To usher in the new era, musician Jake Bellissimo has collaborated with legendary composer Gerald Busby on a new song, \u201cThe Budding of The Rose.\u201d The song is from Bellissimo\u2019s new album <em>The Motion That We Make<\/em>, which is set to release later this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Gerald_Busby-b_w-768x509.png\" alt=\" Jake Bellissimo Gerald Busby\" class=\"wp-image-331786\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Formerly of <a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/site\/2021\/10\/08\/acid-dad-gives-psychedelic-performance-a-new-meaning-at-bug-jar-rochester\/\">Rochester<\/a>, NY, Bellissimo has been living in Berlin, Germany. The song is a cross-Atlantic effort with Bellissimo providing lyrics, and Busby setting them to melody and composing music for viola from his home at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. The resulting song is sublime. The ardent love song traipses through a sonic garden of delight. It\u2019s contemporary, yet timeless and classic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-soundcloud wp-block-embed-soundcloud\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Budding Of A Rose by Jake Bellissimo\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F722115847&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxheight=750&#038;maxwidth=500&#038;secret_token=s-s8vOL\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Busby has resided at the Chelsea since 1977, when his mentor Virgil Thompson procured him a room. A child prodigy, he was playing with the symphony by the age of 15. He started composing later in life, and debuted professionally when he wrote the score of<em> Runes <\/em>for choreographer Paul Taylor&#8217;s dance company. He\u2019s best known for writing the music for Robert Altman\u2019s acclaimed movie <em>3 Women.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bellissimo, in addition to being a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, runs the label Drunk With Love Records. <em>The Motion That We Make<\/em> is a contemplation on motion, mortality, and coincidences. It is a reflection on the places they\u2019ve been and the people they\u2019ve loved, and those they\u2019ve lost.
