  • The Soul Rebels Release Two New Singles Ahead of Epic Vibes Spring Tour Making 6 Stops Across New York State

The sound of New Orleans will make its way across New York State in Spring 2022 as The Soul Rebels embark on “Epic Vibes Tour” with stops in Buffalo, Waterloo, Albany, Brooklyn and Westhampton Beach.

The Soul Rebels recently announced they will be taking part in fellow New Orleanian Trombone Shorty on his Summer 2022 Threauxdown Tour. Their Epic Vibes Tour runs from December 2021 through April 2023, with shows on the West Coast, the Northeast, a monthly residency in Memphis and a healthy amount of shows in New Orleans.

The brass band continue to ride high off the release of their latest album Poetry In Motion. The eight-member collective appeared on Def Jam artist Dave East and Nas’ “Godfather 4” single, Big Freedia and Icona Pop’s “Pipe That”, and reached fans with original singles “Greatness” which was featured as ESPN’s official College Hoops theme anthem, and “Good Time” featured on Netflix’s #BlackAF and Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!

The Soul Rebels have impressed viewers with two recent appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk series with Wu Tang Clan frontman GZA, headlined the global TED Conference, and appeared on the official soundtrack for Universal Pictures’ hit comedy Girls Trip.

  • The Jauntee Head East for shows in Albany and Buffalo

The Jauntee have announced a Fall Tour that brings the Colorado band back to the East Coast for the first time since 2019. They’ll make a stop in Albany on Thursday, November 18 and close the tour out in Buffalo on Sunday, November 21.

The band was poised to take the live scene by storm in 2020, with numerous support runs at some of the country’s most renowned venues along with a number of summer festival appearances. Then, complications arose from the virus which led the band to hunker down and provide their fans with a long series of full set live-streams with zero repeats they coined at “JaunTV.” Picking up where they left off, this tour will likely see many new fans introduced to the magic of their new-age improvisation.

    the jauntee

This summer, the band was able to venture to Texas and the Midwest for appearances around Summer Camp Music Festival. This Fall tour will find The Jauntee heading back to the Southeast with shows at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta and Charleston Pour House. They’ll venture into the DC and New Jersey region before heading up to their home turf in the Northeast, playing Albany, Boston, Burlington and Buffalo. The band heads back to Colorado where they will play the anniversary party for Beyond The Mountain Brewing in Boulder in December.

The Jauntee was recently added to the Nugs.net catalog, featuring 1000s of live performance recordings from dozens of bands. All shows from this Fall Tour will be posted on Nugs shortly after each show here.

  • In Focus: Jake Miller, Fly By Midnight and Just Seconds Apart at Buffalo Iron Works

On October 8th, Jake Miller, Fly By Midnight and Just Seconds Apart packed a crowd at Buffalo Iron Works for the “hi, i missed you tour.”

    jake miller fly by midnight

Just Seconds Apart, a trio of triplets from Arizona, opened the show with an incredible performance. Followed by the duo Fly By Midnight, who brought the energy and kept it going through their entire set. Lastly was Jake Miller and the crowd was absolutely nuts over him.

Before he stepped on stage, I talked to a few people who were in the crowd because I had never really listened to his music before. I stood next to a young woman who told me this was her tenth time seeing him. She told me that his music saved her life. This felt fitting as soon as Jake came out singing his song “Saved Me.” This made me a little teary-eyed.

This wasn’t Miller’s first performance in Buffalo as he performed at the Kissmas Bash at the Key Bank Arena “I remember that performance,” Jake said “It was my first real time singing in an arena and I was nervous that not a lot of people would know my music. Then I stopped singing and the whole arena kept it going. It’s a memory that I will never forget.”

Jake Miller, Fly By Midnight and Just Seconds Apart provided a fun, high energy concert. The talent of each performer made it hard for you not to become a fan of each group, if you weren’t already.

  • Music Venues Spring Back to Life Across New York State

Continuing NYS Music’s look at the venues of New York State, we are now more than a year since music venues were forced to shut down, and signs of life are visible everywhere this spring.

While venues await relief from the Small Business Administration (SBA), who administer Shuttered Venue Operators Grant to eligible entities, there are some venues that have returned to live music. Restrictions are lifting, allowing for greater capacity at venues, as well as Drive-In shows and socially distanced concerts continuing well into August.

    Venues New York State

Once New York State has 70% of the population receiving one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, most remaining restrictions will be lifted, based on a statement from Gov. Cuomo last week.

Our March installment of ‘This Darkness Has Got to Give’ showed venues across New York State that started to come back to life with socially distanced shows. Now in June, we have crowds returning to venues, a summer of live music ahead in various arrays and a brighter 2021 in the making.

  • Spafford to make a Fall Tour stop in Buffalo

Arizona jam band Spafford will make their way through New York on their Fall Tour, with a stop on October 28 at Buffalo Iron Works. After COVID-19 derailed live music in 2020, Spafford presents a renewed appreciation for life and live music, with a fall like never before.

    spafford fall tour buffalo

After a deadly pandemic revived our collective gratitude for music and togetherness, Spafford is incredibly grateful for the patience and constant support of their dedicated listeners and couldn’t be more ready to bring new energy to each and every performance.

We’ve been very busy this last year and have taken the time to redefine ourselves, our music, and our message. We are excited to share the future of Spafford with you and can’t wait to see your beautiful faces at a show.

    Spafford guitarist Brian Moss

The group’s 22-show Fall 2021 tour begins on October 1 at Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, before moving throughout the Midwest, Southeast and up the East Coast. The tour features three shows around North Carolina, a two-night run in Milwaukee, WI, culminating in Chicago, IL on November 6th at Park West.

Spafford has solidified themselves among the most creative and hard-traveled bands on the contemporary jam scene. Pairing complex compositions with extended improvisations, the rousing energy of the Southwest-based quartet — Brian Moss (guitar, vocals), Jordan Fairless (bass, vocals), Andrew “Red” Johnson (keys, vocals), and Nick Tkachyk (drums, vocals) — is matched by their outstanding talent, versatility of playing styles, and extensive catalogue of original music and innovative covers. Each Spafford show is a sensory expedition of extended jams — an interplay of lights, tones, cascading melodies, and balance that carries a ceaselessly-dancing crowd through the night.

General on sale for all Spafford Fall Tour dates, including Buffalo, starts Friday, May 21st at 10:00 am local time. Artist presale tickets via Seated will be available beginning on Wednesday, May 19 at 10:00 am local time through Thursday, May 20 at 10:00 pm local time, using code “ALLIN.” To purchase tickets or for more information on specific dates, head to spafford.net/Tour.
