Governors Ball Music Festival 2022 is less than a month away, and festival organizers have announced the stage layout and daily schedule. Initially available in the Gov Ball app for the first 24 hours, fans can now start putting together and sharing their own custom schedules.
The schedule this year does an excellent job of avoiding any major conflicts and the layout of the venue allows fans to move easily between stages. Some notable overlaps include JPEGMAFIA vs. Channel Tres on Friday, YG vs. Diesel or Flume vs. Halsey on Saturday, and Kaytranada vs. J. Cole on Sunday.

Last year’s Governors Ball lineup included massive headliners such as Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, and Post Malone. The festival’s first year at Citi Field was a massive success, despite their departure from the traditional Randall’s Island venue, with over 150,000 people in attendance reported. The more centrally located venue in the heart of Flushing boasts easy access to the subway, bus, and pedestrian throughways giving fans much easier accessibility.
Governors Ball 2022 Schedule
Returning to Citi Field from June 10th to June 12th, 2022, the stacked lineup features headliners Halsey, Kid Cudi, and J. Cole along with a slew of up and coming and long-standing artists. Governors Ball has always showcased local New York artists on the bill, and this year is no different.
Singer and songwriter Gus Dapperton was born and raised in Warwick, and ska-punk band Millington hail from Albany. Plastic Picnic features two duos from the Pacific Northwest who met in Brooklyn after moving to the city and formed a new band. The overall lineup represents a melting pot of musical tastes, styles, and regions, but that’s a story as old as New York itself.

Governors Ball also successfully mimics New York’s long history of dive bar concerts with their Bud Light Seltzer Sessions. Embedded into the festival layout, this small stage features some of the names on the lineup who will perform a more intimate set at the casual dive bar style stage. The magic of a festival happens when you round a corner and bump into something unexpected, and these more casual performances provide just that.
Outside of the music, the star of the weekend will certainly be the food. Queens County is one of the most diverse municipalities anywhere in the world and a festival that calls Queens home must have the food to prove it. There will be classic NYC staples such as Roberta’s Pizza, Doughnuttery donuts, and Williamsburg’s finest fried chicken with Sweet Chick.
Choose between Destination Dumplings and Disos’ Italian sandwiches, Gordos Cantina tacos or Empanada Papas. And it wouldn’t be Queens without the largest Greek community outside of Greece represented with Efes Greek Kitchen and Souvlaki GR. Check out the entire food lineup below.
With the festival rapidly approaching, tickets are still available. Third and final tier 3-Day GA tickets are still on sale as well as single day tickets to all three days and the VIP and Platinum ticket packages. Full ticket details can be found HERE.
Read more about the official Governors Ball After Dark late night shows that take place after the estival HERE. NYS Music will be on the ground again this year at Governors Ball, so stay tuned for full artist photo galleries from this year’s festival. In the meantime, check out some highlights from the 2021 festival by David Reichmann and Steve Malinski.

Blackthorne Resort will play host for the second annual event over August 11-14, with four nights of music starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday.
Giving back is a big part of the Jubilee community, as the festival contributes a portion of its profits to charitable causes. In 2021, over $15,000 was raised for three different nonprofits. Catskill Mountain Jubilee is brought to you by Drop the Mics and Full Circle Music Productions.

JazzFest White Plains has announced the artist line-up for the 2022 festival, to be held from September 14-18 in several locations including ArtsWestchester, Grace Episcopal Church and White Plains Public Library.
Headliners for the festival include the Joey Alexander Trio, the Buster Williams Quartet, Grace Kelly and Ragan Whiteside and Friends. These major acts will also be joined by Miki Hayama and Richie Goods, the Albert Rivera Quintet, the Carlos Jimenez Mambo Sextet, the G. Thomas Allen Quartet and more.
Grammy Award winning instrumentalists Joey Alexander and Buster Williams will command the stage with their refined and unique performances. Alexander has been praised as one of the most engaging pianist-composers of his time, while also being the youngest artist to ever be nominated in the Jazz Grammy category.
Williams, a legend in his own right, has played alongside other big names including Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Betty Carter. The “Something More” Quartet, composed of members Steve Wilson (saxophone), Lenny White (drums) and George Colligan (piano/keyboard), will support him.
Grace Kelly has accomplished many milestones in her career despite her young age. She has released more than 10 albums, sold out numerous shows and even appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as part of the house band.
As a community staple, JazzFest White Plains has brought entertainment and culture to Westchester for more than a decade. It was produced by ArtsWestchester in collaboration with the City of White Plains and the White Plains Business Improvement District.
On the heels of an upcoming and ambitious new 4-album studio and film project, I Am The Moon, Tedeschi Trucks Band has just unveiled dates for their highly-anticipated annual return to the Beacon Theatre this fall.
The 12-piece rock and soul collective led by singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks will play seven nights in New York City – September 29 & 30 and October 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8 –as part of their multi-year, dual city residency with MSG Entertainment, which also includes annual shows at The Chicago Theatre.
The 2022 Beacon Theatre shows mark the group’s 11th multi-night Beacon run, and will include their 50th lifetime show at the famed New York theatre on October 3. Tedeschi Trucks Band’s annual tenure in the Big Apple is a destination event, featuring surprise sit-ins, special guests, and set lists that go deep in the band’s catalog, becoming a can’t-miss concert experience.
The Beacon is always a place for us to stretch out and explore musical territory. We have an incredible amount of new material coming out this year with I Am The Moon and the Beacon shows will be some of the first where we’ll be able to draw from all of it and have the space to really dig in.
Derek Trucks
The 2022 residency will feature support from Amy Helm on Thursday, September 29 and Ruthie Foster on Thursday, October 6. Friday and Saturday nights will feature two sets of Tedeschi Trucks Band. This year will also be one of the few opportunities in the U.S. to catch the band live after all four albums of I Am The Moon, are released.
I Am The Moon is a creative milestone for us – and we’ve got our 50th show at The Beacon, another milestone. We’re looking forward to celebrating both and all the hard work that went into getting here – it’s not something that just happens.
Susan Tedeschi
I Am The Moon is the most ambitious studio project of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s storied career – comprised of four albums and four companion films to be released throughout the summer. Inspired by a mythic Persian tale of star-crossed lovers, and emotionally driven by the isolation and disconnection of the pandemic era, the thematic I Am The Moon totals more than two hours of music unfolding across a robust tapestry of genre-defying explorations that propel the treasured American ensemble into new and thrilling creative territory. Watch the project trailer below.
The four albums that comprise I Am The Moon — I. Crescent, II. Ascension, III. The Fall, and IV. Farewell— will be released in successive months beginning with I. Crescent. The corresponding films which combine studio and performance footage with atmospheric photography and imagery will debut three days prior to each audio release offering fans an early opportunity to digest each album in its entirety via the band’s YouTube channel.
The first film debuts Tuesday, May 31 followed by the first album release available digitally and on CD, Friday, June 3.
Tedeschi Trucks Band is Susan Tedeschi (guitar, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitar), Gabe Dixon (keyboards, vocals), Brandon Boone (bass), Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell (drums, percussion) Isaac Eady (drums, percussion) Mike Mattison (vocals, guitar), Mark Rivers (harmony vocals), Alecia Chakour (harmony vocals), Kebbi Williams (saxophone), Ephraim Owens (trumpet) and Elizabeth Lea (trombone).
Tickets for all seven Beacon Theatre shows will be available for purchase by the general public beginning at 11:00AM (ET) on Friday, May 13 via ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre box offices on Saturday, May 14. Prices range from $29.50 to $135.00.

Flushing Town Hall has announced the Summer 2022 run of their popular “Common Ground : Mini-Global Mashups” series. There will be one show per month, starting May 17 and continuing until August 21.
Performers L to R: Cillian Vallely, Samir Langus, Yungchen Lhamo, Martin Vejarano, Joshua Nelson, Vado Diomande
Curated by trumpeter and Composer Frank London, the concert series will feature performances from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Each performance will combine elements of different cultures to create a unique experience.
The summer series will kick off May 15, with a collaboration between Irish piper Cillian Vallely & Gnawa master Samir LanGus. They will be accompanied by Brooklyn native and multi-instrumentalist Matt Mancuso. “Ireland Meets Morocco” brings together three decorated musicians for a night of inspired entertainment.
“Tibet Meets Colombia” will feature Tibetan singer Yungchen Lhamo and Colombian artist Martín Vejarano, accompanied by guitarist Jorge Iván “Tito” Duarte. Lhamo’s calming voice will promote healing and relaxation as Vejarano’s traditional Colombian background provides a well built foundation.
“Gospel Meets Côte d’Ivoire” showcases the musical talent of American gospel singer Joshua Nelson and Ivory Coast traditional dance and drum master Vado Diomande. On July 24, Nelson’s focus on Jewish Gospel will meet Diomande’s vast knowledge of African dance and drumming tradition.
“Ukraine Meets Cuba” will close out the series on August 21, with a performance from Ukrainian bandura (Ukrainian lute/harp) master Julian Kytasty and Cuban artists Danae Blanco and Juan Carlos Formal. Although the individual regions seem very different, they will come together in a smooth appreciation for all walks of life.
More information, as well as tickets, can be found here. The performances will also be live streamed on the Flushing Town Hall’s youtube channel.
