Norwegian duo Oakland Rain will join folk singer-songwriter Judy Collins in Westbury and New York City with the release of their first English album, Twin Flames Part I: The Evergreen.
Maren and Charlotte of Oakland Rain’s Twin Flames Part I: The Evergreen, now available to stream, blends earthy Americana with Nordic influences, exploring the delicate balance between fear and freedom while drawing inspiration from the duo’s Norwegian-American heritage. Oakland Rain examines themes of mental health, personal growth, community, self-discovery and more. With central ideas surrounding nature, the duo reflects on the contrasts between the tangible and intangible. The two sides of the double album projects reflect different focuses; The Evergreen focuses on realism, whereas Heavenly Blue explores escapism.
Oakland Rain will join their third U.S. tour with Judy Collins, a fellow folk artist and inspiration from their youth. The duo takes inspiration from Judy Collins by their grandparents, who shared music from artists like Collins, Simon & Garfunkel and Elvis Presley, to the twin sisters at a young age, helping their creative sensibilities.
Since their debut EP, Oakland Rain has amassed over 3 million Spotify streams, with praise from music outlets like Billboard and features in prominent Norwegian cultural events.
