  • Live At The Gantries Lineup Announced

    Presented by the Kupferberg Center for the Arts, Live at the Gantries brings free music to the banks of the East River. The concert series runs every Tuesday from July 11 through August 15. Performances are set to take place at Gantry Plaza State Park in Queens. 

    Each concert is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM. The series looks to support and foster some of the most talented local artists and bands in NYC. This year’s lineup features music from several different genres, including R&B, Afrobeat, Soul, Dance, and Jazz.

    The beauty of Live at the Gantries is that it brings together the vibrant Queens community and showcases the incredible musical talent. It’s a celebration of diversity, culture, and the power of music to bring people together

    Gantry Plaza State Park sits on 12 acres of land and gives attendees a pristine view of the Manhattan skyline. The park provides the perfect venue to enjoy the sounds of live music as the sun sets over the Big Apple.

    AJOYO is a groovy mixture of jazz, electronic, and pop all grounded in strong West African rhythms. Spearheaded by Sarah Elizabeth Charles, Yacine Boulares, and Jesse Fischer, their unique sound is perfect for summer. 

    TUE, JUL 18, 7 PM: Bartlett Contemporaries

    Bartlett Contemporaries with the Uptown Funk Sound is a dynamic band influenced by the diverse sounds of Queens, NY. Their music often lies somewhere in the realm of hip-hop. Blending bebop, hip hop, dance and more to create a sound that is both timeless and fresh. 

    TUE, JUL 25, 7 PM: Afro Dominicano

    Afro Dominicano infuses their songs with a captivating Afro-Caribbean soul. Incorporating Dominican styles with African elements, Afro Domincano produces music that encapsulates both the diversity and collectivity of NYC.

    TUE, AUG 1, 7 PM: Linda EPO’s Ensemble New Yorkino

    Growing up in Queens, New York City and Puebla City, Mexico Linda EPO’s voice has been greatly shaped by her cultural surroundings. As part of her career, Linda has been on a worldwide tour with the Grammy nominated Heritage Blues Orchestra.

    TUE, AUG 8, 7 PM: Michael Olatuja & Lagos Pepper Soup

    New York-based composer and bassist Michael Olatuja combines the sounds of Lagos, London, and New York City to create “cinematic Afrobeat”. One of the most innovative artists today, Olatuja has worked with the likes of Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Shakira, and Angelique Kidjo. 

    TUE, AUG 15, 7 PM: Slavo Rican Assembly

    The Slavo Rican Assembly was founded by Jan Kus, a saxophonist and composer hailing from Slovenia and based in New York City. This seven-piece band combines Latin jazz scene with South Slavic musical heritage.

  • Goose Announce Plans for 10th Annual Goosemas

    While on an extensive Summer tour, rock band Goose has announced that they will continue their “Goosemas Holiday Celebration” for a 10th straight year December 8-9, 2023, taking place at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA.

    Goosemas will be the final 2023 show for Goose and a holiday tradition that started as a small holiday get-together with close friends from Connecticut (where the group started off).

    “Goosemas is always one of my favorite shows of the year…I love how everyone gets into the spirit with us, and this year it will be extra special coinciding with our first show at the legendary Hampton Coliseum.”

    From June until the December shows in Hampton, Goose will be touring across the United States and Europe, making stops in large cities such as Chicago, London, and Paris over the next six months.

  • Raphael Saadiq And Tony! Toni! Toné! Stop At Radio City On New Tour

    Award-winning artist, writer, composer, and producer Raphael Saadiq recently revealed that he and Tony! Toni! Toné! would be returning to the Radio City Music Hall. The show is part of their new tour “Just Me & You”, which stops in New York on September 30.

    The Tony’s are known for being one of the most influential and successful R&B groups of all time. Composed of brothers Raphael Saadiq and D’wayne Wiggins and their cousin Timothy Christian Riley, the Tonys have been making music since 1986. 

    The group found massive success early on in their career with the album Who?, which landed on Billboard’s “Top Pop Albums” chart. Four songs off of the album reached the R&B Top 10, including the hit “Little Walter”. Their biggest success would come in the form of their second project, The Revival. The album spawned several hits, the most notable being “Feels Good” which made its way into the Top 10 of the “Hot 100”. 

    The group began to explore their own individual pursuits after their final album House Of Music in 1996. Saadiq became a much sought after producer and writer, helping to create hit songs for the likes of D’Angelo and The Roots. He also released several of his own albums, including Instant Vintage and Ray Ray

    Tony! Toni! Toné! are set to perform some of the biggest and most monumental songs. The tour will also feature some of Saadiq’s most popular work, including some of the tracks he helped to make for Daniel Caesar, Brent Faiyaz, and Beyonce. Click here for more details and tickets.

  • Tubby’s Caps Off Summer Of Music With An Anniversary Celebration

    Part neighborhood bar and part underground music venue, Tubby’s has established itself as a must-stop destination for music lovers across New York. Located in Kingston, the bar has become a premier venue in the Hudson Valley

    Tubby’s has earned a reputation for highlighting both underground and well-known artists just about every night. Positioned roughly 100 miles North of NYC, the venue has developed into the perfect haven for acts leaving or entering the city. Past performers include Black Midi, Steve Gunn, Jeff Parker, MIKE, Protomartyr, Katy Kirby, and more.

    Tubby’s commitment to high-quality music means that there is always a wide assortment of genres, sounds, and styles represented on a weekly basis. This commitment goes further than just picking great acts. Owned and operated mostly by musicians, Tubby’s is also dedicated to treating artists with the utmost respect.

    This summer, the bar/venue will host well over 30 concerts. Some of the bands and artists performing are Joyce Manor, R.L. Boyce, Soul Glo, and Rose City Band.

    Even when the warm weather starts to fizzle out the music doesn’t stop at Tubby’s. The venue, originally founded in 2018, plans to celebrate its five-year anniversary in late September with a festival. “Tubby’s 5 Year Anniversary Weekend” will go down across three days, September 29 through October 1.

  • Rockin’ on the River 2023 Announces Lineup

    Rockin’ on the River 2023 announced the four-show series will return to its former location of River Front Park in Troy on Wednesday, June 28, July 12, July 26, and Aug. 9.

    Each concert at the Rockin’ on the River 2023 series is free to attend, happening from 5:30-9 p.m. and features vendors local to downtown Troy. Free parking is available on-street in designated areas and throughout the district, with several lots and garages all within walking distance of the show.

    We are excited for Rockin’ on the River to return with four shows to one of its former original locations River Front Parks. This
    event brings a lot of buzz and excitement in Downtown Troy. We focus a lot on supporting our local bands as you’ll notice with our line-up, everything about Rockin’ on the River supports local, with this location we are such a short walk from one end of the downtown district to the other, it’s easy to enjoy great shopping before the show, and food and drinks after.

    Skeeter Creek is a five-piece Americana band blending their own variants of country, folk, bluegrass, and rock, and is ranked among the best of the new and upcoming alternative artists.   • Kerry Washington to Visit the Bronx and Manhattan for Fall Book Tour

    As a part of her eight-city tour to support her upcoming memoir, “Thicker than Water,” Kerry Washington will be visiting the Bronx and Manhattan in NYC this September. The event will be an intimate evening with the award-winning actress, director, producer, and activist, spotlighting experiences both on and off-stage.

    Kerry Washington is an Emmy-winning, SAG, and Golden Globe-nominated native of the Bronx. She was widely recognized for her role as Olivia Pope on the hit ABC drama Scandal, the first black woman to headline a network TV drama since 1974. She is a lifelong advocate and activist, using her voice to fight for justice and transformational change.

    The tour kicks off in Washington’s hometown of the Bronx before moving to various locations across the United States and United Kingdom. Washington will disclose to audiences the behind the scenes of her life as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a Black woman. In addition, she will share the lessons she has learned for healing childhood wounds, how she embraces adversity, and the wisdom she has gained over her life.

  • Free Summer Concert Series Begins at Hudson Yards

    Hudson Yards will be hosting free outdoor concerts weekly throughout the summer. Concerts at the Wells Fargo Stage are open to the public and will take place every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Public Square & Gardens.

    Audiences can watch the concerts at Hudson Yards, the newest neighborhood on Manhattan’s West Side. The Backyard at Hudson Yards concert series is located between 10 and 11 Avenue and between 30 and 34 Street.

    July artists include Best New Artist Grammy-nominated jazz duo DOMi & JD BECK. Fresh off their stint at Coachella, acclaimed indie singer/producer Vagabon makes an appearance, as well as the band flor, whose career started on tour with Halsey. In August, The 502s will perform on the heels of their viral song “Just a Little While.”

    Following each concert, select restaurants and bars at The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards will host “After Hours” events, featuring a live DJ with food and drink specials.

  • American Roots Music Festival at Caramoor Grounds Returns on June 24

    Caramoor Ground’s American Roots Music Festival returns this Summer with a packed music lineup performing throughout the grounds, as artists coming from blues, Americana, folk, and bluegrass will hit the stage Saturday, June 24.

    Including nine different musicians, with ten-time Grammy nominee Brandy Clark as the evening headliner, the festival at Caramoor Grounds expects to be another fantastic experience like past years.

    The Mike Block Trio, who will be performing at the American Roots Music Festival on June 24.

    For the schedule, the grounds open at 12:00 pm, music starts at 12:30 pm, headliner starts at 7:30 pm. Concert-goers will need to reserve seats for the evening headliner. The daytime performances will not have reserved seating and the festival suggests bringing your own seats during this time.

    There will be a free shuttle from Metro North’s Katonah train station to and from the American Roots Music Festival, running before and after every summer afternoon and evening concert.

  • Skid Row to Close 2023 NYS Fair

    The New York State Fair has announced that Skid Row will close out the Fair on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Suburban Park Stage.

    Founded in 1832 by a group of local farmers for agriculture and local fairs, The Great New York State Fair did not become a musical showcase until the 1950s and 1960s, when the fair began gearing towards entertainment.

    Touring in support of their newest album, The Gang’s All Here, Skid Row will play through new songs as well as the fan favorites that first put them on the map, like “18 and Life,” “Youth Gone Wild,” and “I Remember You,” as well as new singles too, including “Tear it Down,” “Time Bomb,” and “The Gang’s All Here.” The band features original members Rachel Bolan (Bass), Dave “Snake” Sabo (Guitar), and Scotti Hill (Guitar), with Rob Hammersmith (Drums), and the newest member and longtime fan of the band, Erik Grönwall (Lead Vocals), a Swedish Idol winner (2009).

    All shows, including Skid Row, are included in the New York State Fair admission.

    With almost a week left until the first day of the festival, set times for the highly anticipated event are now available. The Peach Music Festival was created in 2012 as the first-ever Allman Brothers Band-inspired festival in the Northeast and has quickly evolved into one of the most highly-anticipated summer musical events loved by music enthusiasts from across the nation. It is a one-of-a-kind festival, as it features food and craft vendors on the grounds and access to the scenic Montage Mountain Ski Resort’s large water park.

    Headlining is Goose, performing two sets, on Thursday, June 29; Ween on Friday, June 30; My Morning Jacket on Saturday, July 1; and Tedeschi Trucks Band on Sunday, July 2, with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Mike Gordon, Lettuce, Twiddle, and Ripe. Featured at this year’s festival will be a performance of the Allman Brothers Band record Brothers & Sisters, with founding member Jaimoe performing as Jaimoe and Friends and duo Brother and Sister. There will also be a special appearance by Trouble No More, featuring Brandon “Taz” Niederaurer (Guitar, Vocals), Daniel Donato (Guitar, Vocals), Dylan Niederaurer (Bass Guitar), Jack Ryan (Drums), Lamar Williams Jr. (Vocals), Nikki Glaspie (Drums), Peter Levin (Keys) and Roosevelt Collier (Pedal Steel Guitar).

    Newly added to the Peach Festival lineup include Ziggy Marley, Australian Pink Floyd performing a 50th-anniversary tribute to Dark Side of the Moon, Jupiter & Okwess, Broadband featuring Kanika Moore, The National Reserve, J.D. Simo, Little Bird, and Mountain Grass Unit. Late-night sets at the Peach Music Festival will feature LP Giobbi presenting Dead House and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Peach on Friday, June 30, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, and Magic City Hippies on Saturday, July 1.
