  • CashorTrade Partners with The String Cheese Incident and JRAD For Pre-Sales & Ticket Drops

The leading fan-to-fan social ticketing platform, CashorTrade, has revealed their new collaborations with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and the String Cheese Incident. These band partners are an effort to keep tickets in the hands of fans for two forthcoming concert runs, and also to enhance the company’s fight against ticket scalping.

Dusty and Brando Rich, founders of CashorTrade.org

As String Cheese Incident are getting ready to perform their most anticipated three-night performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in July, CashorTrade held a pre-sale on Thursday, February 1 through CashorTrade.org.

Additionally, the platform has also announced their collaboration with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead to make tickets available for the band’s forthcoming performance at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 8.

CashorTrade proudly defines itself as the world’s only social network where fans can buy, sell and trade tickets at face value. The Vermont-based company was launched in 2009 through the efforts of Brando Rich and his older brother Dusty, who are passionate music fans. Their website includes the pre-sale feature as part of their continuous effort to help artists and guarantee fair ticketing procedures. By bypassing the middlemen and online ticket resale marketplaces, artists can establish direct connections with their fan base through their website.

“CashorTrade is thrilled to partner with The String Cheese Incident and JRAD to empower fans and combat scalping in the live music industry. Our mission has always been to prioritize the fan experience and provide a platform where tickets are traded ethically and securely.”

    Brando Rich, CashorTrade co-founder

With more than a million followers on its social media, website, and app, CashorTrade has made a name for itself as a reliable spot for fans to exchange, buy, and sell face-value tickets. With its headquarters located in Vermont, the company employs thirty passionate music lovers and is getting ready to release its next-generation software, which will improve the ticketing experience for both artists and fans.

  • NYC Festival Celebrating Black Electronic Talent, dweller, Announces Lineup

dweller, the NYC music festival designed to amplify and celebrate Black talent in the field of electronic music, is returning for an unforgettable 2024 season, running February 20 to February 25 at clubs and underground spaces across Brooklyn.

The dweller Festival was founded by the Discwoman collective co-founder Frankie Decaiza Hutchinson, who curates the festival alongside Enyo Amexo and Ryan Clarke. dweller’s mission of properly contextualizing Black creators’ influence over the past, present, and future of dance music remains as vital and singular as it did when Hutchinson launched the festival in 2019.

“We strive to be a black lighthouse; a siren in the storm for those who know the isolating whitewaters of electronic all too well. At this time, the authorities controlling this current seek to drown the voices and new structures that can reverse the flow of power back into our hands. We must be vigilant towards persisting as to not just speak for ourselves but redistribute resource, equity, and justice in a space that has long made its worth on the backs of the silenced,” their site wrote.

This fifth-anniversary edition of the festival features over 75 artists holding court in seven of New York’s most exciting dance spaces with featured artwork created by Hassan Rahim’s studio 12:01. dweller’s season begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20 with a free-with-RSVP ritual gathering at MoMA PS1 in Queens, headlined by the prolific and critically-acclaimed musician Actress.

As part of this year’s festival, the film streaming service The Criterion Channel has linked up with dweller beginning on February 1 to spotlight a collection of films that celebrate the Black roots of electronic music. Among the 13 films curated by the festival for streaming through February is the 1996 documentary, The Last Angel Of History, which explores the origins and significance of the concept of Afrofuturism in music, writing and other disciplines.

Another film, 2003’s Maestro, explores the origins of house music via Black figures such as Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles. A selection of short films also on the playlist include Songs For Earth & Folk (2013), I Held The Truth In My Hands (2020), Pivot (2020), Lunar New Year (2021), MOSQUITO: The Movie (2022), Hyperfate (2023), Pacific Club (2023) and Trial Period (2023). A 7-day free introductory trial to the Criterion Channel is available by clicking here.

  • Phish Announce 4-day Festival this August – Mondegreen

Phish has announced the details on their first four-day festival – Mondegreen – and their first in more than nine years. The festival will take place at The Woodlands in Dover, DE over August 15-18, 2024.

    mondegreen phish

What is a Mondegreen? Webster defined the word as “a misunderstood or misinterpreted word or phrase resulting from a mishearing of the lyrics of a song.” One example from Phish would be “Read Icculus” being heard as Ridiculous. If there was ever a more fitting name for a Phish festival, it hasn’t been named yet.

Phish will perform multiple sets over the four days of the festival, with a great number of interactive fan experiences yet to be announced, as well as curated regional food and drink, art installations and much more in store.

Mondegreen marks the first live performance in Delaware stage for Phish in over two decades, and the latest festival from a band who can be credited with influencing a resurgence of music festivals in the 1990s. Phish’s most recent festival, 2015’s Magnaball, was held at New York’s legendary Watkins Glen International and was widely considered among their best festivals yet.

Centrally located with easy access from all points in the northeast and mid-Atlantic, the festival site will feature an abundance of on-site camping, with many nearby hotel options also available.

Delaware’s picturesque Woodlands is conveniently located within driving distance from major metropolitan areas on the East Coast, including Philadelphia (under two hours), Baltimore (under two hours), Washington, DC (under two hours), and New York City (under three hours). Fans can also take advantage of Amtrak service to Wilmington, DE as well as SEPTA regional rail.
