The Wood Brothers have announced their first shows in 2022. The Grammy Award-nominated, Nashville-based trio will head out on 19-date tour that begins January 25 at The Kodak Center in Rochester. They’ll also make stops in Albany, Plattsburgh and NYC before heading out west.
The first leg of dates—featuring support from singer/songwriter Steve Poltz—extends into February and stretches across the Northeast. Highlights include performances at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, The Fillmore in Philadelphia, House of Blues in Boston and a return to Webster Hall in New York City to close out the run. After a brief pause, the second leg picks up on February 22 at The Rialto Theatre in Tucson and proceeds to blanket the Mountain states into March, including appearances at The Mission Ballroom in Denver, Center For The Arts in Jackson and Knitting Factory in Boise before concluding with two nights in Montana. Rounder Records’ recording artist Katie Pruitt performs an opening set each evening.
The Wood Brothers most recent album, Kingdom In My Mind, was released in January 2020. The pandemic forced the band to cut short touring plans in support of the collection thus many of the upcoming dates represent the first time fans will have an opportunity to witness the band performing material from the recording. While on hiatus in 2020, The Wood Brothers remained active, reissuing their landmark 2013 album The Muse on 2-LP vinyl and playing a series of livestreams. Additionally, Oliver Wood would record his first solo album, Always Smilin’. Released in May 2021 on The Wood Brothers’ imprint Honey Jar Records, the 12-track collection was warmly received by critics and fans alike.
Tickets for the upcoming tour go on-sale on Friday, October 29 at 10am local. All shows will be available for purchase at thewoodbros.com

Long revered by fans for their bombastic live performances, the band’s previous outing, “One Last Tour,” sold over 1 million tickets. The 2022 jaunt will follow the trio’s just announced performance at Coachella 2022 and includes arenas across the United States and Europe.
Swedish House Mafia have also teamed with The Weeknd for a new single and video, “Moth to a Flame.” The new song was initially teased during the trio’s landmark performance at the MTV VMAs pre-show this summer, and marks the band’s first new music since announcing their reunion this past July with a pair of new singles “It Gets Better” and “Lifetime (feat. Ty Dolla $ign & 070 Shake)” that arrived alongside a cover story for Billboard Magazine and a special performance of both songs on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
The trio of songs continue to build anticipation toward the band’s forthcoming full length Paradise Again, slated for release early next year with a Special Tour Edition CD pre-order available now that unlocks exclusive pre-sale tour tickets.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, October 29th at swedishhousemafia.com, with the Special Tour Edition CD pre-order pre-sale beginning on Wednesday, October 27.

Nada Surf on Friday, October 22nd released their new EP Cycle Through via Barsuk Records. The EP is a companion piece to their 2020 album Never Not Together, which is now available as a digital release after its initial vinyl run exclusively for Record Store Day. Cycle Through features three songs left off Never Not Together, as well as an orchestral/choir version of “Looking For You,” the extended short-film version of “Just Wait,” and Spanish, French and acoustic takes on “So Much Love.”
Nada Surf follows the release of Cycle Through with a run of headline North American tour dates throughout the month of November, with support from Pom Pom Squad, arriving at long last after their initial postponement in the spring of 2020.
Founded in 1992, Nada Surf — Matthew Caws, Daniel Lorca, Ira Elliot, and their longtime friend and collaborator, Louie Lino — has only grown more creative and resourceful as time has marched on, each consecutive release notable for the quality of its craft as well as Caws’ ongoing growth as both songwriter and human being.
The band’s latest LP, Never Not Together, was met with praise from all corners — The Current called it “one of the best albums of their career,” noting that it “shows off their prowess as experts of their craft while sharing their playful side. Never Not Together has all the hallmarks of the genre Nada Surf helped define but with a refined touch that comes from life experience and humility.”

Countless new strides have been made by The Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO), as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic filled now triumphant with an in-person 2021-2022 concert season. For these musicians living in Upstate New York and Western New England, they now call the historic Troy Savings Bank Music Hall home, marking yet another milestone. With a new first-ever Director of Education in the hands of Dr. David Bebe, he pledges to take the emerging and developing musicians to new heights.
Dr. David Bebe is a gifted cellist, conductor, and experienced pedagogue who will guide ESYO’s ventures to enrich the musical experiences of ESYO musicians. Rich with experience, Dr. Bebe was a frequent guest sectional coach with ESYO’s flagship performing ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and was an Associate Professor of Music at the College of St. Rose. Dr. Bebe has now become a crucial component developing string curriculum and performance courses with being a critical resource for ESYO’s artistic staff and CHIME Teaching Artists.
I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and the conductors at ESYO to identify and provide the tools ESYO musicians need to be successful in their ensembles, especially after COVID-19 interrupted music programs across the country. I’ve had the opportunity to work with emergin gand developing musicians throughout my entire career. ESYO nurtures and supports amazingly talented and passionate musicians.
Dr. David Bebe
The Empire State Youth Orchestra agenda is looking a little different than before with the newest edition of a year-round chamber music program launched by Dr. Bebe this fall. Throughout the season he will also be developing events and programs while discovering opportunities to bridge various levels, programs, and ensembles, fully committing himself to supporting ESYO.
With support from Dr. Bebe and a team of experienced coaches, ESYO musicians will experience music in a smaller, more musician directed ensemble. As with all ESYO-sponsored ensembles and programs, the ESYO Chamber Music program will culminate with a performance in early December.
The season will be opening on Friday, November 5 from ESYO’s Symphony Orchestra, led by guest conductor Andrés Rivas from the Orchestra Now at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. The season’s program also holds features from Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, Bizet’s L’Artesienne Suites No. 1 & No. 2, Jennifer Higdon’s Light, Danzon No. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Marquez and Jazz standards by Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. On November 20, the Youth Jazz Orchestra will be joined in concert by Grammy-nominated Trumpet player Michael Rodriguez.
A complete list of ESYO Fall performances is available online at ESYO.org/tickets. Tickets can be purchased online for as little as $1 with ACCESS ESYO’s unique “pay what you can” ticket program.

Henry Rollins has lived many lives to say the least. His “Good To See You” 2022 Tour will recount the events of his life in the brief pre-COVID-19 period since the last tour as well as the reality of living through a pandemic. It’s been an interesting time to say the least and he’s got some great stories to tell.
Lived many lives is completely an understatement. You may have seen his face in perhaps his own show, The Henry Rollins show which aired in 2006-2007. Or maybe his featuring on shows like Portlandia, Dreamland, or Sons of Anarchy. Or maybe you’ve heard him on TV shows like American Dad, Legend of Korra, or Adventure. Or maybe you heard his music from Black Flag or Rollins Band. It’s also possible you’ve read one of his many books that won a GRAMMY or heard his spoken word. Whatever the case may be, Henry is a well versed man.
Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. DJ. Is there anything this guy can’t do?
Entertainment Weekly
Rollins likes to keep his schedule packed. Perhaps this is how his autobiography won a GRAMMY because he’s just all around an interesting guy. On top of a relentless schedule full of work, with gigs as an actor, author, DJ, voice-over artist and TV show host he likes to travel too. After touring the globe with Rollins Band and Black Flag, he’s traveled alone to places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran.

Orebolo, an acoustic trio featuring Goose members Rich Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar) Peter Anspach (vocals, guitar), Jeff Arevalo (upright bass) have announced a series of six winter tour dates.
In December, the trio will make stops in Upstate New York at Tarrytown Music Hall, and Homer Center for the Arts, as well as Spruce Peak Performing Arts in Stowe, followed by a three shows in Colorado in late January.
The group has built a faithful following nationwide, following a series of virtual festival appearances in 2020, and an acclaimed performance at Lockn’ Presents FRED The Festival in August 2021. Formed during the height of the initial COVID-19 surge, the members of Orebolo shared a home and found comfort in learning new covers and creatively exploring Goose’s deep catalog acoustically.
Starting this project was a source of relief for all of us, especially during such a crazy time. Our initial practice and recording space was inside our solarium – the vibe was really tranquil, and we wanted our listeners to share in that feeling. I’m stoked we have the opportunity to take this out on the road and perform in some incredible rooms.
Peter Anspach
Pre-sale tickets will be available Wednesday, October 13 at 10AM venue local time using the code ‘OREBOLO’. The general on-sale will follow on Friday, October 15 at 10AM venue local time. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit orebolo.com.

The tour will include lots of supporting acts including big names like The Strokes, HAIM, A$AP Rocky, and St. Vincent.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have been teasing a new album in the works earlier this year with John Frusciante back on guitar. There hasn’t been any more news on this album but with a world tour announcement there is hope it will drop before the start of a tour.

Read past interviews with Mike Gordon from 2013 and 2016.
The pair also today premiered a 4-song mini set, including performances of the Kottke song “Sheets” and “How Many People Are You,” which has found a spot in the rotation both with Phish and Mike Gordon Band. Both tracks are found on Noon, with Phish drummer Jon Fishman appearing on “How Many People Are You.” The set is rounded out with the Kottke classic “Rings,” and “Disco” from the duo’s 2002 release, Clone.
