Actor and comedian Jane Curtin, one of the original cast members on NBC\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live,<\/a>\u201d plans to make a visit to the University at Albany on Saturday, April 29 with two distinct events in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 4pm, Curtin, a two-time Emmy Award winner for Kate & Allie<\/em>, will participate in an on-stage interview with WAMC’s Joe Donahue as part of\u00a0The Creative Life: A Conversation Series<\/em>. This event is free and open to the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, later that day at 7:30pm, Jane Curtin will be a part of the cast of\u00a0Selected Shorts<\/em>, the live version of the weekly public radio show that airs locally on WAMC Northeast Public Radio.\u00a0 Tickets purchased in advance are $10-$15. Both appearances will take place at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown University at Albany campus at 1400 Washington Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting in its first season in 1975, Jane Curtin was one of the original \u201cNot Ready for Prime Time Players\u201d on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d and stayed with the show through the 1979-80 season. She later starred in two long-running television sitcoms, \u201cKate & Allie\u201d from 1984 through 1989, during which she won back-to-back Emmy Awards in 1984 and 1985, and \u201c3rd Rock from the Sun\u201d from 1996 through 2001. Curtin\u00a0also starred in all four seasons of \u201cUnforgettable\u201d as well as the television movie series \u201cThe Librarian\u201d and its spin-off television show, \u201cThe Librarians.\u201d Guest appearances have included\u201cThe Good Wife,\u201d \u201c48 Hours \u2019til Monday,\u201d \u201cThe Good Fight,\u201d \u201cBroad City,\u201d \u201cUnited We Fall\u201d and, most recently, \u201cThe Conners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane Curtin has appeared on Broadway in \u201cNoises Off,\u201d \u201cCandida,\u201d and \u201cOur Town.\u201d Her film credits include \u201cConeheads,\u201d \u201cAntz,\u201d\u201d I Love You, Man,\u201d \u201cI Don\u2019t Know How She Does It,\u201d \u201cThe Heat,\u201d \u201cThe Spy Who Dumped Me,\u201d \u201cCan You Ever Forgive Me?,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOde to Joy,\u201d \u201cGodmothered,\u201d and \u201cQueen Bees.\u201d Upcoming projects include the film \u201cJules,\u201d opposite Sir Ben Kingsley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
