  • Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless to Seduce Washington Avenue Armory this Spring

    The Washington Avenue Armory will host the lone New York date for the upcoming Halestorm/The Pretty Reckless tour on Tuesday May 5, presented by Carnival Of Madness.

    After a year absence, the Carnival of Madness brand is back but not in the form of an actual Carnival of Madness tour. Carnival is actually presenting the tour and is powered by Monster Energy.

    Carnival’s Facebook page at the end of 2014 hinted at something special for the fans in 2015 with the possibility of two tours to make up for the loss of not being able to put a show together for 2014.

    Halestorm posted on their facebook page that another opener will be added soon to the line-up. The tour will stop in 14 cities so far through the U.S this spring with more dates being added.

    Two of the hottest women in rock music in Hale and Momsen will grace the stage on the same night in Albany. Every rock fan in the Capital Region should try to witness these amazing women in action.

    Halestorm is no stranger to the Carnival of Madness brand. The band was on the Carnival of Madness tour in 2012. Halestorm will be supporting their soon to be released third studio effort Into the Wild Life on April 7 2015. Their first single off the album Apocalyptic has been released to rock stations everywhere gaining positive reviews.

    With hits like “Familiar Taste of Poison,” “I Get Off,” “Love Bites” and “I Miss The Misery,” Halestorm has become a huge fan favorite for many music fans besides rock fans. Hales beautiful medlodic power vocals has virturaly made her a rock/metal goddess

    The Pretty Reckless is currently on their second studio effort Going to Hell released in early 2014. The album consists of the hits “Heaven Knows,” “Messed Up World” and current single “Follow Me Down.” Former Gossip Girl star Momsen is starting to make a name for herself in the genre with her live performances and unique style.

  • Interpol Announce 2015 Tour

    Interpol have announced a 2015 tour behind their latest album El Pintor. The album has garnered rave reviews from the music community and the band hit markets throughout the country as well as overseas in the fall of 2014.

    These dates also include make up dates for Boston and Montreal from the incredible snow storm that took place last November. Interpol will be hitting Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn on  July 21 and then coming to Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on July 29 to close out the tour. Tickets are on a pre-sale now through the band and go on public sale 10AM on Friday. All tour dates can be seen below.

  • Where Does the Time Go? moe. to Kick off 25th Anniversary at Town Ballroom

    It was a mere 25 years ago in the winter of 1990 when a group of guys got together using the name “Five Guys Named moe.” and since that faithful night, 20 studio and live albums, 15 moe.downs, 15 Summer Camps and thousands of fans of moe. have come to love the band formed in Buffalo. They kick off their 25th anniversary tour in the same city they started in with two nights at the Town Ballroom,

    Friday January 23 and Saturday January 24. The band is coming off the very successful release of  No Guts, No Glory and recently wrapped up their destination concert Throe.down in Jamaica. The climate outside may be quite the change from the Caribbean but you can certainly guarantee that it will be hotter than ever in the venue. Don’t delay on getting tickets and come celebrate arguably the greatest live music act to come out of Buffalo, NY.

  • Biohazard, Sworn Enemy Announce Tour

    Brooklyn, NY hardcore metallers Biohazard announced a brief east coast tour for the upcoming spring, with Queens, NY hardcore outfit Sworn Enemy joining them once again. The tour kicks off in Amityville, NY at Revolution Music Hall on March 27, and ends in Jacksonville, FL at the Southeast Beast Fest. The tour also includes a stop at Bogies in Albany.

    Making a special guest appearance, the show in Amityville includes a set from Zire’s War, a new band featuring Joey Zampella from Life Of Agony, who made their debut last October.

    In other news, Biohazard has been hard at work on their tenth studio album tentatively due this year to be release via Nuclear Blast America. This album would mark the first time with the lineup of Billy Graziadei, Bobby Hambel, Danny Schuler, and Scott Roberts.

  • Davenport Cabinet Releases Lyric Video, “Sorry for Me”

    Davenport Cabinet, the Warwick, NY – based rock band, released a lyric video for “Sorry for Me,” a song off of their newest album, Damned Renegades, via YouTube on January 14th.

    The band features Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever on lead vocals and guitar, Tyler Close on co – lead vocals and guitar, Tom Farkas on bass, and Michael Hickey on drums. Damned Renegades is their fourth record. It can be purchased through the band, or on iTunes.

  • Saranac Lake’s Winter Carnival 2015

The north country tradition that leads back to the 1800s, when Saranac Lake was a healing place for tuberculosis sufferers, who sought rejuvenation. Locals relished in any opportunity to celebrate health and well-being throughout each season, the traditions continue today with a wide range of events and activities.

    A definite highlight of these shows will be the Saranac Lake based, Blind Owl Band, who are returning to touring after a six month break. Fans are excited to see these hometown mountain music folks get down.

  • The Grateful Dead Announce ‘Fare Thee Well’ tour in Celebration of 50th Anniversary

    After much gossip and speculation, this morning, Deadheads everywhere received the confirmation they had been waiting for; The four core members of the Grateful Dead will reunite for their Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 years of the Grateful Dead tour. The event will take place for a three-night run at Chicago’s Soldier Field, July 3, 4 & 5. Appearing with the original four members each night will be, Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti.

    The announcement came in a video by Trixie Garcia, founding member Jerry Garcia’s daughter. Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead nearly twenty-years to the day, of the last Grateful Dead show, which also took place at Soldier Field. These concerts will mark the Grateful Dead members’ final performance together, fans are illuminated with joy over the opportunity to celebrate with the band.

    Tickets will be available through the traditional tickets by mail service on a first come first served basis, beginning on January 20. An online pre-sale through Dead Online Ticketing on Feb. 12, followed by a regular onsale via Ticketmaster Feb. 14. Detailed ticket info can be found at Dead50.net.

  • St. Vincent Announces Reissue of ‘St. Vincent’ album

    St. Vincent albumManhattan based experimental musician Annie Clark, more commonly known by her stage name, St. Vincent, announced that she plans to reissue her newest album, St. Vincent, as a deluxe edition with five new songs, set to launch on Feb. 10.

    St. Vincent said that alongside the unreleased songs, the reissue will contain remixes as well as digitized versions of “Pieta” and “Sparrow” which previously were only officially released on vinyl. She also said that one new title will be “Bad Believer.”

    The reissue will be available through St. Vincent, iTunes, and retailers.

  • The Blind Owl Band Returns to Tour in 2015

  • Umphrey’s McGee hits the Beacon Theater and The Paramount this weekend with Joshua Redman

    Following a monstrous “All In Time” second set opener on January 18, 2014, Brendan Bayliss stepped to the mic to thank those in attendance. He noted “The first time we played (in New York City) was in the basement of the Wetlands and there were about 20 people that got to see us because we were playing outside the door of the bathroom.” As expected, the South Bend progressive jam outfit will continue a two year tradition with their return to the Beacon Theater on January 16 and 17 with special guest Joshua Redman.

    In their Beacon debut the six piece took on one night, but 2014 and this year have shown that just one wouldn’t be enough. The energy that is emitted from playing a big room has only seemed to fuel the progression in where they take their music and Jefferson Waful’s elaborate production. 2013’s “Ocean Billy” and 2014’s “Puppet String” indicate that a step up in size also speaks for the music. Umphrey’s has been known for their creative mashups and covers like “Life During Exodus” and Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi,” so even people unfamiliar with their material will recognize a few songs played.

    Saxophonist Joshua Redman will add to the mix for both Beacon shows and the Huntington stop on Sunday. Redman has played with Umphrey’s before, the most notable being the 2013 New Years Eve run where they collaborated for a powerful “1348.” Look for something similar in energy when the seven musicians clash this time around.

    Tickets for Saturday are sold out, but you can still purchase tickets for Friday at Ticketmaster. Doors for both shows are listed as eight, while the showtimes are at 9.
