The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra has announced they will host the return of “Pops at the Forum,” a popular, long-awaited event. The event will take place February 24, at the Broom County Forum Theatre.

The return of “Pops at the Forum” also means the return of some long-awaited whimsy. The show consists of several different types of performed media from orchestral classics to movie scores to rock classics like Led Zepplin’s “Kashmir.”
The show will begin at 3pm local time on February 24, and will be led by Maestro Daniel Hege. The orchestra will offer this exhilarating concert with orchestral classics like “Flight of the Bumblebee,” “Ride of the Valkyries,” and various film scores featuring cellist Hakan Tayga.

PRIMUS and COHEED AND CAMBRIA have announced that they will be teaming up this summer for an extensive 25-date summer tour, coming to Outer Harbor in Buffalo on Aug. 9, Michelob Ultra Summer Stage at Tag’s in Big Flats on Aug. 10, and Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs on Aug. 12.

Comprised of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde, and drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander, PRIMUS has been rocking out since 1984.
Most recently, Claypool toured the country with the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade for the first time in 20 years performing Pink Floyd’s Animals in its entirety.

The Southern Tier Singers’ Collective (STSC) will presents “Arches In Sound” at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 PM,
The Southern Tier Singers’ Collective is an organization of highly skilled singers presenting artistically polished performances of distinctive choral repertoire. Founded in the fall of 2018 by William Culverhouse, STSC is based in Binghamton and draws singers from as far as Ithaca, Oneonta, Elmira, and northeast Pennsylvania.
STSC was formed in order to offer a wide variety of vocal ensemble music in multiple configurations, ranging from an intimate one-singer-per-part madrigal ensemble, to a chamber choir of 32 accomplished singers. The groupings employ a variety of rehearsal models, but aim to accommodate the busy lives of the region’s most highly skilled singers by avoiding recurring weekly rehearsal commitments, opting instead for a project-based cluster-rehearsal approach.
The performance on Saturday, February 24 will be Ralph Vaughan Williams’s soaring Mass in G Minor for double choir, which will form the centerpiece of the concert, which also features the late Romantic English choral works of CV Stanford and Renaissance polyphony of Raphaella Aleotti in the marvelous acoustics of Saint Patrick’s Church.

Legendary guitarist Santana and GRAMMY-nominated band Counting Crows have announced they will be touring together this summer. The Oneness Tour will stop by Bethel Woods on July 18, Jones Beach on July 21, and Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on July 24.
Santana and Counting Crows will deliver tons of high-energy, passionate, and classic hits from their catalogs. Carlos Santana will provide his legendary guitar playing, while the Counting Crows get everyone jiving and singing along.
These artists are visionaries, and a tour combining the minds of these talents will surely prove to be a spectacle. The musicianship of these artists allows for a plethora of hits to be unleashed this summer.

Dierks Bentley has announced his return to the road this summer with the “Gravel & Gold Tour.” The tour will see three dates in New York. Darien Lake Amphitheater, SPAC in Saratoga, and Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater in Syracuse will all host Bentley.
Dierks Bentely is one of country music’s biggest names today. Since his first publishing deal in 2001, Bentley has consistently landed himself at the top of the country music charts. Bentley has been a mainstay of country culture, with trendy, popular sound and a lovable attitude.
Along with this, Dierks Bentley has been a part of several other professional endeavors. He has been involved with Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection Desert Son, along with his four “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row” locations.

Samantha Fish has announced her anticipated “Death Wish Blues” tour which will be stopping at the Hart Theatre at The Egg in Albany on March 10, at the The Beacon Theatre in New York on March 15, at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse on March 23 and at the Asbury Hall at Babeville in Buffalo on March 24.
Kansas City based songwriter tour will be a collaboration with Texas-base rock singer Jesse Dayton after the success of their joint album Death Wish Blues which was released in May 2023 . The album produced by Jon Spencer went #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart for three consecutive weeks and since December 2022, the duo have toured across the U.S., U.K., Europe and Australia, and soon they will bring rock performances to Albany and New York.
After its release in 2023, the powerful and spirited album praise is neverending, Rolling Stone stated, “Jesse Dayton and Samantha Fish make the blues cool and current,” while Saving Country Music called it “wild, rambunctious and loud”. Before Death Wish Blues, Samantha released her critically acclaimed Faster in 2021. The album uncovered new possibilities in Samantha’s captivating sound, revealing her affinity for North Mississippi blues heroes like R.L. Burnside and wildly inventive iconoclasts like Prince. Faster followed her 2019 Rounder Records debut, Kill orBe Kind, produced by the Massachusetts-based Scott Billington.
Growing up in Missouri, Fish first found her love of songwriting in her late teens, mining inspiration from Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen. The singer first took up guitar at the age of 15 and began seeking gigs by cold-calling countless local bars. “I used to open the phone book and call up every place in Kansas City, even if they didn’t have live shows,” she remembers. “I had maybe a three percent success rate, but eventually, I started filling up my calendar—if you put on a good enough show, word of mouth gets around.” She added.
Over the years, Fish has maintained her reputation as a phenomenal live act and repeatedly turned out critically acclaimed albums, earning an ever-growing number of accolades. This coming spring the singer will be performing in Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo and fans can find tickets here.

The Westcott Theater in Syracuse became a pulsating hub of musical energy as Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, a genre-blurring jam band with country influences, graced the stage in a nearly sold-out performance that left attendees exhilarated and yearning for more.
Recently anointed “Nashville’s new guitar hero,” by Rolling Stone, Donato led the audience through a jammy night of fun showing off sonic influences from the Grateful Dead and Phish to Waylon Jennings.
The atmosphere within the Westcott Theater was charged with anticipation even before the first note resonated through the venue. As the lights dimmed, one of the most packed houses the Westcott has seen erupted into cheers, a testament to the fervent following that Daniel Donato and his Cosmic Country collective have cultivated. The energy was palpable as the band took the stage, setting the scene for an unforgettable night of country-infused improvisation and musical exploration.
The band’s lineup features Daniel Donato on lead guitar and vocals, alongside a talented ensemble of musicians including Nathan “Sugar Leg” Aronowitz on keyboards, rhythm guitar and vocals, Will “Mustang” McGee on bass, and Noah Winner on drums. And they immediately captivated the crowd. It was hard to move around inside the theater the venue was so packed, and when the music started all those people went wild.
The band’s chemistry was palpable, with each member contributing to the sonic tapestry in their own unique way. The rhythm section provided a solid foundation, propelling the music forward with a cosmic heartbeat, the bass was hard-charging and in your face while the keyboardist added layers of textures, creating an immersive sonic experience.
As the night reached its climax, the audience was left in a state of euphoria. Cosmic Country had taken them on a journey, blurring the lines between the earthly and the celestial. The Westcott Theater became a haven where traditional notions of genre were shattered, and the universal nature of music prevailed.
The night was a masterclass in musical exploration. Through his exceptional guitar skills, emotive vocals, and a band that seamlessly blended genres, Donato delivered a performance that was both otherworldly and grounded in the roots of country music. Cosmic Country is no doubt on the way up to the top and fans should make sure to catch them at more intimate venues like these while they still have the chance.

Blues musician Marcus King has announced the release of his new album titled, Mood Swings releasing April 5. Along with the album, Marcus King plans to tour throughout North America and Europe starting March 7. The tour will kick off at Love Rocks NYC and feature 6 dates in New York State.
New album Mood Swings will feature 11 tracks and will be showcased during the upcoming tour. The album was produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin who says the singing and guitar playing on the album are “from another planet.”
Marcus King is known for his electro drum stomp, his richly soul vocals, and his bluesy, jazzy guitar playing. His new album, however, takes his audience down a new path of sound. King combines elements as diverse as modern pop, R&B, aughts hip hop, piano driven classic rock and the warm production and symphonic instrumentation of classic era soul, R&B and jazz.

The sixth annual Ithaca Reggae Fest returns to Stewart Park from June 21-22. With a wide range of activities and music, the festival is dedicated to the protection of Cayuga Lake through a conscious celebration of Ithaca’s legendary reggae community and its history.
Kicking off the weekend this year is the Puerto Rican king of smooth dub beats Pachyman, with his live band. There will also be an opening set from Ithaca Reggae Fest original team member DJ ha-MEEN spinning some lively tunes to get things started at the free Friday Welcome Party. Spin magazine cites Pachyman as “a breezy, fun-loving, and freedom-seeking artist… His works are a well sonically seasoned mix, in which his Puerto Rican roots shine bright.”
The big day Saturday, June 22 begins with setting the intention with an interactive yoga workshop led by the Yoga Farm before celebrating Cayuga Lake with a cultural celebration led by the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ. The music gets going on Saturday with Ithaca’s own Ghanian-led roots reggae favorites, Mosaic Foundation, followed by the lively and big sound of Syracuse’s own, Root Shock. As the sun goes down, Jamaica’s living legend and first female dancehall DJ & writer/singer of the top sampled reggae song of all time Sister Nancy performs.
Also, festival co-founder Kevin Kinsella reunites with the internationally renowned and legendary Ithaca-based pioneering reggae band he started – John Brown’s Body – for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the shores of Cayuga Lake.
