This musical night will include the renowned director of this orchestra, Leon Botstein, along with pianists Gilles Vonsattel and Frank Corliss. This night will also present mezzo-soprano Deborah Nansteel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/TON-May-12-768x271.png\" alt=\"Orchestra Now\" class=\"wp-image-412486\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corliss is the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/site\/2021\/09\/08\/the-orchestra-now-is-back-for-live-performances\/\">Bard College Conservatory of Music<\/a>, while Vonsattel is a Swiss soloist and Bard Conservatory faculty member. Corliss will perform William Grant Still&#8217;s <em>Dismal Swamp<\/em>, which is a portrayal of captive peoples seeking freedom. Nansteel will perform, Karl Amadeus Hartmann&#8217;s Symphony No. 1,&nbsp;<em>Essay for a Requiem<\/em>, regarding conditions under the Nazi regime. Lastly, Vonsattel&#8217;s performance is based on Mexican Symphonic Orchestra music director and composer,&nbsp;Carlos Ch\u00e1vez\u2019s virtuosic <em>Piano Concerto<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tickets for this event are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnegiehall.org\/\">Carnegie Hall website<\/a>. It is essential for ticket holders to adhere to the venue&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnegiehall.org\/Our-Commitment-to-You\">safety protocols<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to T\u014cN&#8217;s show at Carnegie Hall, on May 7 and 8 this same program will be performed at the Fisher Center at Bard. Led by T\u014cN resident conductor&nbsp;Zachary Schwartzman, Hungarian composers Franz Liszt, B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, Emmerich K\u00e1lm\u00e1n, and Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly will have the spotlight during this event.
