Eight-time Grammy winner Anderson .Paak is heading on tour. The Super Bowl halftime performer announced The Malibu Tour, featuring Maurice Brown and Gawd, where he will perform his critically-acclaimed sophomore effort, Malibu, in its entirety. The 3-week trek will see .Paak make 14 stops with a performance at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY for the penultimate performance.

Anderson .Paak is renowned for his work as a singer, rapper, and producer. His passion for music began as a child in his church band in Oxnard, California. In 2014 .Paak released his debut album, Venice, followed by Malibu in 2016.
.Paak is known for his collaboration with other accomplisted artists. Silk Sonic, .Paak’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, earned the duo four Grammy’s and a sold out Vegas residency. Hits like “Leave the Door Open” and “Smokin’ out the Window” have cemented .Paak’s place in the public consciousness. .Paak appeared as a surprise guest at Logic and Friends’ show in 2022.

The town of Long Lake has announced the 2024 lineup for its Summer Music by the Lake concerts. Concerts will take place at the Long Lake Town Beach 6-8pm each Friday until August 23rd. This year’s concerts will highlight yacht rock, alternative, and tributes to classic acts.
Long Lake is situated in the heart of the Adirondacks, two hours north of Albany. With pristine forests and waters, visitors have hailed the town as one of the most scenic in all of New York. At the center of Long Lake’s recreation is the town beach. In addition to swimming and boating, visitors can enjoy a host of music performances at the beach throughout the Summer Season.
Before the start of the Music by the Lake series, Long Lake Town Beach will host a special July 4th concert. The concert features NYC-based yacht rock outfit The Yacht Lobsters. Founded in 2022, the septet mixes the sounds of classic acts like Hall and Oates, with a jazz horn section, and funky rhythms to make endearingly retro songs. This concert comes as part of a day-long celebration, including barbeques, bake sales, and fireworks. The Yacht Lobsters will begin at 6:30pm on the beach stage.
The Friday Music by the Lake concerts will begin July 5th with a special open mic night. At the concert, local artists can sign up to perform sets. The open mic night will showcase a range of local artists and sounds sure to captivate beach-goers.
On July 12th, New Paltz’s Gratefully Yours will perform a set at the town beach. Keyboardist Alex Mazour founded the band in 2012 to recreate the Grateful Dead’s timeless classics. The group plays off the energy of their crowds, capturing the improvisational talent of the original band. Gratefully Yours puts their audiences at the center of performances, allowing them to submit dream setlists to play. With members from the Dark Star Orchestra and Trey Anastasio Band, Gratefully Yours is one of the premier Grateful Dead tributes around today.
July 19th will feature a set by the Jess Novak Band. Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jess Novak formed the group with a host of Syracuse’s premier musicians to perform blues and soul-influenced rock. Novak performs over 150 shows each year, which have taken her everywhere from Burlington to Key West. On top of releasing 12 albums, Novak also started the F.I.R.E festival to highlight female musicians.
The Green River Tribute Band will perform on July 26th. NYC-native Rick Horvath has led Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute bands since he was 13 years old. CCR was a staple of 1960s and 70s rock, selling over 30 million records in their heyday. Green River pays tribute to this classic group with 90-minute sets, encompassing faithful covers of classic CCR tunes. Audiences can expect to hear CCR favorites like “Proud Mary” and “Bad Moon Rising.”
Night School will kick off August, with an evening concert on the 2nd. The five-piece dance rock group hails from Tupper Lake in the heart of the Adirondacks. The band defies genre, playing danceable hits of all types from the past. Playing everything from the Beatles and Talking Heads, to Rick James, Night School is bound to keep audiences grooving throughout their whole set.
August 9th will feature a performance by the Altered Tones. The four-piece band consists of local artists from Long Lake and Tupper Lake united by a love of 90s music. Together, the Altered Tones pump out acoustic covers of classic rock and alternative for audiences to enjoy. Concert-goers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and coolers to boost their enjoyment.
Booyah will perform an August 16th concert of their unique brand of funk. For over eight years, Booyah’s seven members have played unique funk-imbued takes on classic tracks. With funk versions of David Bowie, Talking Heads, and Rage Against the Machine songs, Booyah will keep their audiences dancing all night.
Big Martha will close out the Music by the Lake concert series with an August 23rd show. Hailing from Buffalo, Big Martha offers one of the most faithful Allman Brothers experiences. Together, the six-piece band crafts an energetic set from one of the greatest Southern rock catalogs in music history.

Dispatch performed on a cloudy summer evening at Artpark on Friday, June 28. Thousands gathered at the outdoor venue, located on the edge of the Niagara Gorge to see Dispatch, a band that performs a mixture of indie, reggae, rock and folk. Stolen Gin opened the show.
Stolen Gin has been around for 5 years and they are known for indie, pop, funk and rock, said the drummer, Josh. This is their first show touring with Dispatch in 2024. Stolen Gin gave the crowd a unique taste of their music throughout the show and set the stage for the Dispatch.
As the sun went down, Dispatch took the stage as the gentle breeze carried into the crowd. They seamlessly transitioned between genres, and the band members swapped instruments throughout their set. The memorable moment was when Brad Corrigan wrote a song about the moon on the stage after he saw the street light and thought that it was a full moon. The lyrics went “I see three moons, maybe four. There are more coming for more, we eat berries in the woods”. He said I will keep working on that song until we all sing together. Fans were singing along and dancing along as they played their iconic songs “The General”, “Bang Bang”, “Only The Wild Ones” and “Bond By Love”. Dispatch ended the show with a Birthday song for the band member Matt Embree who play guitar and bass.
Dispatch will continue their US tour throughout 2024. They will come back to the gorgeous vanue Artpark to singalong with their audience in near future.
Lake George’s summer concert series “Fridays at the Lake” returns this year with an exciting lineup. From July 5 to August 30, Shepard Park Amphitheater will host a concert every Friday. Concerts are free, and will feature a beer and wine garden.

On July 5, The Ultimates will open for the New York Players, who will be returning to Fridays at the Lake this year. The New York Players are known for being dance party experts, with over 1,000 events under their belt. On July 12, Yellow Dog will open for Soul Session.
Dirt Cheap will open for E.B Jeb with classic blues and rock on July 19. E.B Jeb has been bringing authentic Southern Rock to upstate New York since 1980.
July 26, Saratoga-based pop group The Schmooze will open for Vivid. The Hartford based band is known for playing upbeat and danceable pop rock covers.
Albany band Sirsy will bring pop rock with folk intimacy to Fridays at the Lake on August 9. They will open for the TS Ensemble, a high energy, eight piece band from

The US Navy band will open for The Accents on August 23; The Accents will be returning for another performance this year; Lake George regulars, the Accents have performed at Fridays at the Lake and thousands of other events.
On August 30, Troy rock trio Super 400 will open for Ten Most Wanted. The Ten Most Wanted is a ten piece band known for their powerful vocals and sizzling horn section.
All events are family & dog friendly, and bouncy houses will be available. Openers will take the stage at 6:00, and headliners will start performing at 7:30. Buffalo’s arts and culture organization will host the 8th Annual Beau Fleuve Music & Arts Celebration on Sunday, August 25. The event, presented by Bully Hill Vineyards, will take place at Buffalo Central Terminal.
Gates open at 1:30 PM and the event kicks off at 2 PM with diverse performances, exhibitions, and events catered to all ages. Attendees can indulge in offerings like art installations, photography exhibits, food trucks, vendors, kid’s attractions, and additional unique experiences.
Featured Performances
Soft-rock band, Infinity Song is set to take the Beau Fleuve stage. The band, made up of siblings Abraham, Angel, Israel, and Momo Boyd, will bring their energetic presence and skillful harmonies to Buffalo. The New York City band, who’s currently on their World Tour represents the importance of honoring local music and the creatives behind the art. Infinity Song brings a wonderful, entertaining show that’s not to be missed.
Also bringing their soulful sounds to Buffalo, are Country singer-songwriter Elsie and Grammy-winning R&B singer Kameron Corvet. Additionally, melodic Latin singer La Cassandra and Canadian Jazz and R&B musician Seyblu will bring their respective cultural performances to the celebration.
Other performances include acts from Tiny the Dream, Stephen Babcock, The Miserable Genius, Neftali, and 14 Mafia.

Meanwhile, the Music & Arts Celebration attendees will also have special performances available to watch. DOSYO: WEH featuring DJ Ran$um, 438 Music Group, and Haundensee Dancers will put on an incredibly noteworthy show, representing indigenous land and Seneca Nations.
The Music & Arts Celebration will add an especially unique flare with their curated experiences. These events include Happy Hour from 2-3 PM comprised of the new Family Fun Zone with exciting activities for kids, as well as Live DJ and Podcast Sets, and drink specials.

Esteemed singer, songwriter and multi-talented artist Jon Batiste, will perform at the Tanglewood concert series on June 28.
After earning both a B.A and a M.F.A from Juilliard school, Batiste got his start on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as a bandleader and musical director. His extensive discography ranges from his 2004 jazz album, Times in New Orleans, to his 2023 concept album, World Music Now. Jazz legends such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis are a heavy influence on Batiste’s music, as well as the soul and funk of Stevie Wonder and James Brown.
Notably, Batiste produced the music for Disney Pixar’s film Soul which won an academy award for Best Original Score and a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. The We Are album won five Grammys including Album of The Year in 2021. In 2022, Times Magazine named him top 100 most influential people.
The 2023 Netflix film, American Symphony, explores Batiste’s career. It follows his personal life, his involvement in activism and organizing and of course, his musical successes.
He’ll perform his wide discography in Koussevitzky Music Shed, a venue that will host other iconic artists all summer. Tanglewood is a concert series located in the Berkshire hills of Western Massachusetts. Throughout the summer will also feature many performances from its summer resident, the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Jive has cooked up a 12 song showcase worthy of a glance from a wider audience, titled, Hurry Up Please It’s Time”
Opening with “Monsters Write Pretty Songs,” Buggy immediately announces “Good luck,” with a thickly stacked vocal on top of the meandering rhythm guitar that jolts and grabs attention. The crispy blend of gospel and Doobie-esque backing vocals weave a soft takeoff before eventually punching the opening notes of “Scheherazade of Schenectady.” The first single off the record is appropriately verbose, as it touches on principles of fiction writing and brings up the heat after the smooth opener.
Relaxedly defiant, “Don’t Quit Your Day Job,” hints of the prog influence to come later in both “The Music is Beside the Point,” and “The Calendar is a Liar.” Distorted and stanky, the song that garnered the NPR shoutout from Bob Boilen and Bobby Carter somehow still gives front porch rocking chair vibes while hiding a middle finger attitude behind a content and fulfilled smile.
In “Another Song I Ain’t Allowed to Sing,” Buggy Jive offers reminders of his emotional range and musical intent while slowing down the pace, but featuring right-up-front lead vocals and an ocean of harmonies that keep the energy flowing. This range and intent returns in spades on “Autumn Is Burning.” The mid-album walking groove breaks out major key on a bridge change that feels like a full breath after the intentionally dark verse progression. While “Old Man Screams at Sky,” hits more like a barnhouse dance party than gospel groove, those dynamic controls and natural chord voicings remain steady and present.
“Ignore Them Fools,” and “Alpha the Beta,” both ooze confidence, with the former feeling like a class in session and the latter like a player on the field in action. “Alien Robot Love Song About Love,” and “Hurry Up Please It’s Time,” the final two tracks of the album, lay heavy wet grooves that drag the listener deep into the songwriters’ pocket lyrically and musically.
The entire work displays an adventurous attitude as a musician and a deep sensibility surrounding vocals that act as an homage to his influences, both perceived and expressed. Buggy Jive took a big swing on this record, and his dedication and emotion are both easily seen and felt throughout.
The Concerts By The Shore summer concert season has entered its fourth week. This Summer concert series takes place at Rochester’s Ontario Beach each Wednesday.
The upcoming weeks offer concert-goers chances to enjoy reggae, rock, classical and more, continuing each week until Wednesday, August 28.
2024 marks the 38th season of Concerts By The Shore, making the summer concerts a long-time tradition for Rochester. With concerts right on the shore of Lake Ontario, the Concerts By The Shore program is a favorite Summer activity among many Rochester residents.
The 2024 season kicked off on June 5th with a show by party band Nik and the Nice Guys. It featured upbeat dance songs and colorful costuming. This was followed by a show by Finger Lakes R&B favorites The Cool Club and Lipker Sisters. Wednesday, June 18th featured a concert by Rochester-based country group Branded.
Concerts By The Shore will return June 26th with a concert by the Skycoasters. The Skycoasters have been mainstays of Finger Lakes and WNY parties for over four decades. The 9-piece band, which features horns, vocals, and more have brought energy and fun to parties across the country. Their June 26th concert will begin at 7:00pm.
The Invictas will kick off July with their brand of 1960s rock. The famed garage rock band were mainstays of Rochester’s club scene in the 1960s. Since their start, the band has played on programs like NBC’s Today Show, and toured with the legendary Beach Boys. Their classic dance songs, like “The Hump,” are sure to get audiences grooving. The Invictas will play on Wednesday, July 3rd at 7:00pm.
Atlas will follow this show with a July 10th concert. Atlas began in Syracuse in 1981, featuring some of Upstate New York’s finest musicians. A funky horn section backs up lead singers Lisa Denise and Tyler Owens to forge high energy dance music. With their infectious strain of funk and dance, Atlas has become a mainstay of festivals, night clubs, and events around Syracuse. Their concert will begin Wednesday, July 10th at 7:00pm.
July 17th will feature a special concert by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. The Orchestra began over 100 years ago, with its dedication to community involvement dating back to its inception. As a result, the orchestra performs hundreds of free concerts each year, including the Concerts By The Beach. The Orchestra’s award-winning conductors will lead the acclaimed ensemble in a number of classical and pop pieces. This special concert will begin at 7:30pm on Wednesday, July 17th.
Bachata Rebelde will perform their brand of latin dance on Wednesday, July 24th. The Rochester-based band combines Latin, African, and Caribbean influences to create groovy dance music. They have previously played at Rochester’s Afro Latin Dance Festival and Puerto Rican Festival. They will perform at Concerts By The Shore on Wednesday, July 24th at 7:00pm.
iGNiTE! will close out July with an evening concert on July 31st. Frontman Ronald âSkillâ Gordon founded iGNiTE! over 30 years ago to deliver authentic reggae to Rochester. The band uses groovy rhythms, vocal harmonies, and guitar to bring their mix of reggae, ska, and dancehall to life. This infectious mix, combined with their crowd work has made them mainstays of galas, beaches, and festivals across Western New York. Since their start, iGNiTE! has played with reggae legends, including the Wailers. They will perform at Concerts By The Shore on Wednesday, July 31st at 7:00pm.
Junkyard Field Trip will begin August with a showcase of their eclectic rock music. Songwriters Mike Gladstone and Rob Smith founded the Rochester-based group in 2014. While starting as an acoustic rock band, the group began incorporating electric elements to create their current sound. Its members have toured with legends like ZZ Top, Lou Gramm, and the Gin Blossoms. The band has become mainstays of Rochester’s concert scene, even being nominated for the City Newspaperâs Best of Rochester award for best band. Junkyard Field Trip will perform on Wednesday, August 7th at 7:00pm.
August 14th will feature a performance from the classic Rochester soul band The Dukes. The eight-piece band dates back to 1957. The original band climbed the charts with their hit âGive Me One More Chance,” which allowed them to perform with legends like Dionne Warwick and Johnny Cash. Although the band broke up in 1974, it gradually reformed with new musicians who wanted to keep its legacy alive. The band continues to play a groovy, soulful brand of 60s and 70s R&B to audiences today. Their concert will take place Wednesday, August 14th at 7:00pm.
Party band Allegro will perform on August 21st. The eight-piece band, featuring dual male and female vocalists, and a funky rhythm and horn section have toured for over 20 years. The Rochester band incorporates influences ranging from jazz to modern pop hits, making for an infectious, danceable blend of songs that audiences are sure to enjoy. Allegro has kept thousands of concert-goers dancing the night away throughout their years performing. Their Concert By The Shore will take place Wednesday, August 21st at 7:00pm.
Ruby Shooz will close out the season with 50s and 60s rock and roll. The band has been mainstays of Upstate New York’s live music scene for over 20 years, regularly performing at the NY State Fair. Their infectious blend of classic rock and roll has seen them perform across the Northeastern US. Ruby Shooz puts the audience at the center of their performances, blending 50s and 60s trivia into their performances. Their shows will surely be nostalgic for older members of the audiences, educational for younger concert-goers, and a fun time for all. Ruby Shooz will perform Wednesday, August 28th at 7:00pm.

Buffalo based band Organ Fairchild officially released their third studio record, Songs We Didn’t Write on June 7th. The 44 minute, 9 track collection of instrumental covers follows the 2023 release of Leisure Suit.
The trio is made up of Joe Bellanti on organ and keyboards, Corey Kertzie on drums and percussion, and Dave Ruch on guitar. According to Ruch, it was his son’s idea for the band to record and release an entire album of covers. He says “being a completely instrumental band, we’ve always loved the challenge of rearranging some of our favorite music in the organ trio format, and since our live shows always include some choice covers, this felt like a super fun project and a bit of a no-brainer!”

Songs We Didn’t Write was recorded and mixed by grammy award winning Justin Guip at Milan Hill Studios, and mastered by Alan Evans of Soulive. The record notably features grammy award winning and rock & roll hall-of-famer Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna) on guitar for Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle” and The Brass Machine’s horn section on Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish”. The album features a wide variety of artists and influences, from Harry Styles to Bob Marley and Grateful Dead.
“Hard to Handle” features electric (pun intended) guitar work by both Jorma and Ruch. The guitar-led track explodes into solos, before coming to a peak with both Jorma and Ruch trading solos with each other. The rhythm section of Bellanti and Kertzie hold it down together so well here and across the entire record.
“I Wish”, which features The Brass Machine, is a high-energy, freshly arranged take on the classic Stevie Wonder tune. The trombone, trumpet and saxophone additions elevate the song to new heights, and their solos end the song with a bang.

The band goes back to their roots with songs like “Lazy River Road” and “Lost Sailor.” They were all members of “Wild Knights”, a Grateful Dead tribute based in Buffalo where they first met in 1983. The influence the Dead has in their playing and style is apparent, noticeably in Ruch’s guitar playing and his phrasing. The band does an excellent job at making these songs their own while paying their respect to the originals. Their arrangements are fresh, and they give these covers the space that allows for the song to breathe and come to life in their unique organ trio instrumentation.

Kool & The Gang and En Vogue are coming to Tanglewood on June 23, performing at Koussevitzky Music Shed at 2:30 p.m.
Kool & The Gang is an R&B, funk group known for their hits from the 70’s and 80’s. They officially formed in 1969 signing to De-Lit Records and released their first album, Kool & The Gang. “Jungle Boogie” “Get Down On It” and “Ladies Night” are just a few of their many hits from their decades of discography.
The band formed in Jersey City as a Jazz ensemble. This included Robert “Kool” Bell on Bass, Ronald Bell on Keyboards, Robert “Spike” Mickens on Trumpet, Dennis “Dee Tee” Thomas on saxophone, Ricky West on keyboards, George Brown on drums, and Charles Smith and Woody Sparrow on guitar. Now, Robert Bell, trumpet player, Michael Ray and Keyboardist, Curtis “Fitz” Williams make up the Grammy Award winning group.
Soul trio, En Vogue are joining Kool & The Gang on stage performing their hits from the 90’s. They have sold 20 million records worldwide and have won seven MTV Music Video Awards along with three Soul Train Awards. In 1988 Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones and Terry Ellis made the final cut for the girl group and they were signed to Atlantic Records. Now the group is a trio consisting of Ellis, Rhona Bennett and Cindy Herron. They’ve released seven studio albums, most recently Electric Cafe in 2018.
Last Year, En Vogue performed at the Fourth of July Tanglewood celebration. This summer music festival is located in the Berkshire hills in Western Massachusetts.
