  • Krockathon Reboot Festival Review: A Day of Music, Energy, and Nostalgia

    The Krockathon Reboot on Saturday, July 27, brought a thrilling resurgence of rock music back to the NYS Fairgrounds. With a memorable lineup featuring Puddle of Mudd, Hoobastank, Nonpoint, Stabbing Westward, Boy Hits Car, and Brand New Sin, fans were in for an unforgettable day.

    From the moment the gates opened, the festival grounds were alive with activity. Attendees indulged in classic festival pastimes like playing hacky sack and flocked to the Monster Energy booth to grab free drinks, fueling the vibrant atmosphere.

    As the day wore on, the crowd’s energy only increased. Early in the day, fans enjoyed the performances while lounging on the grass, but as each band took the stage, the audience became more animated. By later in the day, Nonpoint’s powerful set had the crowd on their feet, with spontaneous crowd surfing and circle pits adding to the excitement.

    Stabbing Westward’s darker, industrial sound provided a unique contrast to the day’s lineup, while Boy Hits Car and Brand New Sin set the tone with their high-energy opening performances. Hoobastank’s set was a highlight, with the crowd passionately singing along to every word of their hit song, “The Reason.”

    The festival reached its peak when Puddle of Mudd took the stage. As the sun began to set, its golden rays cast a beautiful glow over the stage, creating a magical backdrop for the band’s performance. The crowd sang along to every hit and savored the moment as the sun set

    Overall, the Krockathon Reboot was a triumph, offering a perfect blend of nostalgic rock hits and modern festival energy.   • Chevy Court Hosts Krockathon Reboot on July 27

    After a five-year hiatus, Krockathon is making its long-awaited return to Syracuse on Saturday, July 27 at Chevy Court located in the NYS Fairgrounds.

    Since 1996, this iconic festival has been a highlight for rock fans, and this year’s reboot promises to deliver an unforgettable experience with a stellar lineup of bands.

    Krockathon Reboot is not just a concert; it’s a full-day festival experience. The Chevy Court Fairgrounds will be buzzing with activity, food and drink vendors, and merchandise stands. The spacious grounds ensure plenty of room to enjoy the music and festival atmosphere comfortably.

    Throughout its original run, KRockathon drew hundreds of thousands of rock and metal fans to Central NY to see legendary acts like Deftones, Public Enemy and Korn. Following 21 years of rocking the region, KRockathon went on an indefinite hiatus. Its last showing was in 2018, featuring Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.

  • From Ashes to New’s Blackout Tour Part Two Rocks Waterstreet Music Hall

    On May 18, From Ashes to New electrified the stage at Waterstreet Music Hall with their Blackout Tour Part Two. They were joined by an exciting lineup of Ejiajh, Phix, Ekoh, and Point North, making it an unforgettable night for fans of rock, metal, and rap.

    Ejiajh Opens the Show

    The evening kicked off with Ejiajh, a dynamic rock/metal band hailing from Austin, TX. Their high-energy performance set the tone for the night, captivating the audience with their powerful riffs and commanding stage presence. Ejiajh’s set was a perfect blend of raw energy and technical prowess, leaving the crowd eagerly anticipating the acts to follow.

    Phix Keeps the Momentum

    Next up was Phix, a talented rapper and songwriter also from Texas. Phix brought a unique blend of lyrical depth and stage charisma, engaging the audience with his sharp rhymes and catchy hooks. A special highlight of Phix’s performance was the appearance of 11-year-old drumming prodigy Bronx Sandoval. Despite his young age, Bronx is no stranger to the stage, having completed four tours with the band. During a brief technical difficulty, Ekoh’s drummer joined Bronx for an impromptu jam session, showcasing their incredible synergy and adding a spontaneous thrill to the set.

    Following Phix was Ekoh, a rapper who has been rapidly gaining fame on social media platforms like TikTok and X. Ekoh’s performance was nothing short of electrifying, as he connected with the audience through his relatable lyrics and energetic delivery. His growing popularity was evident, with many fans in the crowd singing along to every word. Ekoh’s stage presence and interaction with the audience made for a highly engaging set.

    The penultimate act of the night was Point North, a band based in Los Angeles, CA. Point North delivered a high-octane performance, blending elements of rock and punk with infectious energy.     Finally, From Ashes to New took the stage, led by local favorite Danny, who previously fronted the band Vanity Strikes. The band’s performance was a triumphant homecoming for Danny, and the energy in the room was palpable. From Ashes to New delivered a powerful set, seamlessly

    blending their signature mix of rock, rap, and electronic elements. Danny’s connection to the local crowd added an extra layer of intensity to the performance, making it a night to remember.

  • A Sold Out Town Ballroom Hosts Fit For A King, Avoid, Counterparts and The Devil Wears Prada

    The Town Ballroom in Buffalo was set ablaze with raw energy and pulsating rhythms on January 23, as four powerhouse bands – Avoid, Counterparts, The Devil Wears Prada, and Fit For A King – took to the stage for a sold-out show on a rainy Tuesday night. Fans from across the city gathered in anticipation of a night that promised to be nothing short of epic, and they were not disappointed.

    Kicking off the evening with a relentless onslaught of hardcore energy, Avoid, got to work getting the crowd but the first thing that stood out before the music got underwear was the singer repping a local city hero, #17, Josh Allen from the Buffalo Bills with his Jersey.

    Going up next with a relentless onslaught of hardcore energy, Counterparts wasted no time in setting the tone for the night. Hailing from Ontario, Canada, the band delivered a blistering set that had the crowd moshing and screaming along to every word. With their signature blend of melodic hooks and ferocious breakdowns, Counterparts proved why they are considered one of the most exciting acts in the hardcore scene today.

    Next up was metalcore stalwarts The Devil Wears Prada, who took the stage by storm with their electrifying stage presence and infectious energy. Drawing from their extensive catalog of hits spanning over a decade, the band treated fans to a set filled with fan favorites and new material alike. From the haunting melodies of “Sacrifice” to the crushing heaviness of “Danger: Wildman,” The Devil Wears Prada delivered a performance that left the crowd in awe.

    Closing out the night at Town Ballroom were metalcore juggernauts Fit For A King, who wasted no time in unleashing a sonic assault that left the audience reeling. With their bone-crushing riffs and anthemic choruses, the band commanded the stage with authority, inciting mass sing-alongs and frenzied circle pits throughout their set. Tracks “Tower of Pain” and “When Everything Means Nothing” hit with visceral intensity, showcasing the band’s undeniable skill and musicianship.

    But beyond just the music, what truly made the night special was the palpable sense of camaraderie between the bands and their fans. From the shared shouts of the famous Buffalo chant “Let’s go Buffalo!” to the sweaty embraces in the pit, it was clear that this was more than just a concert – it was a community coming together to celebrate the power of music.
