  • Nelly Announces 2 NY Shows in “Where The Party At” Tour

    Music superstar Nelly will hit the road in 2025 with his “Where The Party At Tour.” The tour will celebrate the 25 anniversary of Nelly’s debut studio album, Country Grammar and includes dates at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo on Aug. 1, and Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on Jul. 27.

    Known for iconic 2000’s hits such as “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma,” Nelly will perform his catalog across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Europe, and the United States in 54 shows in the “Where The Party At Tour.” The tour will marks Nelly’s return to headlining following his success as a special guest for Janet Jackson’s Together Again Tour.

    An incredible lineup of special guests will accompany Nelly across the various legs of the tour. Fans can look forward to electric performances from collaborators and friends such as Ja Rule, Eve, St. Lunatics, Fabolous, Jermaine Dupri, Chingy and Additional surprise guests.

    The show will take fans on a journey through Nelly’s career, including chart-topping hits like “Hot in Herre,” “Dilemma,” and “Ride wit Me.” Known for his larger-than-life personality and ability to bridge genres from hip-hop to country. Nelly promises a show packed with surprises.

  • Thomas Rhett Announces Return to the Road with Better in Boots Tour, 4 Shows in NY

    Multi-platinum country artist Thomas Rhett has announced his 2025 return to the road with new “Better in Boots Tour.” The North American tour includes four dates in New York State at four venues.

    Thomas Rhett brings his energy to 30 cities next summer across North America, including stops at Jones Beach Theater, Darien Lake Amphitheater, SPAC, and Empower FCU.

    The “Better in Boots Tour” announcement comes on the heels of the release of Thomas Rhett’s acclaimed seventh studio album, About a Woman. This 14-track collection showcases Rhett’s powerful style while exploring new boundaries of the genre.

    The summer tour kicks off on June 5 in Rogers, Arkansas and concludes September 26 in Ridgefield, Washington. The tour sees four stops in NY beginning June 12 at SPAC. July 12 Thomas Rhett sees the stage at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island. Following these dates, the tour moves to Darien Lake Amphitheater in Darien Center on August 7 and Empower FCU in Syracuse on August 21.

  • Avril Lavigne Rocks Darien Lake with Simple Plan, girlfriends

    Avril Lavigne and opening acts girlfriends and Simple Plan put on an electrifying show at Darien Lake Amphitheater this past Tuesday, August 20 for old and new fans showing that the emo genre is here to stay wasn’t just a phase.

    Kicking off the night were girlfriends who brought an intense and energetic performance with Travis, Nick, and the rest of the band maintaining a high level of energy from start to finish.

    Performing hits such as “Shut Up and Kiss Me,” “I Thought About You While I Was Taking a Shower,” and ” California” from their recent albums (e)motion sickness (2022) as well as self-titled debut album girlfriends (2020), the band was in true warm up form, channeling the headliner in their angst.

    Following girlfriends was the pop-punk legend Simple Plan. They continued the high energy set by girlfriends and took it to the next level. Pierre Bouvier’s crowd interaction was outstanding, and the band’s attention to detail in engaging the crowd was truly remarkable.

    Throughout their set, the audience enthusiastically sang along with the band, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The night was filled with iconic songs such as “I’d Do Anything,” “Welcome to My Life,” “Summer Paradise.” They also sang favorites like the Scooby-Doo theme song, during which they invited fans dressed as Scooby-Doo to join them on stage, and the timeless anthem “I’m Just a Kid.”

    At last the iconic princess, or rather the queen of the early 2000s pop-punk era, Avril Lavigne, took the stage. Her entrance featured her past album covers, early interviews, and clips from her early career, all leading up to her grand appearance on stage. When she emerged, the crowd went wild, and she kicked off with the song “Girlfriend.”

    Throughout the night, Avril had the audience in the palm of her hand, taking them on the ride of their lives. Her audience was one of the loudest of my concert season, and you could truly feel the love that her fans have for her, as well as her gratitude for every single one of them that night.

    She followed up with the songs “What the Hell” and “Complicated.” During her set, she brought out Simple Plan, and they sang Simple Plan’s “Addicted” together. Avril ended the night with the iconic song “I’m With You,” and she had everyone singing along with her. She’ll be back in New York on August 27 in Wantagh at Jones Beach Theater.

  • Chris Stapleton and Marcus King Pack Darien Lake

    Playing to a sold-out crowd, Chris Stapleton brought his country rock show to Darien Lake Amphitheater on July 11. With support from Marcus King and Nikki Lane, the crowd of nearly 21,000 was treated to a night of amazing music and perfect weather to compliment.

    Not really new to music, Marcus King is taking country music scene by storm in recent years. With heavy mix of southern rock and classic country licks, King delivers a stellar performance as he precedes the headliner on stage.

    King’s touring band includes, Jack Ryan on drums, Stephen Campbell on bass, Drew Smithers on guitar, Mike Runyon on keys, and Chris Spies on sax.

    Heavily influenced by acts like the Allman Brothers and Waylon Jennings, King produces the perfect sounds for a hot summer day.

    Chatting up conversation with fans lined up at the photo pit barricade, I came across young and old fans like. There was a young lady dressed as Stapleton, who was attending her first concert. There were best friends who splurged to get up close, and there were families front and center ready to tap their boots to some “Tennessee Whiskey.” Parenting done right, it will always bring a smile to my face to see children at the front the shows. Music is awesome, but live music like that is on a whole other level.

    Running about 15 minutes late, Stapleton hit the stage to a loud and boisterous round of cheers and applause as he immediately rolled into “White Horse”, “Nobody to Blame”, and “Second One to Know.” For some it was the first time seeing the country star, for others it was another notch in the belt. Either way, Stapleton had the fans on their toes for the next 90 minutes.

    Not one for much chatter during the set, Stapleton rolled through the 23-song set with his wife, Morgane, within arm’s reach. Providing background vocals as well as duets with her husband on most songs, she makes them quite a dynamic duo.

    21,000 fans packed into lawn and shell seats for a night of amazing music and 21,000 fans were treated to an unbelievable show by a country mega star and a mega star in the making. This was a night to remember for so many, especially for that young lady in front who got see Chris Stapleton from the very front row.

    Leaving the show a little early avoid the notoriously horrific Darien Lake parking lot traffic, you could still hear Stapleton belting out “Fire Away”, “Tennessee Whiskey”, and “Broken Halos”. As I made my way to my car, the crowd was perfectly in sync, just as they were from the first note of the night.

    Stapleton continues his tour with Lane and King this summer, as well as stops to perform with George Strait along the way.

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Sell Out Darien Lake

    On a perfect summer night for a rock concert, the Red Hot Chili Peppers delivered a sensational sold-out show at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 12, marking a standout stop on their 2022-2024 Global Stadium Tour.

    The concert kicked off with bassist Flea handstand walking over to his bass and immediately jumping into an electrifying and psychedelic jam with guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith. This set an upbeat tone that seamlessly transitioned into “Around the World” as vocalist Anthony Kiedis took the stage to a massive roar.

    From the very start, the band’s energy was at full blast, capturing the crowd’s enthusiasm. Fan-favorite “Dani California” followed, turning the amphitheater into a sea of singing and dancing.

    The setlist showcased the Chili Peppers’ versatility, balancing timeless hits with fresh material. “The Zephyr Song” offered mellow vibes, while “Aquatic Mouth Dance” introduced a new, experimental flavor. The crowd was treated to a heartfelt cover of “I Remember You” by The Ramones, a nod to the band’s punk influences.

    The performance continued to build momentum with “Hey” and the band followed up with another Ramones cover, “Havana Affair,” keeping the energy high. The raw power of “Suck My Kiss” and the emotive “Soul to Squeeze” provided a mix of intensity and introspection. The anthem-like “Carry Me Home” led into fan favorite “Californication,” which had the entire amphitheater singing along.

    The night’s encore began with a stirring rendition of “Under the Bridge” and concluding on a high note with “Give It Away”, capping off a night of high-energy rock and funk.

    The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ performance at Darien Lake was a testament to their long career and legacy. Their setlist combined classic hits with newer tracks, ensuring a memorable experience for fans. The band’s dynamic stage presence and ability to create an engaging atmosphere reinforced their status as one of rock’s most enduring and exciting acts.

  • Barbie The Movie: In Concert Hosted by Jones Beach and Darien Lake Amphitheaters this Summer

    Jones Beach and Darien Lake have announced Barbie The Movie: In Concert sees the stage this August. The shows are a part of the Barbie In Concert 2024 Summer Tour, led by Macy Schmidt and the Barbie Land Sinfonietta.

    Fans across North America will have the opportunity to be transported to Barbie Land this summer and experience Barbie like never before. The tour will include an all-women orchestra which will accompany the record-smashing film’s display on a giant LED screen. The tour sees 37 dates across the United States.

  • James Taylor and His All-Star Band to Perform in Buffalo, Syracuse, Wantagh and Saratoga This Summer

    Legendary singer/songwriter James Taylor and his All-Star band are coming to New York this summer.

    As part of his tour, the artist will perform at the Darien Lake Amphitheater on June 25, the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview Syracuse on June 26, at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel on June 28 and later return at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on August 31 and at the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs on September 2.  

    Taylor is known for his covers, such as “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” and “Handy Man”, as well as originals such as “Sweet Baby James”. The singer is also known for playing the leading role in Monte Hellman’s 1971 film Two-Lane Blacktop.

    As a recording and touring artist, James is known for touching fans with his warm baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 50 years, while setting a precedent to which countless young musicians have aspired. Since the release of his self-titled debut album in 1968, he has sold more than 100 million albums during the course of his successful songwriting and performing career, earning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards.

    In early 2020, the songwriters hall of famer (2000) released “Break Shot”, a deeply personal and authentic audio-only memoir detailing his first 21 years. In addition, he also dropped American Standard, his 19th studio album, which made him the first musician to have a Billboard Top 10 album in each of the previous six decades and won him the 2021 Grammy Award for best traditional pop vocal album. 

    James has done a lot of touring in Europe, Canada, and the US in recent years. This summer, he will be joined by his All-star band; Kate Markowitz on vocals, Dorian Holley on vocals, Andrea Zonn on vocals and fiddle, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Steve Gadd on drums, Dean Parks on guitar, and Kevin Hays on keyboards.

  • Dierks Bentley Returns to the Road with Stops in Darien, Syracuse, and Saratoga Springs

    Dierks Bentley has announced his return to the road this summer with the “Gravel & Gold Tour.” The tour will see three dates in New York. Darien Lake Amphitheater, SPAC in Saratoga, and Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater in Syracuse will all host Bentley.

    Dierks Bentely is one of country music’s biggest names today. Since his first publishing deal in 2001, Bentley has consistently landed himself at the top of the country music charts. Bentley has been a mainstay of country culture, with trendy, popular sound and a lovable attitude.

    Along with this, Dierks Bentley has been a part of several other professional endeavors. He has been involved with Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection Desert Son, along with his four “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row” locations.

    “The Gravel & Gold tour has been the best of my career, and I’m not ready to leave it behind. We are so locked in with this production that it allows me to be living right in the moment with the fans, and that’s the magic! I’m bringing along some old friends and some newer artists who are all putting their own unique spin on country, bluegrass and Americana music. I can’t wait to watch their shows and hopefully sing with them too. Those collaborations are a highlight of my summer every year.”

    Dierk’s music is feel-good, pop-country, with an emphasis on having a good time no matter where you are, like in his now decade-old song, “Drunk on a Plane.” It is very much summery, beer-drinking, good-time tune. His upcoming tour will certainly reflect those vibrations starting this July.
