  • Rock The Bells Announces First-Ever Timeless Hip Hop Cruise

    LL Cool J founded media platform, Rock The Bells, have announced their latest venture, “Rock The Bells Cruise: A Hip-Hop Experience” in partnership with Sixthman. The hip hop culture platform will team with the industry leading theme cruise charter company to offer fans of hip hop a new way to experience their favorite era of hip hop and immerse themselves in the mystique of the genre’s golden era.

    What is Rock The Bells?

    With this intention, the brand is bringing its annual Rock The Bells Festival – a day-long celebration of hip hop curated by founder LL Cool J in his hometown of Queens, NY. Setting sail from Miami to the Bahamas from November 13 – November 17, 2023, the cruise will feature live performances by iconic artists. Not to mention, “Rock The Bells Cruise: A Hip-Hop Experience” is the first of its kind, offering an all-inclusive four-day, four-night Hip-Hop experience aboard the Norwegian Pearl. The cruise is one of many announcements the company has planned to honor and celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary and salute its icons. 

    The Norwegian Pearl will play host to “Rock The Bells Cruise: A Hip-Hop Experience.”

    Thus, the expedition kicks-off with a special “Welcome to Miami” performance by Miami hip hop legends Trick Daddy and Trina on the ship’s pool deck. Attendees that purchase their cabin before January 18, 2023, will be able to hang out with Trick Daddy and Trina at a private cocktail happy hour prior to setting sail. Moreover, guests that purchase before January 18, 2023 can also start a free 3-month subscription to SiriusXM and tune into into LL Cool J’s Rock The Bells Radio on Channel 43 and on the SXM App.

    The full cruise lineup will be announced at the top of the new year, but attendees can expect dozens of performances and intimate experiences from some of Hip-Hop’s classic MCs, DJs and producers. In effect, Rock The Bells will be taking over every corner of the ship with pool deck parties presented by world renowned DJ Kid Capri. Other fun endeavors will include MC and DJ battles, rap karaoke, interactive graffiti, live podcasts, roller skating, open mic nights, movie screenings, masterclasses, art galleries, custom grillz, tattoos, basketball and The Trill Mealz Food Court.

  • Music at Noon Lineup Revealed by Troy Savings Bank Music Hall

    The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall have announced the return of popular lunchtime series, Music at Noon. Back for the 2022-23 season, Music at Noon has taken place on the second Tuesday of each month from October to May, since 1988.

    The free concert series has presented exceptional musicians with a diverse mix of musical styles. Sponsored by the New York State Council on the Art and the Fagan Associates,the kickoff to the season will feature guitar and vocal pops from Hui Cox and Laura Roth on October 11 and run until May 9, with various genres gracing Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Other Music at Noon performers will include Acoustic guitarist Thomasina Winslow, Classical Pianist Akina Yura, country/bluegrass quartet The Buebillies, among many other diverse performers.

    While Music at Noon performances are free to attend, Teachers with buses and large groups should call ahead to reserve seats. There will also be a limited number of handicapped accessible spaces available.  Groups with special seating requests can contact the box office.   • Billy Joel Announces 87th Monthly Show At Madison Square Garden

    Madison Square Garden Entertainment have announced that legendary musician and MSG’s first-ever music franchise, Billy Joel, has added another show as part of his record-breaking residency at the world’s most famous arena. Set for Friday, January 13, 2023, the show will mark 133rd lifetime concert at the Garden.

    In December 2013, Billy Joel was named the historic venue’s first-ever music franchise. In doing so, he joined the ranks of other monumental MSG franchises, the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. The record-breaking residency began in January 2014 with Joel playing one show every month at the Garden, “as long as the demand continues.”

    Fittingly, Billy Joel is one of the world’s biggest draw, having sold out arenas and stadiums across the globe. The grammy-winning musician is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time and the third best-selling solo artist. Having sold over 150 million records and scoring 33 consecutive Top 40 hits. In 2016, the Library of Congress selected his debut North American single “Piano Man” for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its “cultural, historic, and artistic significance.”

    Billy Joel has been mesmerizing the Garden for decades.

    All in all, Billy Joe’s residency at the Garden is no accident. Joel brings prestige to an already prestigious venue. Fans of the “piano man” have watched him ascend to legendary status. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mr. Long Island also received a TONY award for “Movin’ Out,” a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music.

    Citi cardmembers will have first access to presale tickets. Beginning Monday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. through Thursday, September 22 at 10:00 p.m. via www.citientertainment.com.

    Tickets will be available for purchase by the general public beginning at 10:00 a.m. (east) on Friday, September 23 via www.ticketmaster.com. Due to congestion and high-demand, it can be difficult to purchase tickets right away, so continue to check Ticketmaster throughout the day.

  • Byron Bay Bluesfest Announces First Lineup Including Joe Bonamassa and Greensky Bluegrass

    The 34th annual Byron Bay Bluesfest Festival’s initial lineup has been revealed. Featuring international artists for the first time since 2019’s pre-pandemic festival, the first lineup released features over 40 artists.

    Set for April 6-10, Bluesfest will see some of the finest contemporary and legendary blues, roots, soul, rock, hip hop, r&b, world and americana artists take the stage. This will be the first original style Bluesfest since the world re-opened. Last year primarily featured Australian and New Zealand Artists. Among those making their way down under are Utica’s own and renowned blues guitarist, Joe Bonamassa, bluegrass music innovators Greensky Bluegrass and jam-band favorites, Southern Avenue.

    What is Bluesfest All-About?

    Bluesfest is held over five days at the Byron Events Farm each easter long weekend. Event facilities include seven performance stages, nine licensed bars and two undercover food courts. There are many independent food vendors, car parking for over 7,000 vehicles and camping for up to 6,500 people.

    In the coming weeks, Bluesfest will release more of the line-up, along with artist performance dates so that both day-trippers and 3-day ticket holders can make an informed choice. There will also be further announcements on two special satellite events happening in Melbourne and Perth.

    And more good news is that ticket prices, camping and VIP tickets remain the same as 2022’s prices. That’s despite the significant increase in cost of international flights and freight logistics, with artist fees also on the rise. Bluesfest will also invest in upgrading the VIP area in order to give its supporters the best experience possible. For the campers that seek a “class above” experience you can upgrade to the Rainbow Tipi accommodation this year.

    Whilst there are still plenty of Aussie artists listed in this first and upcoming announcements it is wonderful to once again in 2023, after four long years be able to bring back some of the greatest Blues, Roots, Soul, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, World and Americana artists (and so much more) back to our shores after so long.   • The National Jazz Museum in Harlem Announces August Events

    Throughout the month of August, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem will offer five unique programs to celebrate the Afro-Latin roots of jazz music. From August 6 to August 30, attendees can listen, learn, and celebrate the long-lasting traditions of the genre.

    The National Jazz Museum in Harlem aims to “preserve, promote, and present jazz by inspiring knowledge, appreciation and the celebration of jazz” in all areas. With exhibits, educational programs, panels, concerts, and more the center continues its commitment to the genre. With Artistic Directors Jon Batiste and Christian McBride, the museum offers inspiring experiences.

    Starting on August 6 at 1 p.m., Jaambo will lead a city-wide dance party on the steps of the National Arts Club. Co-founded by percussionist Baba Don Eaton, Jaambo’s sound and groove will get you moving.  Baba Don Eaton currently also teaches African drumming and has previously recorded with jazz artists such as Donald Brown, Joe Henderson, and Jason Linder.

    Two bands will lead the programming on August 11: brass band Funky Dawgs and the Afro-Latin Jazz ensemble Uptown Royalty NYC. This energetic concert at the Harlem State Office Building will begin at 6 p.m. for a great night of dance music. 

    More August events include Colombian pro music from Martin Vejarano on August 25 at 2 p.m. followed by solo pianist Ahmed Alom at 7 p.m. Alom’s concert will explore early African-American ragtime and the Cuban danzon among other musical forms.

    The programmings and celebration of Afro-Latin Jazz will end on August 30 with a panel discussion led by Zack O’Farrill at 7 p.m. The event will include the insight and inspiration of young artists in the Afro-Latin genre and how they are honoring and expanding its music traditions.

  • Buffalo Jazz Festival to Bring Live Music Labor Day Weekend

    On Sunday, September 4, Buffalo Jazz Festival brings four acts to the area for a full day of live music during Labor Day Weekend.

    From noon until 6:30 pm, the West Plaza of the Seneca One Tower in Buffalo will bring audiences live music, food trucks, refreshments, and entertainment for all ages. In the second year of the festival using the venue space, people can enjoy a free community concert.

    To open up the Buffalo Jazz Festival, NYC-based John Troy Quartet will perform from 12 noon until 1:15 pm. John Aaron Troy is a saxophonist, multiple woodwind musician, and educator. The artist picked up the saxophone at age 10 and his music is ever-evolving since then. 

    From 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm, Trigger & the Sermon will take the spotlight. Trigger & the Sermon Organ Jazz Quartet play classical soul-jazz while mixing in unique rhythm and groove. The group has played at multiple venues in the Buffalo area, including at the Four One Six and Duende at Silo City.

    The Dave Hill Group brings more entertainment to the Buffalo Jazz Festival, with a performance from 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm. Dave Hill Group consists of Jim Linsler (drums), Pat Georger (keys), Tim Sheldon (bass), Colin Brydalski (bass), and Matt Harris on saxophone.

    To close out the festival Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble will play from 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm. A Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Inductee who has played with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Arthuro Sandovar, and Ben Vereen, the performance is sure to be one to remember.

  • Lincoln Hill Farms: An Historic Venue in the Finger Lakes

    With more than 95 acres of space for entertainment, Lincoln Hill Farms offers a music and event venue like no other. Situated just a few minutes from downtown Canandaigua, the spot is perfect for music, drinks, and food alongside beautiful scenery.

    The idyllic property offers a great environment for celebrations, music, corporate and private events, weddings, and more. Originally settled by the Dewey Family over a hundred years ago, the space was transformed by local owner Brain Mastrosimone and opened to the public in 2019. From rows of picturesque sunflowers, a two-story silo bar, a food truck, and a rustic pavilion, the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. 

    Over the course of the year, the space holds multiple events for all attendees to enjoy, including music in front of the gorgeous Lincoln Hill Farms Hops Yard stage. The venue’s Summer concert series also began back in May with the Skycoasters kicking off the season. Other shows continue into the summer, including bluegrass septet Railroad Earth on July 28 and folk musician Trevor Hall on August 9, and more. In addition to Lincoln Hill Farms’ summer concert series, the venue will also host BrewFest 2022 on August 13 with headliner Tim Reynolds. 

    In addition to all the music entertainment opportunities at Lincoln Hill Farms, Sunday Fun Days occur every Sunday from 1 to 8 pm through August 28. The festivities include live music, free parking, and baby goat petting open to all ages. The venue also partners with nearby venue CMAC and offers shuttle rides when both spaces are hosting shows.

    Lincoln Hill Farms nestled in the scenic Finger Lakes region offers multiple entertainment options for anyone to choose from. Throughout the season there is always something new and exciting happening in the space to explore and enjoy.

  • Farming Man Returns to Indian Ladder Farms on July 16

    The Farming Man Fest returns to Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont on Saturday, July 16, from 2 pm to 11 pm.

    The celebration paused due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but is back and better than ever, offering attendees hours of live music and craft beverages. The fest will celebrate with 28 breweries, 4 distilleries, 7 bands, and 4 DJs over the course of 9 hours.

    Farming Man, formerly known as Bottle Share, began in 2014 with about 10 breweries with the aim to help the industry grow and network. After just a few years, the fest has successfully grown after being first opened completely to the public in 2018.

    Visitors can take in the scenery of the century-old Indian Ladder Farms orchards as they make their way to the back of the farm where the fest will take place overseeing views of the Helderberg Escarpment. Producers from all over New York State will meet them there with brews and ciders to enjoy as they take in the live music.

    This year’s featured bands include The Jagaloons, Televisionaries, The Abyssmals, Bruel County Bad Boys, BattleaXXX, Mystery Girl, The College Farm, and DJs Big Ed, Ritz Carlton, and Spacewolf with Masterpeace.

    Another highlight of the festival will be the premiere of “Farming Man the Beer,” which Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery Head Brewer, Scott Veltman, will taste on the day of the festival. Multiple breweries collaborated with Indian Ladder Farms, including Common Roots Brewing, Plan Bee, Wayward Lane, and others.

    Tickets for those who wish to just enjoy music and food are $25. General Admission for those 21+ are $30, and includes a commemorative pint glass. Kids under 13 years of age are free. For more information and tickets, click here.
