in January

    Adam Chase of Jazz is PHSH embarks on a new allstar exploration of music with The DAB Sessions, premiering on January 10 at Brooklyn Bowl. Joining Chase are Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits and Jacob Bergson of Nerve, two keyboardists from leading exploratory electro-jazz live bands, as well as bass prodigy Felix Pastorius and Antibalas saxophonist Morgan Price. The evening is presented by Instrument Find and will mark the debut of The DAB Sessions.

    Get to know the players in The DAB Sessions:

    Jacob Bergson is the multi talented keyboardist and producer for the world renown electronic band, NERVE. NERVE is a band led by famed masterful drummer JoJo Mayer that formed out of underground parties hosted by JoJo Mayer that led the way for electronic music to be performed on live instruments.

    Aron Magner has been on the forefront of the electronic music scene since it first began to grow. As the keyboardist and founding member of The Disco Biscuits, Magner has been instrumental in the growing popularity of electronic music being performed by highly proficient live musicians.

    When many people hear Felix Pastorius perform there are reasonable and obvious preconceived notions and expectations being that he is playing the same instrument as his legendary bass playing father, Jaco Pastorius. While the appreciation of the seemingly genetic talent is obvious, it is also obvious that Felix has put the time in to achieve his own voice on the instrument.

    Adam Chase is a drummer that is multi-faceted and the visionary behind The DAB Sessions. Chase is a multi instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriting music director that entered the world of drums in the 1st grade when he had the opportunity to see a young Tony Royster Jr. make mastering the drums look easy.

    Morgan Price is a multi-instrumentalist that found his way into the Dap Tones world with his saxophone, flute, and keyboard skills. His skills on tenor saxophone and baritone saxophone have led him to steady gigs with Antibalas and The Duke Ellington Orchestra.

  • Sirius XM Octane Announces First Ever ‘Accelerator Tour’

    Sirius XM Octane, the leader in playing todays hard rock and heavy metal, has announced its first ever curated tour titled the “Accelerator Tour,” named after what the radio station calls their newest, hottest charting hit singles, usually by new up-and-coming artists.

    Octane’s first attempt at a tour will feature all artists who have made the Accelerator List, including headliners Like A Storm, and special guest Royal Tusk, and Afterlife.

    The 19-city tour will makes its debut in Anaheim on Jan. 23 and make a brief stop in New York on Feb. 12 at The Gramercy Theatre. XM subscribers can take part in a special pre-sale, with general public tickets going on sale Dec. 14.

    Since establishing themselves as the best hard rock and radio station available in the U.S., several of today’s best in hard rock and meta luse Octane as their preferred platform when releasing world premieres of new music. The station is known for constantly discovering emerging new artists that hard rock and metal fans become fans of instantly.

  • Aqueous Announces 2019 Winter Tour

    2018 has been a tremendous year for Aqueous, hailing from Buffalo, as the groove-rock foursome has taken the nation by storm with their Color Wheel tour and the momentum will continue into 2019 with a Winter West Coast tour co-headlining with BIG Something.

    Kicking off in February, the 20-date tour will include several stops in the Midwest, a five-date run in Colorado and debut appearances in Oregon, Washington and California.

    Guitarist Dave Loss stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to head west.  The band has played Colorado several times now and it almost feels like a second home to us. We always feel so much love there. This will, however, be the band’s first venture out to the West Coast. We’ve been wanting to get out there for a long time now and we’re stoked to finally make it happen. Doing it with our good friends BIG Something just makes it that much better!”  The band will then bring their maiden voyage south for three shows in Texas before wrapping up in New Orleans.

  • Queen Announces ‘The Rhapsody Tour’ With Adam Lambert

    With all the hype the new “Bohemian Rhapsody” Freddy Mercury biopic has received, it was only a matter of time the the rest of the remaining members of Queen would announce a new tour and hit the road. Summer 2019 will see Queen members once again team up with who they feel most resembles Mercury today, former American Idol star, Adam Lambert. The pairing will take “The Rhapsody Tour,” to over twenty cities, including one stop in New York on Aug. 6 at Madison square Garden. The tour kicks off July 10 in Vancouver.

    Fans planning on attending the tour can guarantee to hear a set list of Queen hits and a new unique stage show that will have Queen written all over it.

    Guitarist Brian May and current frontman Adam Lambert had commented on the upcoming “The Rhapsody Tour.”

    Queen Rhapsody TourMay stated: “This is great opportunity. Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever, and got us our best notices ever. So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious! Watch out, America!”

    Lambert added: “The show is set to expand the parameters of what a live music experience can be. To be their most spectacular yet, an innovative and interactive celebration of the continued power of Queen’s music. We have been designing a brand new visual spectacle that will reframe these iconic songs and we are excited to unveil it!”

    Tickets go on sale to the general public on Dec. 7, 2018 at 10 am.

  • Rolling Stones make their long awaited return to U.S for 2019 ‘No Filter’ Tour

    One would think after dozens of tours that the years of glory and millions of screaming fans would take a toll on a man. However, the Rolling Stones never cease to amaze us as they announce their 2019 “No Filter” U.S. stadium tour. The legendary English rock group have performed over an astounding 2,000 concerts and there doesn’t appear to be any signs of slowing down. This 13 show tour will include some of the largest venues in the world with multiple stops in California, Florida, and more. Tickets will officially go on sale for these events at 10:00 a.m. on Nov. 30.

    Although the band has primarily played across Europe for the past two years, they hold a dear adoration for their American fans. Mick Jagger voiced his love and recognition for these loyal listeners by stating: “It’s a thrill when we play stadiums in the States…The energy is always amazing!” To which Keith Richards passionately contributed: “I’ve always loved playing in the states. It’s a great crowd.” It is true that their absence has been upsetting to classic rock enthusiasts and concert-goers but these 13 shows will be a refreshing reminder of the incredible music The Rolling Stones have always blessed us with.   • Mike Gordon Announces East Coast Spring Tour

    Mike Gordon and his band released plans for Spring appearances around the east coast. The rapid-fire March tour will bring Phish bassist Mike Gordon and company to several venues in up and down the east coast, beginning in Atlanta and finishing up with a four night run in Cambridge, MA. General Admission tickets went on sale on Friday.

  • Iron Maiden bringing the Legacy of the Beast Tour to North America next summer

    Iron Maiden makes its return to North America next summer with the Legacy of the Beast Tour. The band, known for elaborate stage shows, is calling this tour its biggest production yet.

    Legacy of the BeastThe tour will kick off July 18 in Sunrise, FL and visit arenas and amphitheaters throughout the U.S. and Canada next summer. The itinerary includes a July 26 stop at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and an Aug. 13 visit to Buffalo’s KeyBank Center.

    Bassist Steve Harris said of the tour:

    We gave a lot of thought to the set list for this Tour as the songs needed to follow the narrative of the changing worlds of the stage show. We feel we ended up with a very strong and well balanced set mixing songs we haven’t played in many years like ‘Flight of Icarus,’ ‘Sign of The Cross’ and ‘The Clansman’ with songs we know the fans want to hear like ‘The Trooper,’ ‘2 Minutes to Midnight,’ ‘The Number of The Beast,’ ‘Fear of The Dark,’ ‘Run to The Hills,’ ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’ and others, reflecting the journey through the different themes of the show.

    Tickets for most shows go on sale Nov. 16 at 10:00 a.m. local time. British band The Raven Age, which includes Harris’s son, George on guitar, will be the opener with Fozzy opening the Los Angeles show.

    The North American leg is continuing the tour that sold out venues across Europe last year and included props such as a full-scale WWII-era Spitfire plane flying above the stage during the Powerslave track, “Aces High.”

    The production is based around the Legacy of the Beast mobile game that takes the band’s mascot Eddie through various adventures though Iron Maiden’s history.

  • Lettuce Announces Busy January Tour

    Lettuce launches the far-reaching and fast-paced Vibe Up 2019 tour in Rochester on Jan.10. The funk group will return to New York later for performances at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Jan. 12 and at Brooklyn Steel on Jan. 19.

    The band’s legendary career spans two decades. Their sound has matured and “stewed” to perfection over time as evidenced on their latest album Witches Stew. The new album is contemporary jazz fusion inspired by and in tribute to Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew. It would be an oversight to ignore that music like Davis’ was what influenced and initially drew the group together at Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 1992.

  • Kiss offers one last kiss to fans

    Joining the ever growing line of farewell rock tours, legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, Kiss, have decided to throw their hats, or in their case, boots on the shelf but not before one more long kiss goodbye to fans around the world.

    Kiss has announced over 40 shows for the first leg of their “The End of the Road Farewell Tour,” which is expected to span over three years time. Several rumors have circulated about what lineup would take part in one final ride into the sunset. Gene Simmons in a recent interview wouldn’t confirm, or deny if any of the remaining past Kiss members would join the current lineup. Simmons would only state that it has been discussed. Paul Stanley then noted that this tour is a celebration of Kiss, and not any individual lineup or member.

    The Farewell Tour will make two stops in the Empire State during the first run of tour dates; March 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale and March 27 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Tickets go on sale Nov. 2, at 10 a.m.

    Kiss formed in New York City in 1973. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

  • Ariana Grande Begins Her Sweetener World Tour in Albany

    Singer-songwriter Ariana Grande will return to the Capital Region for the first time since her Honeymoon Avenue World Tour in 2015, and kicks off her 4th World Tour, featuring her new album Sweetener, at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY on March 18, 2019. Ticket pre-sale for the Sweetener World Tour begins November 1st through November 3rd via American Express.

    The pop princess revealed on Wednesday October 24 via Twitter that she would soon announce the world tour dates for her latest album, released in August earlier this year. Not one to disappoint, the next day Grande shared her initial U.S. performances on arianagrande.com as well as posting them on her Twitter. The singer has promised that fans abroad can expect international tour dates to be announced.

    Former Victorious actress is also planning on making three other appearances in New York during the course of her tour, one in Western NY followed up by hitting two major performance venues in NYC. Falling soon after her Albany concert, Grande’s third Sweetener performance brings her to the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY on March 22, 2019. The last two dates announced for the U.S.-portion of the Sweetener tour are June 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the famous Madison Square Garden on June 18, 2019.
