The CannaStock 2022 festival in Woodstock has been announced for Oct. 22 at the Colony Beer Garden from 1-6 p.m.
CannaStock is a 21+ consumer-friendly festival and an immersive cannabis experience with local and national cannabis brands. At the festival, there will be like-minded consumers and large amounts of exhibitors, also educational panels on topics such as how legalization will change our society. People can also learn about jobs within the cannabis industry too.
The festival is also featuring live music acts, including reggae music from Royal Khaoz and Live DJ sets with Max Glazer from Federation Sound. The CannaStock festival will also have free samples, so people can dance and have fun.

On October 14th only at Flushing Town HallQueens, Lew Tabackin and his ensemble present “The Swinging Sounds of Coleman Hawkins.” Saxophonist Lew Tabackin is one of New York City’s most notable jazz musicians, whose importance was acknowledged this summer when he was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Jazz Foundation of America.
Lew Tabackin is one of New York City’s most notable jazz musicians who will be honoring the great Coleman Hawkins live at the historic Flushing Town Hall theater. The performance will be featuring an array of music that Hawkins himself played during his tenure with the Fletcher Henderson Orchestra, recordings with Benny Goodman, Django Reinhardt, and many others.

Tenor saxophonist Coleman Hawkins was the first major saxophonist in jazz history. His inventive style of improvising influenced many leading jazz figures such as Ben Webster, Chu Berry, Sonny Rollins, and John Coltrane. Hawkins was also one of the first saxophonists to bring attention to the saxophone as a solo instrument in 1939 when he played it on the song “Body and Soul.”
Tabackin’s interest in music began in his birthplace, Philadelphia, where he first studied flute and then tenor saxophone in high school. He majored in flute at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music and studied privately with composer Vincent Persichetti. Later in his life, moving to New York.
While in New York, Tabackin shared the stage with numerous other jazz luminaries such as Cab Calloway, Maynard Ferguson, Joe Henderson, Chuck Israels, Clark Terry, and Duke Pearson. He also spent some time in Europe as a soloist with various ensembles, including the Danish Radio Orchestra and the Hamburg Jazz Workshop.

New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre is set to make his debut at Carnegie Hall on Jan. 14, 2023, in a special one-night-only show.
Joey McIntyre’s career spans decades, more notably being a member of the multiplatinum-selling pop super-group New Kids on the Block. Fans can expect him to play some of the group’s well-known songs, as well as hits from his own solo catalog.
It’s been asked for decades: How do you get to Carnegie Hall? My answer is, have the greatest fans in pop history. And be lucky enough to pursue a career in what you love. From the pop world to Broadway and being raised on the great American song book, with hat in hand, I feel I have the repertoire to play such hallowed ground. I look forward to sharing this night with the amazing people that got me there.
Joey McIntyre
He is the youngest member of NKOTB. Since their reunion in 2008, NKOTB has released three top-ten albums on the Billboard 200. On those albums, McIntyre has co-written more than half a dozen songs including “Still Sounds Good” and the anthem “Block Party.” He has also maintained success as a solo artist, starting with his debut album Stay the Same, which was certified gold and also delivered a top ten single.
Joey McIntyre has also had a career in film and television, as well as in theatre. He had his Broadway debut in Wicked, and most recently in Broadway’s Waitress.

The second episode in Season 48 of Saturday Night Live featured host Brendan Gleeson and musical guest Willow.
A game show parody cold open of “So You Think You Won’t Snap” made light of the global stress and anxiety felt by nearly everyone in the past few years, except a few lucky contestants. Bowen Yang stepped into the lead role and has established himself as one of the lead male repertory players, alongside seven year cast member Mikey Day.
Irish actor Gleeson reminded the crowd where they’d seen him – Braveheart and a few Harry Potter films – before grabbing a mandolin to play the first song he ever learned, “Barney McKenna” from the Dubliners, telling stories while tuning. The Banshees of Inisherinco-star Colin Farrell arrived on stage to sing a few bars with Gleeson, who then continued playing into the commercial break with the Saturday Night Live Band.
The first song from Willow was “curious/furious,” performed in front of stacks of Marshall speakers with her band amid purple lighting. Willow closed the song sharing guitar licks with guitarist Liso Lee.

Willow’s second song “ur a stranger” was miles heavier and had a wide range of Willow’s vocal ability, turning the corner into metal territory. To punctuate the Saturday Night Live performance, Willow smashed her guitar into a TV on stage, then kicking the microphone stand over. The hard rock from Willow shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that her mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, had her own rock band, Wicked Wisdom. Both songs are featured on her just released album <COPINGMECHANISM>.

The two songs were not Willow’s first SNL appearance – she joined Camila Cabello in April, linking up for a performance of “Psychofreak.”
Saturday Night Live returns on October 15 with host and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion.
Indie rockers Yo La Tengo will return to the stage of Bowery Ballroom for an eight-night run during Hanukkah, starting December 18.
The band noted on Instagram, “Yup, we’re going to be back at the Bowery Ballroom this year to play all eight nights of Hanukkah.” They’ll aim to not repeat a single song over the eight nights, as well as have an unannounced opening band and comedian joining them for each night’s show. Additionally, the run of shows benefit a charity of Yo La Tengo’s choosing.
The series of shows began in 2001 in their hometown of Hoboken, NJ at Maxwell’s, then took a break when the venue closed in 2012. The tradition was renewed in 2017 at Bowery Ballroom and has continued each year since, with the 2020 event liverstreamed due to the Covid pandemic.
Brooklyn Steel will welcome Swedish punk rockers Viagra Boys, all the way from Stockholm, for their only New York show on Tuesday, October 18. Viagra Boys are touring in support of their third studio album, Cave World, released by Year0001 in July. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic and recorded last winter at Silence Studio and RMV Studio, the album is produced by Pelle Gunnerfeldt and DJ Haydn.

Viagra Boys, a name chosen as a pun to mans’ failed role in society, have already gained a reputation as being an unapologetically raw live act. They are led by frontman Sebastian Murphy, whose wild and energetic stage persona has led to comparisons with iconic performers Iggy Pop and Nick Cave. The sextet is rounded out by Henrik Höckert (bass), Tor Sjödén (drums), Oskar Carls (saxophone), Elias Jungqvist (keyboards) and Linus Hillborg (guitar).

Joining Viagra Boys on the bill as a co-headliner are Shame, a post-punk band from South London, England. Formed in 2014, Shame are the quintet of Charlie Steen (vocals), Sean Coyle-Smith (guitar), Eddie Green (guitar), Charlie Forbes (drums) and Josh Finerty (bass). Their debut album (Songs of Praise) was released in 2018, followed by Drunk Tank Pink in 2021 – both to critical acclaim via Dead Oceans, an independent record label based in Bloomington, Indiana.

On November 8, award-winning composer Blake Allen will premiere his original work “INSOMNIA” at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
The two part performance covers stories about two characters a century apart, focusing on the insomniac struggles of 20th century writer F. Scott Fitzgerald and Allen’s own character, the “30-something” woman Jeanna.

It will feature musical accompaniment from the Argus Quartet, a string collective consisting of Clara Kim, Giancarlo Latta, Maren Rothfritz and Mariel Roberts, in addition to piano work by Chris Koelzer.
The first piece “Sleeping and Waking” is an adaption of the 1934 Fitzgerald short story of the same name, and features opera soprano Cree Carrico as vocalist.
The second piece, “Of Which, Tomorrow” features broadway performer Jeanna De Waal as vocalist in an original composition inspired by Allen’s anxiety and insomnia, based around a stream-of-consciousness text brought together during his 4 a.m. restlessness.
Blake Allen has put together a decorated career, having performed on Broadway in “Tootsie” and Stephen King’s “Misery,” and in renowned concert venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He currently serves as musical director and collaborator for RuPaul’s Drag Race star Tina Burner.

Dead & Company are hitting the (golden) road once more with a final tour scheduled for Summer 2023. The dates have just been released and tickets are now on sale at the band’s website. The tour begins on Friday, May 19 in Los Angeles for what is being billed as the band’s last official tour since forming in 2015.

Bono has announced an international book tour in promotion of his memoir “SURRENDER: 40 Songs, One Story.” With the book releasing on November 1, the tour will open up the following day with a stop at Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre.
Ticket sales will begin this Friday. Each ticket purchased will come will a copy of the book, and there will be a two-ticket limit per person.

“SURRENDER: 40 Songs, One Story” will cover the U2 frontman’s “remarkable life,” “the challenges he’s faced, and the friends and family who have shaped and sustained him.” The memoir’s subtitle references the book’s 40 chapters, each named after songs from the band. The memoir also includes 40 original drawings from Bono across the book.
Bono, born Paul David Hewson in Dublin, formed U2 with classmates David Howell “The Edge” Evans, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton in 1976. Together they’ve released 14 studio albums, the most recent being 2017’s Songs of Experience. The group’s numerous accolades include 22 Grammy’s and a 2005 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Powerwolf, the most successful German heavy metal band are headed west for their first North American shows in February 2023. Two once in a lifetime shows at The Palladium in Times Square and M Teles in Montreal will give North American fans a chance to see the ‘Wolf and their internationally renowned breathtaking world-class stage shows.
The band said in a statement, “North America, your calls over the years have not gone unheard! The holy heavy metal mass will finally be celebrated next year for the very first time in New York City and Montreal! Let’s make sure that it will be an experience that neither you, nor we as Powerwolf will ever forget!”
Powerwolf – Attila Dorn (vocals), Falk Maria Schlegel (organ), Charles Greywolf (guitar), Matthew Greywolf (guitar) and Roel van Helden (drums) – began in 2004, the result of the efforts of one of the most hard-working and entertaining live band on the heavy metal planet. Powerwolf have secured a collection of gold and platinum awards, starting in 2015, when they reached Gold status for the first time in the Czech Republic with their album, Blessed & Possessed.
