This summer, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy hosts the Sounds at Sunset summer concert series at Pier 3 Plaza, located on Pier 3 at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Standing along the banks of the East River, Pier 3 Plaza offers a wonderful view of the Manhattan skyline. The best method to travel by subway is to take the A or C train to High Street, followed by a 15-20 minute walk from the station.
The concert series hosts a variety of artists from all over the world. Solo artists, small ensembles, and even conductors and chamber groups will play at these concert series throughout the summer. Special events, including the Americana Music Festival and Paak Appreciation Night, are scheduled for the concert series as well.

Friday, June 21 at 6:00 PM – The Steely Dan Happy Hour
Kicking off the series is The Royal Scam with a Steely Dan Happy Hour at Pier 3 Plaza. Featuring NYCâs elite touring and recording musicians, The Royal Scam brings a night of fun and nostalgia to Pier 3 as an iconic tribute band. Before the show, there will be an opening DJ set by Maurice Bernstein, founder of Giant Step.
Friday, June 28 at 7:00 PM – Igmar Thomas & Musical Guests
Maestro, Trumpeter, conductor, composer, and arranger Igmar Thomas brings special musical guests, including a chamber ensemble, to Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. In the past, Thomas has worked with hip-hop legends Lauryn Hill, Nas, and Busta Rhymes on lyrics and music composition. Join Thomas and guests for a night of big band-style jazz and jazz fusion on Friday, June 28.
Friday, July 12 at 7:00 PM – Yacouba Sissoko
World-renowned kora player Yacouba Sissoko and his band SIYA share West African songs and stories at Pier 6 Plaza. These stories have passed down from generation to generation. A night of tradition, culture, and folklore arrives in Brooklyn with Sissoko and SIYA on July 12.
July 26 at 7:00 PM – Brooklyn Americana Music
Brooklyn Americana Music curates a taste of their award-winning festival at Pier 6 Plaza. Featuring internationally touring singer-songwriters with fiddles, banjos, and guitars, the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary. Their annual festival curates a blend of internationally recognized and up-and-coming music artists in the folk, country, and Americana music scene.
Friday, August 2 at 7:00 PM – PAAK Appreciation
The final Sounds at Sunset event dedicates itself to one of music’s biggest names. For fans of the R&B icon Anderson .Paak, a night of deep cuts, unreleased tracks, and collaborations, awaits at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The event will be hosted by producer and drummer George “Spanky” McCurdy, accompanied by a band and DJ set.
Since the summer of 2008, legendary hip-hop group and Philadelphia’s hometown legend The Roots have put on the Roots Picnic, a music festival created and curated by the band that has evolved into one of the city’s most anticipated cultural experiences of the year.
The 2024 Roots Picnic opened its doors on Saturday, June 1, to the masses who filled the grounds of Fairmount Park in the City of Brotherly Love. Several brand activations had treats for guests, including French liqueur brand Grand Marnier, Charmin’, Chase Sapphire and more. Beyond the music, the festival has become a platform for social commentary and community engagement. This year, Roots Picnic Con featured panelists discussing music education, real estate and beauty careers, as well as a keynote conversation with renowned Roots drummer Questlove.
Jill Scott, Nas, Sexyy Red and more set the bar high on the first day of the 2024 Roots Picnic. Early acts such as BLK ODYSSY, Chioke, and more graced the festival stages before the crowds were treated to an afternoon of electrifying performances. Acclaimed DJ J.PERIOD brought his beloved THE LIVE MIXTAPE series to The Roots Picnic with Black Thought, Method Man, Redman, Common, Freeway, Ferg, and more.
Following that performance, The-Dream hit his trademark vocals and succulent R&B aura. The-Dream wasted no time letting people know he is a true R&B hitmaker with smooth renditions of “Fancy,” “Falsetto,” “Purple Kisses,” and more. Fans were enamored with the quick trip down memory lane and were left wanting more.
Nas then took over the main stage to perform his legendary catalog, even bringing out Ghostface Killah as a special surprise guest. He ripped through some of his classic hits such as “N.Y. State of Mind,” “The Message,” “Spicy,” “Get Down.”
The biggest part of Day 1 was the arrival of Sexyy Red with her dancers and secret service team. The St. Louis native brought her brand of rowdy and raunchy hip-hop to The Roots Picnic and turned it upside down, with fans screaming and twerking the night away.
Jill Scott closed out Day 1 with her headlining set, which featured a floral stage design. For her set, Scott performed “Hate on Me,” “Whatever,” “The Way,” “You Got Me” with Black Thought, a new track titled “Norf Philly” alongside Tierra Wack, and more.
The artists performing on Day 2 kept the momentum going from the previous day. On the bill were acts such as Robert Glasper, Shaboozey, Wale, BabyFace, Cam’Ron, André 3000, Gunna, Lil Wayne, and the hometown heroes, The Roots.
Rising country music star Shaboozey had the early afternoon crowd rocking at the Fairmount Stage with tracks off his newly released album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, blasting through the speakers.
Babyface, the legendary singer/songwriter let the crowd know why he’s been at the top of his game for over five decades. In addition to his own records, such as “Everytime I Close My Eyes” and “For the Cool in You,” Face dipped into his immense bag and performed incredible renditions of tracks he’s written over the years for artists such as Bobby Brown, After 7, Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, TLC, Toni Braxton and more.
Following up after Babyface , but Gunna picked up the mantle and deliver his swagger injected brand of hip-hop. The Atlanta native took the stage and wasted no time getting into his set with electrifying renditions of “back at it,” “whatsapp (wassam),” “P power,” and “fukumean.” Unfortunately, fans were vibing for a limited time as Wunna’s set was cut short for undisclosed reasons.
With all the amazing performances spread out across two days, The Roots had to send the massive crowd home truly entertained with their headlining set. The hometown natives used their closing set to honor New Orleans, Louisiana, and its rich music history by having the city’s most talented artists, such as Trombone Shorty, Lloyd, and PJ Morton, join them onstage.
While fans were enjoying the New Orleans sounds, it was obvious they were anticipating the arrival of the man of the hour, Lil Wayne. Tunechi glided effortlessly through his set with fans screaming at the top of their lungs to hits like “Mr. Carter,” “John,” “I’m Goin In,” and more. It was a marvelous ending to a rather eventful weekend in the city of Brotherly Love. The Roots Picnic 2024 surely did it again.
The town of Chateaugay, NY will host Adirondack Vet Fest, July 20 and 21. All proceeds go to North Country Honor Flight, an organization that brings veterans to Washington D.C.
The festival has a lineup of musical groups throughout the two days at the Chateaugay Town Hall Theatre. Along with the performances, guests can find food vendors, crafts and merchandise and a silent auction.
Vet Fest starts at 10:00 and on July 20, the festival’s special event begins at 6:30 with Artimus Pyle band. Drummer and marine veteran, Artimus Pyle was a former member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 1977, he survived the plane crash that killed songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backing vocalist Cassie Gaines. After his close encounter with death, he went on to produce solo singles and is now touring with the Artimus Pyle band, performing Lynyrd Skynyrd tributes.
The festival has an optional donation towards North Country Honor Flight. The organization gives veterans in New York and Vermont a chance to fly to Washington D.C. and visit memorials honoring themselves. World War ll and Korean war veterans can apply on the website for this opportunity. To see Artimus Pyle band guests can purchase the $25 tickets in cash at the Chateaugay Town Hall Theatre.
Boston Calling Music Festival brought thousands of music lovers of all ages to the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, MA over this past Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, 2024.
The weather was perfect for this three-day outdoor music festival where more than 50 talented Artists performed across four stages. The Boston Calling website offered helpful information in advance of the event.
The festival grounds in general were easy to navigate with the Happy Valley Red Stage and the Green stage being the main stages and closest together. There was a great selection of food vendors with many offerings, beverage stands, sponsor booths, Ferris wheel and 2 stands to buy merchandise for the festival and various artists.
Friday, May 24
Kicking off the music was Divine Sweater performing on the Happy Valley Red Stage. Performances on Friday also included The Wolff Sisters, Justin Clancy, JVK, and KEI closing out the orange stage with a high energy performance.
On the Allianz Blue stage Kieran Rhodes, Maris, Ric Wilson, Cannons, and Young the Giant played great sets.
Happy Valley Red Stage also held performances by Beach Weather, David Kushner, and Leon Bridges. The Green Stage had performances by Mandi Diaz, Luke Hemmings, Renee Rapp who performed popular songs “Pretty Girl”, “Bruises”, “Poison, Poison”, and Ed Sheeran played an incredible set using a loop pedal and his guitar, playing a variety of hits such as ” The A Team”, “Thinking out Loud” and “Bad Habits”.
Saturday, May 25
Senseless Optimism playing on the Happy Valley Red Stage, also played on that stage was Bad Rabbits, Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls, who while on stage said it was their first time back to Boston Calling in 10 years.
Trey Anastasio & Classic TAB had fans of all ages dancing and singing to songs such as “Moma’s Dance, “Everything’s Right Jam” and “Sand”. The Orange stage had performances from Highwater Haulers, Cakeswap, Paper Lady, and Ward Hayden & the outliers.
On the Allianz Blue Stage ToriTori, Motherfolk, Tanner Usrey, The Red Clay Strays and Jessie Murph who sang “Devil gotta Dance”,”Cowboys and Angels”, as well as an unreleased song titled “Bad Behavior”. The Green Stage held performances from The Castellows, D4vd, who backflipped onto the stage and played popular songs such as “Backstreet Girl”, and “Here with Me”, KHRUANGBIN, and Tyler Childers who started the set off with “Whitehouse Road”.
Sunday, May 26
The Happy Valley Red stage and the Green stage holding performances by Chappell Roan, Hozier, Megan Thee Stallion, and the final headliner of the 2024 Boston Calling Music Festival, The Killers. Other popular artists that had played earlier in the day also drew in the fans were Royel Otis, The Revivalists, and The Heavy Heavy. Playing on the blue and orange stage, The thing, Francis of Delirium, Christone of the Ingram, Blondshell, ALVVAYS, TYSK, TYSK, TYSK, Billy Dean Thomas, Zola Simone, and Freshwater.
The Americade Motorcycle Rally will be hosting a two-day block party at Blais Park on the âBring It! Bike Showâ stage in Lake George, from Friday, May 31 until Saturday, June 1. This event is free to the public and features live concerts from six different performers, three on each day, starting at 4:00 pm.
Since May 1983, Americade has served as one of the largest social events in the United States for all who engage in motorcycling. The rally features trade shows, races, both guided and unguided tours, and the most factory demos of any motorcycle exposition in the country.
Created by motorcyclist Bill Dutcher, Americade was originally affiliated with Aspencade, a motorcycle rally located in New Mexico, extending it to the East Coast and aptly naming the convention “Aspencade East.” By 1986, Aspencade East adopted the name “Americade” to signify its newly nationalized audience. That year, Americade became the largest touring motorcycle rally in the United States, with a crowd of 10,000. In 2024, Americade expects to host up to 50,000 people. Despite its massive size, Americade has provided an inclusive and family-friendly space to showcase the best of motorcycling.
In addition to the Block Party, Americade entertains its guests with rodeos, barbecues, and comedy and stunt shows featuring hundreds of local artists and performers. Americade also serves as an active fundraiser, donating to local and regional charities, raising up to $600,000 in previous years. Fundraisers for organizations like Ride For Kids, which is led by cyclists to raise money for pediatric cancer research and treatment, the Wounded Warrior Project, which raises money for veterans, and several more based in the Lake George area will be happening throughout the duration of the rally.

Mirable rolls into Americade featuring Steve Candlen on drums, Bobbie Vandetta on bass, and Tim Fiato on keys.
Queens Rising is back for its third year of the Multidisciplinary Arts Festival with the Queens Scene series starting Saturday, June 1st.
Queens Rising is a collective celebration honoring the culture and diversity of the borough. Their mission is to spread awareness of Queens’ rich history in the arts and contributions to New York City art. They work with many organizations and establishments to bring these celebrations to life. Queens Scene is one of the many programs they offer to exemplify pride for their community.
Additionally, the venues taking part in the festival have chosen artists all of whom they feel represent the creative and cultural significance of Queens. Each performer was chosen from an open call in the spring and will have the opportunity to grow their platforms.

Tanglewood, the esteemed Western Massachusetts venue, has announced its lineup of performers for the 2024 Popular Artists Series part of the season, running from June 20 to August 31. The lineup includes big names like Trey Anastasio, Beck, Dispatch, and pop and R&B acts like Boyz II Men, Brandi Carlile and Jason Mraz.
Since 1936, Tanglewood has been the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and is located in Lenox Massachusetts right in the Berkshire Hills. Although Tanglewood features the BSO, the festival is not just for classic music fans. The 350,000 yearly attendees come to this venue to hear Jazz, pop, choirs and more.
This year’s Popular Artist series has a list of timeless performers. Kool & The Gang and En Vogue are set to perform on June 23, bringing back the sounds of the 70’s and 90’s. On July 16 the Pretenders will be on the stage and Grammy award winning artists Jon Batiste and James Taylor are also bringing their talent to the festival.
The festival has performances for movie lovers as well. The Boston Pops will present a John William’s film night for the second year and conductor Keith Lockhart will lead the Jurassic Park score.
With so many concert goers on the 500 acre property, there’s two buildings where performances take place.The Koussevitzky Music Shed was inaugurated in 1938 and reconstructed in 1959, making it the iconic stage that Tanglewood is most known for. This is where the BSO and Boston Pops shows are held. Seiji Ozawa Hall, a newer structure, was built in 1994. It’s received numerous architectural awards including the National American Institute of Architects Honor Award for Interior Architecture in 2000.

August 30 is packed with American folk-pop icons. With their wide discography, these artists and group’s music span from the 70’s to now.
August 31, 7 p.m.: DISPATCH with the Boston Pops
This indie-rock band that formed in the 90’s known for the “The General” and “Only the Wild Ones,” will join the Boston Pops for the final performance of the 2024 Tanglewood season.
Bronx Summer Jam will be back for its third season this June 30. Bronx Summer Jam brings a community of all ages together with local artists and a positive space for music lovers.
Unlike most festivals, the summer jam is free and attendees can easily get tickets on eventbrite. The festival has also started to receive sponsorships from small businesses in the Bronx. With the volume of artists, the festival is split between two stages, the Kings stage and the Sirens stage.
This grassroots festival was created by nightlife and entertainment company Sounds and Sirens Productions and the media agency The Fox and The King who started collaborating in 2019. Sounds and Sirens serves the NYC and Westchester area of New York and offers live sounds for bands, event production and promotion as well as booking services. The Fox and The King is located in the Bronx and focuses on promoting local artists and supporting the DIY music scene.
Last year’s lineup included artists like Bronx native Drew Torres and the NYC based band The Phoenix Within.
The first summer jam in 2022 was created to get music fans together again after the COVID-19 Pandemic. “I’m inspired and humbled by our progress with Bronx Summer Jam over the last few years.,” DJ Mike said, Founder of Sounds & Sirens in a press release. “I’ve always believed that music brings people together in the best ways. Bronx Summer Jam expands on that year after year, fostering community, promoting artists, and providing a free platform for people to come and experience what local music is all about.” The festival will run between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. To RSVP, you can find the eventbrite page here.
Saratoga Performing Arts Center has announced their seventh annual Adirondack Trust Company Festival of Young Artists. The community festival celebrates over 700 of the Capital Region’s promising young artists, including dancers, musicians, poets, and visual artists. Pop-up performances and art displays will culminate in a large-scale production on the main stage.
Performing organizations include Empire State Youth Orchestra, Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet, Capital District Artis initiative. Additionally, an original musical composition 12th Grader Lucia Vysohlid will be performed by ESYO Symphony Orchestra, Capital District Youth Chorale, and singers from three local high schools.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is dedicated to providing New Yorkers access to the arts. Through their partnerships with nonprofits and over 120 schools, SPAC provides arts programing and outreach, prioritizing historically marginalized groups.
The festival’s theme is Rhythm, a thread that was woven throughout the 2024 season. SPAC’s annual student gallery features 95 pieces inspired by a passage from Langston Hughes’ “The First Book of Rhythms”.
Performances will be held from 2-5:30 PM on Sunday, June 2. Food-stands and immersive arts activities will be available on the grounds, along with free ice cream provided by Stewart’s Shops. The production on the main stage will begin at 4:45. The event is free to the community, but registration is required for admission. A recap of last year’s Summer SPAC events can be found below.
Buffalo Central Terminal has announced the release of their calendar of free events for the 2024 season. The community events take place from May to October at the Buffalo Central Terminal Lawn.
The festival includes a large variety of fun activities and events for all members of the community to enjoy. Events range from live music, plays, and movie nights to fitness bootcamps and car shows. Along with this, there are school giveaways for kids returning to the books along with an all-encompassing fall fest. From summer to fall, the Buffalo Central Terminal Festival keeps the community engaged and entertained.
The historic Buffalo Central Terminal is a prominent feature of Buffalo’s East Side and the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood. The not-for-profit Central Terminal Restoration Corp. has been the caretaker for more than 20 years.
The community driven Master Plan re-establishes the Terminal as a hub of activity. Buffalo Central Terminal is a beacon that attracts people and investment, celebrates, and fosters community voice and connections that contributes to the strong future of the city and region.
This year, the historic landmark boasts 15 free of charge events over the course of five months. The festival sees one event May 18, three in June, five in July, three in August, and two sendoff events in October.

Health is Wealth Fitness Bootcamp A 3-part fitness and cardio bootcamp lead by GCOPE Fitness. The series is held on the Central Terminal Lawn from 9am to 10am on May 18, June 22, and June 29.
Central Terminal Car Show Admire over 100 meticulously restored sport compact and muscle cars Sunday, June 30 from 10am to 5pm at the Central Terminal Car Show.
Movie Night This year we’re hosting two movie nights at the Terminal. Join us July 29 for a taste of nostalgia with “The Goonies.” August 28 shows an animated film that’s perfect for the little ones. More to be announced soon.
Summer Concert Series After the tremendous enthusiasm from our audience last year, we’re excited to announce that our Summer Concert Series has been expanded to four sensational nights! Join us July 11, July 18, July 29, and August 8 from 5pm to 8pm.
Shakespeare in the Park returns to the Central Terminal Friday, July 19 with a “Midsummer Night’s Tour.” from 7pm to 8:30pm.
