    Spotify has posted the bands that will be part of Slipknot’s

    KnotFest of course the festival will be headlined by Slipknot themselves and will see 50 bands and five stages for the two-day event in San Bernardino, California on Oct. 24 and 25.

    Some of those names include Judas Priest, Bring Me The Horizon, Korn, Mastodon, Clutch, Corrosion Of Conformity, Trivium, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, At The Gates, Suicidal Tendencies, Cannibal Corpse, Body Count, Gwar, All That Remains, Helmet, Born Of Osiris, Red Fang, Snot, The Sword, Battlecross, Goatwhore, Devour The Day, Beartooth, Kyng, Kataklysm, Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus and Belphegor.

  • Disturbed End Hiatus And Reunite With New Single And Album

    More than “Ten Thousand Fist’s” will be in the air as Disturbed fans everywhere will once again be able to get “Down With The Sickness.” After almost four years, the wait is finally over. Disturbed has announced that they will indeed end their hiatus as they released a new single to radio called “The Vengeful One.” Disturbed will also release a new album titled Immortalized on Aug. 21 which is available for pre-order.

    On June 20, fans saw the band post a picture of a new Disturbed logo, and the first of three short cartoon video clips of their mascot “The Guy,” on their Facebook page. Each Clip saw The Guy become more and more to life leading up to an official announcement from the band on what these video clips actually mean. June 22 saw an official countdown clock appear on the band’s website.

    Disturbed went on hiatus in Oct. 2011. Since then, members of the band have all worked on different side projects in other bands. David Draiman started the side project Device as Mike Wengren and Dan Donegan took part in the band Fight or Flight and John Moyer joined Adrenaline Mob.

    Disturbed has released five studio albums in their career. Those releases include The Sickness (2000) –  Believe (2002) – Ten Thousand Fists (2005) – Indestructible (2008) and Asylum (2010). A month after their planned hiatus, Disturbed released a compilation album of unreleased tracks cleverly titled The Lost Children.

    Every Disturbed fan including myself, will be locked onto the bands Facebook page in anticipation of an official announcement as to what the videos actually mean. The band has currently been on hiatus since October of 2011. Since then all of the band members have found themselves playing in side projects.

  • Metal Allegiance To Release Debut Album

    So, what do you get when you mix members of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera and Lamb of God? The answer is, you get the supergroup Metal Allegiance.

    With many rock bands touring with each other throughout the years, one can only expect that some of these guys will in fact become friends with each other from their common bond of music, among other things.

    Something that could arise from these situations, and seems to happen more than ever these days, is that “supergroups” form through these friendships.

    Allegiance was formed in 2011 by Mark Menghi, who is a creative marketing director in New York. The band started with Alex Skolnick and Mike Portnoy from Testament and Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson as the core members. Since then, some of metal’s biggest names are throwing their hat in the ring for the self-titled debut studio album with all original material on Sept. 18.

  • Members From KoЯn and Slipknot Have a Sit Down

    KoЯn members Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Schaffer recently sat down at the “Metal Roundtable” and had a discussion with Slipknot members Jim Root and Mick Thomson for Musicradar.com. In this discussion bands members talk about their various different experiences that have happened throughout their careers so far.

  • Of Mice and Men’s Austin Carlile Hospitalized

    Austin Carlile — singer for Of Mice & Men — was hospitalized for undisclosed reasons forcing the band to cancel the remaining dates of the “Full Circle Tour” in San Diego and Mexico City.

    “Austin Carlile was admitted to a hospital yesterday morning, and, per doctor’s orders, has been kept in overnight for evaluation. The band regrets not being able to perform for their fans and hopes to be back in [San Diego and Mexico City] as soon as possible.

    “Refunds for both shows will be available at point of purchase. However, Of Mice & Men are planning to reschedule both shows for a later date in the year. We will have more news on this in the coming weeks and tickets holders are welcome to retain their tickets, as they will remain valid for these rescheduled dates.”

  • Pantera To Headline Future Mayhem Festival?

    Could Pantera finally reunite and headline a future Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival? Probably not but you never know, but if tour co-founder John Reese had his way it would have happened already Reese said in an interview with Examiner.com. Reese even went as far as to saying that he even approached the remaining member’s about the venture.

    pantera mayhem festivalReese stated “I’ve even approached them about doing it. Do I think it’s going to happen? I have no idea. I know that a heavy, heavy tragedy happened and there are some hard feelings, but it’s up to those three dudes to decide if they ever want to do something or not. If they would decide to do I would support it wholeheartedly and I would do whatever I could to be involved. But it’s up to them.”

    Still shaken by his brother’s death for over 10 years now. Vinnie Paul has stated “Dime was Pantera,” he as has also stated about the possibility of a reunion “it would never happen and not interested.” Of course frontman Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown are open to the idea even with the bad blood that still remains between Paul and Anselmo. In 2004 Dimebag Darrell was shot and murdered by a fan on stage during the first minute of the first song in the set of a Damage Plan show in Columbus, Ohio.

    Pantera released nine studio albums before the band officially broke in 2003.

  • Monster Energy Presents: Rock Allegiance Festival

    The “World’s Loudest Month” just wrapped up with Rockfest in Kansas City, Missouri – but rock fans have more to look forward to later this year. Yesterday the Monster Energy Rock Allegiance festival lineup was announced for Saturday, Oct. 10 at PPL Park in Chester, PA.

    The lineup consists of some of rock’s biggest names including Rob Zombie and Korn. With Rock Allegiance only being a one-day festival, fans don’t have to wait all weekend to catch their favorite bands; they get to see all of them in one day. Also making appearances at Rock Allegiance are Godsmack and Five Finger Death Punch, who were both present for many festivals throughout May.

    Five Finger Death Punch is bringing Papa Roach, In This Moment and From Ashes To New along with them since they will be hitting the road together this fall. If that wasn’t enough, fans can get ready for sets from Bring Me The Horizon, Atreyu, and Hollywood Undead. Those who went to Rock On The Range were treated to a special guest which turned out to be the newly formed Saint Asonia, featuring Adam Gontier, formally of Three Days Grace and Mike Mushok of Staind. Saint Asonia will be playing at Rock Allegiance as well.

    There’s not going to be much time for those who like to party outside the venue before the show because there are many more awesome bands who play earlier in the day. Some of those bands are Pop Evil, Nothing More, Butcher Babies, Art Of Dying, Glorious Sons, and Temperance Movement. The earliest acts of the day will consist of sets from the Charm City Devils, Devour The Day, Unlocking The Truth, Dorothy and more.

    If ending the night with sets from Korn and Rob Zombie wasn’t enough, there’s even an after party with Steel Panther! Best of all, tickets go on sale June 2nd at special early bird pricing!   • Hearing Aide: Coal Chamber ‘Rivals’

    After being away for over a decade plus, Coal Chamber has rediscovered their furious chemistry and unleashed Rivals, released by Napalm Records and produced by Mark Lewis who has worked wonders with bands like Trivium and DevilDriver. This album delivers and lives up to the hype that was brought forth, however, does it enhance Coal Chamber’s legacy even further?

    It starts off with a fast stylish track “I.O.U. Nothing” which appropriately opens with screeching guitars from Meegs with a fast nu metal beat from Mikey Cox, and Dez Farara’s brutal vocals hasn’t aged one bit. The second track “Bad Blood Between Us” has a slower tempo but everything gets dark and haunting with “Light In The Shadows” something you would expect from vintage Coal Chamber. I saw an interview with Dez Fafara a few weeks back where he stated that this album isn’t a “throwback album” but honestly to me, it is. I’m not saying it sounds like the previous three albums, but it certainly sounds like classic Coal Chamber and everything you would expect from this band, however, they tastefully made this album for 2015 because it is more mature sounding.

    The track “Suffer In Silence” is a real behemoth track. Ministry’s Al Jourgensen makes a guest appearance on this track to make this one a real stand out. Another real stand out track is “Another Nail In The Coffin” because it’s a heavy and erratic. It speeds up, it slows down, it breaks down and Fafara’s vocal tracks are arranged all over the place. Kudos to producer Mark Lewis for being tactical on mixing this track. After the title track and single “Rivals,” the track “Wait” is a fun and catchy song with a real nice groove to it.

    Towards the end of the record “Fade Away (Karma Never Forgets)” is really catchy then it ends hard and fast with “Empty Handed” thus marking an album that is candidate for one of the best albums of 2015. This album proves Coal Chamber is back with a vengeance, picks up where they left off and has us all wanting more. I would highly recommend picking this one up and catch Coal Chamber play these songs live.
