In response, test and trace teams were dispatched to the Sunset Park area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regardless of the positive cases, rave organizers continued to hold two parties in the same area on Aug. 8. Being illegal, the Sheriff&#8217;s Office broke the two raves up the early morning after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One rave took place on 47th street in a warehouse with 200 people. There was alcohol, even though the event didn&#8217;t have a liquor license. Police arrested and charged multiple people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">8\/16\/2020: Deputy Sheriffs investigate illegal rave @ 266 47th Street, Brooklyn: over 180 gathered inside. Alcohol stock was seized. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oRraL0iWxl\">pic.twitter.com\/oRraL0iWxl<\/a><\/p>&mdash; NYC SHERIFF (@NYCSHERIFF) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCSHERIFF\/status\/1295016586257080325?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 16, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement made to reporters the following Monday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said no one should be putting others&#8217; lives at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I want to be abundantly clear: you cannot organize a large gathering that&#8217;s going to put people&#8217;s lives in danger or you will suffer the consequences,&#8221; said de Blasio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other rave happened only a few blocks away and also had alcohol without a liquor license. Alcohol stock was seized. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lWehv5Gttw\">pic.twitter.com\/lWehv5Gttw<\/a><\/p>&mdash; NYC SHERIFF (@NYCSHERIFF) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCSHERIFF\/status\/1295017589618413582?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 16, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to sources, the events had different organizers, but they coordinated the timing together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nocturnal Radio Live hosted the 47th Street rave, but it wasn&#8217;t their first. On July 4, multiple raves throughout the city popped up, including one thrown by them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the events were highly illegal, the group had no problem promoting them on their social media pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.prod.nypr.digital\/images\/310231\/fill-634x437\/\" alt=\"Rave Organizers\" width=\"468\" height=\"322\"\/><figcaption>Nocturnal Radio Live posted this on their Instagram page, but took it down along with their whole page.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a <a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/site\/2020\/07\/30\/video-footage-of-chainsmokers-concert-leads-to-nysdoh-investigation\/\">Chainsmokers<\/a> concert in July to a secret rave under <a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/site\/2020\/08\/05\/rave-party-at-kosciuszko-bridge-leads-to-national-distress\/\">Kosciuszco Bridge <\/a>a few weeks ago, rave organizers don&#8217;t seem to want to back down from hosting these events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ulitsky and Simms, the head of Nocturnal Radio, said they provided &#8220;unity.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Everything we\u2019ve done and plan to do in the future is out of unity, not about separation and depression,&#8221; said Simms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ulitsky added, &#8220;As far as people attending, we\u2019re getting a lot of positive feedback.
