  • SZA Announces First Arena Tour, Madison Square Garden Stop Set for March

Superstar R&B songstress, SZA, will be embarking on her first nationwide arena tour — The S.O.S. North American Tour — in promotion of her number 1 selling album, SOS.

The SOS Tour will see SZA perform at arenas nationwide.

Produced by Live Nation, the exclusive 17-city tour kicks-off on February 21 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH, and includes a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Along with special guest Omar Apollo, the tour will see SZA make stops in visit Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta, Seattle, Vancouver and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum. This tour marks the first time the Grammy-winning singer is playing venues of this size while debuting her critically-acclaimed album live to fans.

    SZA’s Rise

All in all, SZA has been an industry mainstay for nearly a decade. Her 2014 EP, Z, put her on the map with records like “Child’s Play” and “Babylon.” But, 2017 would see her reach mainstream stardom with the release of CTRL. SZA’s debut recording earned her widespread recognition, including four Grammy nomination and a spot on Rolling Stone‘s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

SZA has continued to garner recognition since the release of Ctrl. Despite her hiatus from solo work, she received a 2022 Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat. She also won Billboard Music Awards’ Top R&B Female Artist, BET Awards’ Best New Artist, BET Soul Train Awards’ Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best New Artist, MTV Video Music Awards’ Best Visual Effects for the “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar, and NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding New Artist. In 2019, she won NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding Duo or Group for “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar and Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation for the Black Panther Soundtrack. SZA also received Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music Rule Breaker award.

What to Expect From the SOS Tour

Although a now decorated recording artist, SZA’s greatest achievement is her longstanding relationship with her fans. Not many artists can not release an album for five years and debut at number 1 on the Billboard charts. A talented artist, SZA’s vulnerability on her records leaves a lasting impact on listeners. Topics revolving around love, desires and insecurities have made her this era’s go-to R&B songstress. The addition of Grammy-nominated artist, Omar Apollo, should make for an impassioned set of performances. With about 300K in first-week sales, fans were eager for SZA’s sophomore effort and should be even more restless to see it live.

Tickets can be purchased on the SOS Tour official website.

The Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden, originally scheduled for Monday, December 19, has been postponed until June 2, 2023.

    Billy Joel MSG

In a statement from Billy Joel’s spokesperson, a viral infection that affected his vocals was the cause of the postponement.

Billy Joel is under strict doctor’s orders for vocal rest due to a viral infection and as a result, his concert scheduled for Monday, December 19th at Madison Square Garden is postponed to Friday, June 2nd. We understand the inconvenience this causes everyone who purchased tickets, and we apologize for this unexpected circumstance.

On Facebook, Billy said to fans, “I’m disappointed to share that I’m under doctor’s orders for vocal rest due to a viral infection so unfortunately, I must postpone my Monday, December 19th concert at Madison Square Garden to June. I’m so sorry to let you know so close to show day, but I was hoping to be closer to a full recovery by now. Sadly, that hasn’t happened. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.”

All tickets purchased for the December 19, 2022 concert will be honored on Friday, June 2, 2023 and will not need to be exchanged. However, the June 2nd performance is subject to change if it conflicts with a Knicks playoff game. For more information, please visit msg.com.

Billy Joel will next perform at Madison Square Garden on January 13, 2023, making this Friday the 13th Joel’s 86th consecutive monthly show, and 132nd lifetime at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

In December 2013, Billy Joel was named Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise, joining the ranks of the storied venue’s other original franchises – the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. The record-breaking residency began in January 2014 with Joel playing one show every month at The Garden, “as long as the demand continues,” says Joel.

Billy Joel is one of the biggest concert draws in the world, selling out arenas and stadiums across the globe. Having sold 150 million records over the past quarter century and scoring 33 consecutive Top 40 hits, Joel ranks as one of the most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time and the third best-selling solo artist. In 2016, the Library of Congress selected “Piano Man” for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its “cultural, historic, and artistic significance.”

Joel received The Kennedy Center Honors, one of the United States’ top cultural awards, in December 2013. He is also the recipient of six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards including a TONY AWARD for “Movin’ Out,” a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music. For his accomplishments as a musician and as a humanitarian, Joel was honored as the 2002 MusiCares Person Of The Year by the MusiCares Foundation and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

Fresh off the success of the NY State of Mind Tour, with Wu-Tang Clan and special guest Busta Rhymes, Nas will once again hit the road on the heels of his latest release, King’s Disease III. The first two-installments of the series both earned him grammy nominations, with the former earning Nas his first-ever win. As such, the fabled rapper has once again recruited Hit-boy to complete the trilogy. The duo has worked together extensively the past few years, producing three King’s Disease albums and their Christmas EP, Magic.

A headlining performance at MSG will culminate the career of one of New York Cities most devoted sons. Nas’ career was made off of his incredible storytelling in which he depicted inner-city New York living. One of his more renowned records “NY State of Mind” has become a hip hop staple, with Nas becoming an embodiment of the city. Having influenced so many, Nas will finally get to take his rightful place as an MSG headliner.

    Nas’ Other Ventures

Recently, Nas executive produced the limited three-part SHOWTIME docuseries, Supreme Team with Peter J. Scalettar. The documentary recalled the notorious New York drug syndicate and its long-standing cultural influence. Moreover, the film made its debut at this year’s Tribeca Festival this past summer. Furthermore, Nas also narrated and executive produced The Invaders documentary, following the rise and fall of a militant black power group based in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 1960’s.

Fans can access exclusive King’s Disease III content, merchandise, and experiences here, while a limited deluxe version of the vinyl is exclusively available on Mass Appeal’s website.

But after a string of sold out shows on the fall leg of the REBA: Live In Concert Tour, Reba has decided to add 14 more dates for Spring of 2023, with special guests Terri Clark and The Issacs. The tour will conclude at MSG.

  • Depeche Mode Embark on 2023 “Memento Mori” World Tour with a Stops at MSG, Barclays Arena Date Added

Depeche Mode, the influential English electronic duo of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, will embark on their first tour in over five years, in support of the band’s forthcoming studio album, Memento Mori, due in Spring 2023. They’ll make one stop in the Empire State at Madison Square Garden on April 14, before heading over the Europe for four months of shows across the continent. Stella Rose & The Dead Language will join as support. Just announced – they’ll play later this year at MSG on October 28, with an additional performance at Barclays Arena on October 21.

    Depeche Mode memento mori

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to press on as the Memento Mori album and tour represents the opening of the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.

We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.

    Martin Gore

Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.

    Dave Gahan

Memento Mori (Latin for “remember that you must die”) will be Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed SpiritMemento Mori will be released worldwide in Spring 2023 via Columbia Records.

    Opening Acts for Depeche Mode

Darkly poetic and industrial leaning, Stella Rose and her band The Dead Language have graced venues all over their native New York City and Brooklyn. With a confidence that belies the band’s relative newness, The Dead Language has quickly built a distinctive sonic and visual identity on the foundation of Stella Rose’s lyricism and stage presence. Myles Mullen completes The Dead Language’s assault on the senses, painting the stage with imagery that meshes with and reacts to the music, creating a visceral story for the audience. The result is utterly unique and new—while paying homage to the downtown NYC golden age(s) that gave us the Velvet Underground, Patti Smith, Blondie, and Warhol’s Factory. Stella Rose’s first two singles, “Muddled Man” and “Angel” were released in Fall 2022.

Wales-born London-bred musician and producer Kelly Lee Owens’ unique melding of electronic music’s coolness and warmth has built her an eclectic following of fans, critics, and fellow musicians including St. Vincent, Bjork, John Cale, and of course Depeche Mode. With vocals as confident and captivating as her beats, Owens has built a formidable solo discography that includes the albums Kelly Lee Owens, Inner Song, and her latest record LP.8, released in spring 2022 to unanimous critical praise, including Clash magazine’s lauding its “giant leap in her evolution as an artist, continuing to build on an ever-growing discography of limitless promise”
