Eclectic indie artist, Karina Rykman announced new dates on her 2024 tour, including Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Sept 14.

    Karina Rykman Bearsville

Rykman is an artist from NYC who recently released her debut album Joyride in August of 2023. She graduated from NYU and during her senior year, she joined pianist Marco Benevento’s band. Rykman’s talent on the bass even landed her a gig on America’s Got Talent. Her solo career started when she formed her own band with Adam November on guitar, loopers and effects and Chris Corsico on drums.

The band has played alongside acts like Khruangbin, Guster, and The Disco Biscuits and have performed at a number of coveted festivals like Bonnaroo, Peach Music Festival, and Sweetwater 420 Fest.

Joyride mixes the styles of 2010’s rock and Rykman’s unique sound to create a distinct debut album. The songs are co-produced by former Phish member, Trey Anastasio who also plays guitar on five of the tracks.

Bearsville is an intimate theater with a rich history of musical legends such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and Johnny Cash. It was built to be “acoustically perfect” and today, artists come from around the globe to play at the iconic venue.

  • Don’t Miss Dopapod Summer Tour Stop at The Waterhole in Saranac Lake this Month

On June 21, fans can join Dopapod and Raisinhead at the Waterhole Music Lounge in Saranac Lake, NY, as they kick off their Summer 2024 tour.

    dopapod at saranac lake

Formed in 2008 at the Berklee College of Music, Dopapod contains four members: Eli Winderman (keys, vocals), Rob Compa (guitar, vocals), Chuck Jones (bass), and Neal “Fro” Evans (drums). Originally, the band was only made up of two members: Winderman and fellow Berklee student Michaelangelo Carubba, who played drums. The duo performed in several venues around Boston for a year, before adding Rob Compa on guitar. For the next two years, Dopapod performed as a trio. In 2010, Neal Evans became the official drummer after Carubba’s departure.

Since then, Dopapod has provided an otherworldly live experience to each of their shows. The group draws inspiration from multiple genres, including funk, rock, bluegrass, jazz, and electronica. This combination of these genres has provided Dopapod with the ability to fully engross their audience in their storytelling. Their last self-titled album, released in 2022, is no exception. Stories about traversing time travel, palindromic labyrinths, and a greater cohesive mystery bind the band’s discography into one psychedelic and entertaining experience.

In regards to the buzz for their latest tour, Winderman is on the record saying, “We’re a live band. The songs are the vehicle for us to just express ourselves with the improv. That’s the main focus: to be in the present moment with each other, listening to each other, and creating on the spot. We love being on the tightrope and taking risks.”

    dopapod at saranac lake

Joining Dopapod on their tour is special guest Raisinhead. Since 2001, Raisinhead has committed to sticking to the roots of music through improvisation. The band consists of lead singer and guitarist Rob Beaulieu, Ted Grey (Guitar, Vocals), Brian Mangini (Keyboards), Tom Pirozzi (Bass, Vocals), and Jeff Prescott, Chadd Ploss, Scott Apicelli (drums). As a three-singer band, Raisinhead provides fans with an interactive evening of sound, energy, and pure fun.

  • Nicki Minaj Pink Friday 2 Tour Adds Queens, Buffalo Dates

Dubbed the Queen of Hip Hop, Nicki Minaj has announced her highly anticipated tour, showcasing her brand new album Pink Friday 2. She will stop at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, March 30, and Barclays Center on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Additionally, Minaj has announced shows in Buffalo on September 14 and in Queens on October 11.

For the finale of the tour, Nicki will make her return to Queens for one final show in her hometown after a total of over 80 shows across the globe.

Nicki Minaj became “the first woman to score 100 Billboard Hot 100 Hits” with an astounding 133 total entries to date (the most among female hip-hop acts). These include three #1’s, over 70 Top 40 hits (also a record among female hip-hop acts), and 23 Top 10’s (another record among female hip-hop acts). As a songwriter, she also holds the record for the “Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries Among Women in the 2010s.”

Minaj has set the tone in music, fashion, and beauty for more than a decade. Her seminal song “Super Bass” surpassed one billion YouTube views, entering history alongside the likes of “Anaconda.” As such, she has emerged as “the first female rapper to cross the one billion mark with multiple solo tracks.” With nine videos receiving more than one billion views thus far, she has earned “the most videos with over one billion views for any female artist.”

Her supremacity can be traced back to her landmark debut Pink Friday in 2010, which sold 375,000 copies in its first week according to MRC Data. It made history by achieving “the largest sales week for a female hip-hop artist since Lauryn Hill in 1998.” In 2022 she released “Super Freaky Girl,” which impressively debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other accolades she acquired were “the female rapper with the most solo Top 10 albums in Billboard 200 history,” “the most-awarded rapper at the American Music Awards,” and “the first female rapper with over 30 billion Spotify streams across her catalog.”

In addition to music, Nicki Minaj has made numerous TV and film appearances, including as a judge on American Idol along with film roles in 2014’s The Other Woman, 2016’s Barbershop: The Next Cut, and voiceover for Ice Age: Continental Drift. She has landed high-profile deals with Fendi, Adidas, H&M, Diesel, Mercedes-Benz, Sprint, and Pepsi, released a nail polish collection with OPI, and was the face of MAC’s Viva Glam campaign. Not to mention, she is a co-owner of TIDAL, and her BEATS 1 QUEEN radio show stands out as “the highest-rated show in Apple Music history.”

  • The Red Clay Strays Add Brooklyn Show to Nationwide Tour

Following the release of their new single, music video, and a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Red Clay Strays have announced additional dates to their 2024 nationwide headline tour, including a show at the Brooklyn Paramount on October 1. The tour commemorates the release of their highly anticipated second album, Made by These Moments, which will be available on July 26, 2024.

Formed in 2016 in Mobile, Alabama, The Red Clay Strays are Brandon Coleman (lead vocals, guitar), Drew Nix (electric guitar, vocals, harmonica), Zach Rishel(electric guitar), Andrew Bishop (bass), and John Hall (drums). Their latest single, “Wondering Why,” has pushed the band into the spotlight, spending six consecutive weeks at #1 on the Americana Singles chart.

The single has received widespread critical acclaim and has even brought the band to be nominated for Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Music Awards. Regarding the song, Billboard praises the band saying, “Lead singer Coleman’s gruff, impassioned vocal shines here as always, bolstered by the group’s exemplary musicianship.”

Since their inception, The Red Clay Strays have reached innumerable success not only on the charts but with their tours as well. This year, the band made their Grand Ole Opry debut and toured across the U.S. Past shows include performing alongside country and Americana music’s biggest names, such as Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Elle King, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Their current tour features special guests such as The Rolling Stones, Carrie Underwood, and Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge.

Tickets will be available on May 31, 2024, at 10 am EST. For more information and tickets, fans can visit here.
