  • Binghamton Hosts Enticing Musical Events To Wrap Up Summer 2021

    Binghamton is bringing the heat this summer with several live concerts and other events planned. This summer’s lineup includes Wheelhouse, Wreckless Marci, and much more!

    The city of Binghamton is jam-packed with fun musical events this summer, most importantly their Broome Bands Together concert series that began in July. Upcoming concerts include Wheelhouse on August 10, and Wreckless Marci on August 17. The events will be held at Otsiningo Park in the Town of Dickenson from 6pm – 8pm and all those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

    In addition to the Broome Bands Together series, Binghamton will host the Harper Stantz Rec Park Music Fest on Sunday, August 8. The festival features local and regional musical acts and is a great event for music lovers of all ages. The event takes place in the historic recreation park in Binghamton and offers many fun activities besides music, making it a fabulous way for families to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. This year’s performances will be mostly bluegrass and Americana, with some reggae mixed in as well.

    The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra also has some exciting performances coming up. On August 14, Trio Pastoral will be performing as a part of the Summer Chamber Music series. On August 21, BPO’s Summer Chamber Music series will conclude with a lively performance featuring Unanimous Four, a greatly admired mixed ensemble.

    The action continues in Binghamton with Porch Fest, one of the community’s most highly anticipated events, on August 29. Porch Fest is a collaborative celebration of cultures, combined with nonstop dancing and live music.

  • Live Music Makes a Return In Northville with Summer Concert Series

    Located in Fulton County. Northville welcomes the return of acoustic music with their Summer Concert Series on Fridays and Saturdays from 7-9pm. The downtown district is a great place to enjoy unique shops, good food, and live music.

    The town of Northville offers many exiting events, ranging from Ski centers to waterfront parks. The small village located in the town of Northampton offers residents a peaceful rural area, along the shores of the Great Sacandaga Lake. Also along the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, Northville is filled with sights to see.

    After the first settlement in the 1780s, the village of Northville was the home to a successful lumbar industry, which led to a, “Strong economy and rich cultural life.” Being so close to the “Great” Lake and along the entrance to the Southern Adirondack Mountains, Northville became a destination for tourists and travelers alike. The inclusion of cultural arts programs, Camping grounds and a ski resort makes the village of Northville so special, while keeping its history of being a small historic village.

    The town’s population continues to grow, and The Northville Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The return of live music located on Main Street, and Center Street makes the Summer Concert Series a destination spot for music lovers and travelers.

  • Brooklyn’s ‘Get Back!: The Dock Street Concerts’ Announces Lineup

    Located just a stone’s throw from the Brooklyn Bridge, the Get Back!: The Dock Street Concerts continues at St. Ann’s Warehouse in DUMBO. The series invites New Yorkers to listen and dance to free live music and poetry by genre-spanning artists in the waterfront Brooklyn Bridge Park.

    Get Back! The Dock Street Concerts kicked off earlier this month and brings an exciting and diverse lineup to round out July and August.

    Thursday, July 29 (7PM) (Postponed due to inclement weather): Brooklyn poet multi-hyphenate writer and artist Cyrus Aaron—whose poetry is featured in Khadijat Oseni and Julian Alexander’s acclaimed public art project Supremacy Projectcurrently installed on the exterior walls of St. Ann’s Warehouse—brings the BLK HRS collective of musicians he leads back to St. Ann’s Warehouse by popular demand.

    Thursday, August 5 (7PM): Siblings Marcus Machado and Vicky Casis, aka Mach-7 Muzik, blend hip hop with rock, funk, and soul. They lead a jam session called The Cypher that convenes musicians, singers, rappers, poets, and other creatives.

    Thursday, August 12 (7PM): NAACP Image Award-nominated poet and Urban Word NYC Artistic Director Mahogany L. Browne, who is also featured in Supremacy Project and was recently named Lincoln Center’s first-ever Poet in Residence at Lincoln Centerreturns to St. Ann’s with her show Mahogany L. Browne’s Rhythm Section, including Jive Poetic on turntables and special guests: singer JP Reynolds, singer/poet Adam Falkner, and poet L Ash.

    Thursday, August 19 (7PM): The celebrated South Africa-born, New York-based, vocalist, performer, and composer Vuyo Sotashe recently wowed St. Ann’s Warehouse audiences in The Bengsons’ The Broken Ear Setlist: Songs from Ohio. He now headlines a show with his quintet.

    Tuesday, August 24 (7PM)Sunny Jain performs music from his “Wild Wild East” project, which recasts the immigrant as the modern-day cowboy and cowgirl. Jain sources inspiration from the scores of Bollywood classics and Spaghetti Westerns, Indian folk traditions, jazz improvisation, and rollicking psychedelic and surf guitar styles.

    Thursday, August 26 (7PM): the duo SaaWee is made up of the Latin Grammy-winning New York-based violinist Sita Chay and the provocative London-based percussionist Jihye Kim. They collaborate with Brooklyn singer-songwriter J. Hoard in this performance honoring Elijah McClain and other victims of police violence and hate crimes.

    Get Back!: The Dock Street Concerts are supported by Con Edison as part of the #ArtsAlFrescoNY series, which presents free and safe outdoor arts experiences across the five boroughs, and Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties. St. Ann’s Warehouse first presented Get Back! last year as New Yorkers sheltered in place. Inspired by the Beatles’ iconic 1969 rock event, artists perform on St. Ann’s roof balcony.

    St. Ann’s is an iconic space for artists to foster their craft. Signature flexible, open space allows artists to stretch, both literally and imaginatively, enabling them to approach work with unfettered creativity, knowing that the theater can be adapted in multiple configurations to suit their needs.

  • Geddes Hosts Three Upcoming Live Concerts For Its 2021 Summer Concerts in the Park Series

    Three bands are set to perform in local parks around the town of Geddes in Onondaga County over the next few weeks as the town continues with its 2021 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

    Join the parks of Geddes as the community comes together to celebrate live summer music continuing through early August. Bring out those lawn chairs, blankets, evening snacks, and good spirits to enjoy the musical festivities every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm until August 12. So far, three bands have debuted during this series, including the Mario DeSantis Orchestra, The Cobblerockers, and the Flyin’ Column.

    Both The Lisa Lee Band and The Horn Dogs will be performing live evening shows at Lakeland Park, Lakeland on July 29 and August 5, respectively. For the final concert of the series, Little Queen will close out with a performance from Woods Road Park, Solvay on Thursday, August 12.

  • Village of Athens Shares Summer Concert Series

    The small Catskills village of Athens is sharing a late summer concert series. The series, put on through the Athens Performing Arts Corporation (APAC) begins July 30 and runs every Friday until September 3.

    The concerts will take place in Athens Riverfront Park from 7-9 PM. Admission is free and performances are rain or shine. The lineup boasts diverse acts and genres, from Led Zeppelin cover acts to blues, soul and Americana.

    Located in Greene County, the village of Athens, located within the larger town of Athens, is home to just under 2,000 residents. The village has multiple sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places and sits scenically on the west bank of the Hudson River. Athens has an eclectic and artistic feel with residents passionate about sharing music and art.

  • Waterhole Presents Party on the Patio in Saranac Lake

    This summer, Waterhole Music Lounge in Saranac Lake brings back their annual summer series, Party on the Patio, which includes free live music every Thursday night. The shows will be outside the venue on the patio, just in time to watch the beautiful sunset across Saranac Lake.

    The Waterhole is located on Main Street in Saranac Lake and serves as a spot for locals and tourists to gather together and enjoy all types of music. It is a multi-tiered outdoor patio space that is a staple for residents of the area, allowing people to share great memories with great company. Party on the Patio is one of Waterhole’s most beloved events that runs from May to October.

    This year, Party on the Patio has an incredibly exciting lineup. Bands such as Organ Fairchild, Chestnut Grove, and Los Elk will perform wonderful sets that you don’t want to miss! Shows run every Thursday until October 14th, and every performance will go from 6pm until 10pm.

  • Upbeat on the Roof Returns for its 20th Season at the Tang

    Upbeat on the Roof is a summer concert series held on the Tang Teaching Museum lawn in Saratoga Springs. The concerts have been a hit for fans of all ages for years, and the museum is excited to celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary this summer.

    The concert series will run from July 29th until August 19th. Diverse musicians play each year, and this year’s lineup includes: Laveda, Thomasina Winslow, Sun is Poison, and Heavenly Echoes. Concerts will be performed outside of the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College on the gorgeous lawn that is open to the public. Each Thursday, the concerts will begin at 6pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, food, and drinks, and most importantly, a vibrant attitude.

    All events hosted by the Tang Teaching Museum are free and open to all visitors. If you find yourself near Saratoga Springs this summer, you will not want to miss the tranquility brought to you by Upbeat on the Roof, showcasing beautiful live music.

  • Town of Homer Summer Concert Series Continues through mid-August

    The quaint town of Homer, located just thirty minutes outside of Syracuse, has four exciting shows left in their 2021 summer concert series, “Homer on the Green”.

    The concerts take place Wednesdays on the Village Green (28 S Main St) from 7-8pm. In the event of rain, performances are moved indoors to the Center for the Arts (just down the road at 72 S Main St).

    The series kicked off in June right at the official start of summer with a set by Gary Carpentier. Carpentier, an Oswego native, appeared on The Voice as a member of Adam Levine’s team. The remaining roster of performers are sure to be entertaining. Next up is Travis Rocco, a laid back guitarist with a John Mayer-like style. The music video for his original song “Wonder Why” is below.

    If you find yourself in the area, admission is free. These shows are a great chance to relax midweek and enjoy some casual live music.

  • Brand Park in Elmira Hosts 2021 Summer Concert Series

    Nine musical performing artists and bands will be playing live in Elmira, New York at the Brand Park 2021 Summer Concert Series.

    Come and join the Brand Park Beautification Committee in Brand Park from 3 to 5 PM every Sunday through the end of August. Don’t forget your lawn chair and enjoy the live music (the concert will be handicap accessible). The Dean Goble Band and Classic Too have already made their debut for the series earlier this month. However, seven more groups are set to perform: Loren V. & The Heart Beats, Blue Eyed Soul, Detour, Aunt Millie’s Biscuits, White River Band, Sgro Brothers, and Doc Cavallaro and the Doc Possum Band.   • City Winery Hudson Valley announces Concerts in the Vineyard Series

    City Winery Hudson Valley in Montgomery, NY, has announced their Concerts in the Vineyard Series, starting on June 6.

    After live music shows were put on pause because of the pandemic and since the summer is quickly approaching, City Winery is excited for the series. It will take place outdoors, on the lawn of the Hudson Valley location, 20 minutes west of Newburgh.

    The series begins on Sunday, June 6 and continues every weekend until Saturday, September 11. The first concert of this series comes from Damn the Torpedoes: A Live Tom Petty Concert Experience. More performers from the series Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, 10,000 Maniacs, Joan Osborne, Amy Helm and more. 

    With COVID-19 still being around, City Winery Hudson Valley will be following protocols such as social distancing and mask-wearing. For people to attend the concerts, they must either be fully vaccinated– meaning the day of your event is 14 days after receiving the total amount of doses– or produce a negative PCR test. Pods are available for general admission and VIP packages. Tickets are now on sale and more information is available on their website.
