NYC-based indie-folk group Rookie Mistake have released their debut EP I Will Not Die in Upstate New York on March 29. The album is full of intriguing sound and promising talent.
Rookie Mistake is made up of Nick Fioravanti, Gianna Minerva, Justin Gambardella, and Ethan Brown. They were originally formed in May 2022 in college at SUNY Oneonta and are currently based in the NYC Metro. They’re excited to share their debut EP, I Will Not Die in Upstate New York after playing house shows and small clubs around New York State.
The group is heavily swayed by artists from genres like folk, indie, alternative, and classic rock. You can hear similarities to groups like Joy Again, The Walters, The Lumineers, and Mumford and Sons. The group refuses to conform to a specific genre. They have elements of folk, indie, bluegrass, and glimpses of alternative.
The opening track “I Will Not Die in Upstate New York” sets the tone of the EP with a heavy emphasis on acoustic folk, but still gripping the indie sound. It is a story of returning home, leaving the past behind, traveling far and wide and living life. The next track “Fortune Cookie” is quite laid back, but transforms into a heartfelt, hopeful and fast-paced tune. This track really shows the singer’s heavier vocals and the instrumental capabilities as more than just soft folk.
When the song “Trampoline” plays, the band really starts to show their indie roots. They prove their talents are simply multi-dimensional. “Famous” and “I Love it Here” bring back those soft, folk elements and showcases that the band can play a range of sound and can make indie-folk really pop. The songs are filled with depth, both emotionally and instrumentally.

Singer-songwriter Terre Roche of thelegendary NYC sibling folk trio, The Roches has announced the release of album INNER ADULT. Along with this, Terre also dropped her single, “Fish Out of Water,” on April 10.
Terre Roche has written and performed music across the country for over 50 years. Her colorful and celebrated music career refuses to let up as Roche dropped “Fish Out of Water” April 10. The upcoming album INNER ADULT sees Terre continue to add depth to her folk/rock library and will also be released as a limited-edition book featuring illustrations by Terre, song lyrics, photographs, and more.
The album released is to be celebrated May 20 with a show at City Winery Loft in NYC.
The single “Fish Out of Water” has a soothing, yet mesmerizing aura to it. This is a sound only the most talented artists can achieve. The theme of change, growth, moving on, is perfectly embodied by the soft and hopeful acoustic sound. Terre Roche’s vocals are somber yet sweet.
Terre Roche proved that she still has the ear, the mind, and the talent to put out folk works like this no matter the decade. Longevity in an artist is paramount and Terre has it. The sounds lull you while the lyrics keep you thinking. The track is simple in sound but profound in writing. It is simply great.

Kristin Flammio & the Pretty Bitchin are excited to celebrate the release of their next single “Never Too High” on April 20 with a release show on Wednesday May 8th at The Broadway in NYC.
Kristin Flammio & the Pretty Bitchin delivers a strong love letter of empowering and fun rock and roll with a nod to pop, country and dance. The Brooklyn based four-piece, formed in 2019, consists of Kristin Flammio, Jericho Davidson, Matt Puckett and Will Noland. The band released their debut album, If You Want to Leave in 2021 and their crowd favorite, “Not This Time” in November 2023. Finally, the group is back at it with the release of “Never Too High” on April 20.
Kristin Flammio & the Pretty Bitchin’s upcoming new track, “Never Too High” is cleverly releasing on 4/20. The track is explosive with energy and feel-good. The song has been stuck in my head ever since the first listen. It certainly has the sound and atmosphere of a hit single. Punchy drums, joyous melodies, a soaring voice define this track as something to behold.
“Never Too High” has a classic indie vibe, reminiscent of Florence and the Machine. Influence from alternative, pop, pop-punk, and indie groups are more than apparent. This group utilizes sounds from all across rock and roll to craft their music. “Never Too High” is a prime example of this.

Dan Gerken, a staple of the Albany music scene, has debuted his most recent project from Jericho Sailors with the single “Silver Miner.”
Known for his work as the guitarist and singer for Timbre Coup, Gerken has moved on to a new position with Jericho Sailors, contributing his skills to bass, piano, guitars, and lyrics in addition to vocals. Jericho Sailors, accompanied by drummer Dave Berger, creates a sound that is both modern and symbolic of classic Western twang with rock and blues aspects.
With the release of their first single, “Silver Miner,” on March 29, Jericho Sailors are off to a promising start. Setting the tone for an amazing album full of equally captivating material, “Silver Miner” is a blend of blues and blues rock with Western influences.
In a recent statement, Dan Gerken said, “We have a whole album of material, and I want to build up a little then release what I consider to be some of my best writing.” This feeling is reflected in the lyrics of “Silver Miner,” where listeners are struck by themes of reflection and longing:
“Last couple miles on empty, I see the setting sun and it tempts me, return to the land of the plenty, Hold your own, know your soul, come and join the many.”
The distinctive “Dark Country” vibes and boogie shuffles of Jericho Sailors takes listeners to the heart of the American West and leaves them wanting more. For that reason, Jericho Sailors is well worth a listen.

On the heels of back-to-back chart topping albums, Future and Metro Boomin will be bringing live performances to an arena near you after announcing a “We Trust You” North American tour, with a performance at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center set for the summer.
Notably, Future and and frequent collaborator/ producer Metro Boomin took the internet by storm with the release of We Don’t Trust You on March 22, creating plenty of social media fodder with disses to Drake littered throughout the album, including the heavily deliberated Kendrick Lamar verse aimed at Drake and J. Cole. Less than 3 weeks later the duo made more waves with the release of a second, double-album in We Still Don’t Trust You, serving as melodic counter to the heavily trap influenced predecessor. In like manner, the latter is expected to have high first-week numbers in another chart-topping effort from the prolific duo.
Future and Metro Boomin’s “We Trust You” tour comes to Brooklyn this summer.
“We Trust Your Tour” Details
Thus, the duo announce their “We Trust You Tour” that will see them perform throughout the United States along with two notable dates in Canada roughly a month apart, including an August 11 stop in Drake’s hometown of Toronto. Presented by Live Nation, the “We Trust You Tour” begins on July 30 and will see the duo perform 27 dates in roughly a month-and-a-half. Moreover, they will bring the show to the Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with an August 15 date in New York City, before closing out the tour in Canada with a September 9 performance in Vancouver. Other notable stops include performances in Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Presale tickets for the “We Trust You Tour” are available Wednesday, April 17 for Cash App card customers, starting at 10 a.m. local time. Additionally, general sale will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. local time on livenation.com.
DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg stay tapped in with the streets as two of hip hop’s most revered figures come together for the official music video to their latest single “Can U Dig That?.” After releasing the single a few weeks ago, the duo have now come together adding visuals to their groovy west coast track. Featuring cousin and fellow original Death Row records signee Daz Dillinger, “Can U Dig That?” pays ode to the state of California, their hip hop legends, and the urban life profiled throughout many of their songs.
Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger and DJ Premier pay tribute to the West coast in their new single.
“Can U Dig That?” Official Video
In light the music video follows a similar path as the record. Notably, Snoop Dogg is seen at a roundtable with with Daz Dillinger with DJ Premier on the 1’s and 2’s as the duo enjoy a trademark joint while Snoop reminisces on his journey as a West Coast native. Similarly, the record contains plenty of famous name drops as Snoop pays tribute to some of California’s most recognizable faces in hip hop, including Easy-E, E-40 and Ice-T. With a backdrop of a G-funk inspired beat with the now-iconic DJ Premier record scratches, Snoop also pays tribute to inner-city California life encapsulating the overall vibe of the Wes Coast. Uniquely while Snoop acknowledged the shootouts, those “on the yard,” he puts a positive twist to the record urging for the beef in the West come to an end.
Though Premier and Snoop have worked together previously; Snoop appeared on Gang Starr’s The Ownerz Album (“In The Life…”), Premier produced two songs on Snoop’s Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss album, “Unfucwitable” feat The Lady Of Rage from Snoop’s Doggy Style Allstars Vol. 1, “Can U Dig That?” is their first collaboration under DJ Premier and Ian Schwartzman’s independent imprint TTT.
