Phil Lesh, Billy Strings, Marco Benevento and More Headlining “Democracy Comes Alive”

Live for Live Music in partnership with HeadCount have announced a one-day virtual music festival to promote voter participation. Dubbed “Democracy Comes Alive” the special event will use the influence of music to showcase how critical voter participation is. Featuring 50 artists and 10 speakers in one day, music fans are being encouraged to “get out the vote”.

“Democracy Comes Alive” will take place on Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 PM ET and is hosted by Ari Fink of SiriusXM. To receive a link to the show, attendees are required to check the status of their voter registration or make a donation to HeadCount.

With a star studded list of performers including members of The Grateful Dead, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Turkuaz, Trampled by Turtles, Bruce Hornsby, Dawes, Warren Haynes, Shawn Colvin and many more music fans are in for a treat while educating themselves on the importance of voting. Each artist in the lineup will also be performing all new pieces.

“People have fought and died, and are still fighting, for the universal right to vote in this country. However, so many of our country’s eligible citizens still do not wield this awesome power bestowed upon them, which in turn leads to presidents and representatives enacting laws that aren’t in their best interest. “Democracy Comes Alive” will feature several guest speakers whose focus will stay on the history of voting rights and examine what it took for everyone. Bonnaroo Announces Virtual ROO-ALITY Livestream Event Sept. 24-26
Bonnaroo releases details of Virtual ROO-ALITY, a three-night live broadcast, set for Sept.24-26 at 4:30 CT exclusively at the official Bonnaroo YouTube channel. The free virtual livestream will continue the celebration of the annual festival with a range of programming, new live performances, unique original content, and archival sets at Bonnaroo’s home at Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee.

The lineup of headliners for Virtual ROO-ALITY includes a diverse range of musical genres. A total of 13 performances including Dave Matthews and Friends, Metallica, The White Stripes, James Brown, My Morning Jacket, and more will headline Virtual ROO-AILITY. Beastie Boys’ historic final concert is one highlight of the archive livestream performances. A diverse range of performances from over 35 artists will perform, including:

In addition to music, Virtual ROO-ALITY will present viewers with an array of original programming, additional activities, and exclusive experiences throughout the three days. Sanctuary of Love, an event curated by Hayley Williams, will present engaging conversations about topics including digital space and mental health, diversity wellness, and the origins of gender. The panelists for these discussions include Charli XCX, Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, Laura Jane Grace, and more. Viewers can also look forward to other virtual events including the Dog Dance Party, Bonnaroo Campfire Tales, and Cheers to Live.

Bonnaroo From Home merchandise is now available at the official Bonnaroo online store. The collection includes a “Virtual ROO-ALITY 2020” poster, a “Robe Rage” satin robe, a “Farm Fresh” 8 oz. Candle, a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, a tie-dye mask, and more. Virtual ROO-ALITY and the Bonnaroo Works Fund will look to raise awareness for the ALCU Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting civil rights, and Headcount, an organization that promotes participation in democracy through music. Fingerlakes Drive-In to host to Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in August

Central New York is blessed with another Drive-In concert this summer, as funky bunch Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will perform at Fingerlakes Drive-in on Friday and Saturday, August 15-16.

“Time To Drive-In” will offer fans the opportunity to safely enjoy a true live music event while following social distancing guidelines. A car pass provides a parking space for a standard passenger vehicle and entry for a maximum of four people per vehicle. Concertgoers will be able to enjoy two full sets, each night, with full concert production, in a socially distant manner.

Fingerlakes Drive-In is a classic drive-in that opened on July 15, 1947, and is the oldest operating Drive-In theatre in New York State. Tickets are now on sale at through Creative Concerts.

Brooklyn Bowl Celebrates 11th Anniversary

Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg is celebrating their 11^th Anniversary on FANS, this Friday, July 10. The livestream, fueled by Lagunitas, is set to feature 11+ hours of music with artists who’ve become Brooklyn Bowl family over the years: Tank and the Bangas, Big Freedia, Fantastic Negrito, Lotus, Soulive, Phil Lesh, and The Terrapin Family Band, The Soul Rebels, a tribute to Melvin Sparks ft. The New Mastersounds, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Anders Osborne ft. Scott Metzger, and more.

It’s Memorial Day weekend and typically, you might find yourself at a music festival to kick off summer. With COVID-19, the collective experiences are on hold for the year, but festivals are doing their best to provide fans with a bridge to the experience they look forward to all year. Summer Camp Music Festival, founded by moe. in 2001 is holding a Virtual Festival all weekend, with live performances, throwback highlights, new songs, interviews, panels, and much more to bring Scamp vibes to the Scamp family across the country.

Each day kicks off with OM On The River hosting Yoga. Then Scamp will dive into various panel discussions, artist retrospectives, and close it out with bangin’ late night sets from some of the your favorite performers over the years, including hosts moe., Umphrey’s McGee, Keller Williams, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle, Gov’t Mule and more. Live From Out There announces “Virtual Summer Tour Series” feat. Goose, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle

11E1even Group and Live From Out There have announced the initial schedule for their new “Virtual Summer Tour Series.” Fans of groups including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Goose, Twiddle, Kitchen Dwellers, Aqueous, Sunsquabi (with more to be announced) can look forward to original live music content with various aspects of the concert experience through digital platforms.

Over the summer, the multi-night virtual events will take place with fans having the chance and interact with bands like never before. Each artist has curated their own unique tour concept, merchandise and virtual VIP experience – which includes having a drink with the band, a post-show “green room” meet-and-greet or a private dinner with the band. The “Virtual Summer Tour Series” is designed to go beyond live performances and aims to replicate the intrinsic sense of community that concert-goers experience when attending shows in-person.

“With all of the uncertainty surrounding public gatherings, we look forward to providing artists with a new model for connecting with their fans in a digital space,” says Dave DiCianni of 11E1even Group. “Despite not being able to physically be in the same room, there’s a huge opportunity for artists to engage their fanbase in a truly unique and more intimate fashion than ever before, and we are excited to work with band’s in curating those experiences. Additionally, the series will provide acts and their respective crews with much needed revenue while the music industry works to determine new ways to safely host live events. “

Each artist will curate their own tour, with the first three series announced:

Twiddle’s Roots Tour, a celebration of the band’s fifteen years as a touring act, will pay homage to several establishments that were instrumental in the band’s ascendance to the national stage. The nine original concerts from July 9 to 26, will be filmed at various venues throughout the state of Vermont, including a return to Castleton University, where the band formed in 2005.

Following the postponement of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s annual festival Domefest, the band will bring their fans together for “Homefest,” a uniquely curated 3-night event starting June 11 and included 5 sets from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, with other acts to be announced.

Goose will host “Summer 2020 Bingo Tour” from June 19 to June 28 live at The Goose Community Rec Center. Fans will receive digital bingo boards filled with the band’s songs and cover material. The band’s performances will be dictated by bingo balls drawn on stage as fans at home can play along for a chance to win virtual VIP opportunities and merchandise.
