  • BTS’ SUGA Announces Global Tour Stopping in New York

    SUGA, a South Korean rapper, songwriter, producer and member of 21st century pop icons, BTS announced his first-ever solo international tour. The tour begins with two nights at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY, on April 26th & 27th. There will also be a show at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on April 29.

    SUGA, also known as Yunki Min, is globally known for his record producing abilities. What makes this pop star special is his personal sense of musical philosophy, constantly pushing the boundaries through his works on BTS albums, solo projects and collaborations with other artists. The young Korean rapper has made music with Juice WRLD, Max, and So-ra Lee. SUGA has also contributed with the production the remix version of Coldplay x BTS’ “My Universe,” an Original Soundtrack for HYBE’s original story 7FATES

    BTS is an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene”. They are a GRAMMY-nominated South Korean boy band that has been capturing the hearts of millions of fans globally since their debut in June 2013. Members consist of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook The band has established themselves as 21st century pop icons breaking countless world records through their self-produced music, elite performances, and interactions with their fans. After BTS’ 2014 Skool Luv Affair, various BTS’s songs were produced by SUGA.

  • Renowned Guitarist Tab Benoit to Perform at Hangar Theatre on Feb. 19

    The illustrious guitarist, Tab Benoit announced his Winter/Spring 2023 Tour at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca. Enjoy songwriter, producer and guitarist, JD Simo open for Benoit on February 19th.

    The Chicago born Benoit has produced with artists such as Jack White, Tommy Emmanuel, Luther Dickinson, Dave Cobb and Blackberry Smoke. Additionally, Simo’s latest album, Mind Control was released in 2021.

    Louisiana Bayou blues guitarist Tab Benoit is renowned for his passionate environmental activism.  Benoit is a powerhouse that you won’t want to miss. He is treasured for his distinctive guitar tone and fiery playing. In 2020, Benoit was inducted into the Louisiana Folklife Center Hall of Master Folk Artists. In a recent review of Tab Benoit’s show in Salem, Blues Rock Revue reported, “The final song of the night was “Night Train” from 2005’s Fever on the Bayou which Benoit jammed on for over ten minutes with explosive guitar licks. It was a bring down the house conclusion”

    You also might’ve seen him in the documentary Hurricane on the Bayou. The documentary describes the effects of Hurricane Katrina, calls to protect and restore the Wetlands, and produced a CD to help restore the state’s Coastal Wetlands. Benoit has also been featured in the Sony Picture Classics 2022 movie JazzFest: A New Orleans Story.

  • Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán Announces 2023 Mexicano Desde La Raíz In New York

    Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán, otherwise known as, the “Best Mariachi in the World” has announced their 2023 Mexicano Desde La Raíz World Tour.

    After successfully touring Korea and Spain, Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán is ready to take the show on the road for a 10-city tour that includes a stop at United Palace Theatre in New York.

    Founded in 1897 by Gaspar Vargas, the Mexican folk ensemble has been featured in over 200 movies and recorded dozens of albums. The genre of mariachi music incorporates numerous Spanish dances such as pasodobles, valse, bailables, polkas, and danzones. Additionally, the ensemble has worked with several artists including Juan Gabriel and Linda Ronstadt. Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán also celebrates their latest single, “Mi Mejor Error.”

  • Armenian group Naghash Ensemble Announces first North American Tour, stop at Carnegie Hall

    In March 2023, the legendary Naghash Ensemble will make their debut touring North America. After years of triumphantly touring Europe, the ensemble will make several stops U.S and Canadian cities, with stops in New York City, California, Colorado, Michigan, Washington D.C. and Montreal.

    Naghash Ensemble was created in Yerevan, Armenia and led by Armenian-American composer John Hodian. The ensemble integrates the earthy spirituality of Armenian folk song, new classical music, and contemporary post-minimalism with the energy of rock and jazz.

    There are three marvelous female vocalists and melodic Armenian instruments, ranging from the uduk, oud, dhol, and piano. Arpine Ter- Petrosyan is an alto, while Hasmik Baghdasaryan and Tatevik Movsesyan are sopranos. Harutyun Chkolyan plays the duduk, Aramayis Nikoghosyan plays the oud, Tigran  Hovhannisyan plays the dhol, and John Hodian is the pianist/ composer. Expect to be met with enchanting new music inspired by sacred texts by the medieval Armenian mystic poet and priest, Mkrtich Naghash.
