  • Alex Bay’s Riverboat Bar Announces Summer 2018 Lineup

    The Riverboat Bar announced their Summer 2018 Live Music Series. The fourth-annual live music series in Alexandria Bay, features national touring bands from around the Northeast — heavily focusing on promoting original music. There will be a total of 25 bands performing throughout the series — 14 returning and 11 new bands will make their debut. Most of the shows are free to attend.

    New this year will be a 1000 Islands concert cruise boat tour party. On Friday, Aug. 24, The Blind Owl band will perform two sets on the water from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The show will take place on one of Uncle Sam’s tour boat. This will be a ticketed event. Afterward, Folkfaces are set to play an afterparty at The Riverboat Bar.

    This weekend to close out June, Wild Adriatic performs Friday and Mike Powell & The Black River is to play Saturday.

    July’s bands includes: Aqueous; Broccoli Samurai; Formula 5; Funktional Flow; Balkun Brothers; The Melting Nomads; Chris James & Mama G; and Let’s Be Leonard.

    August’s bands include: The Old Main; The Northmen; and Adapter. Then coinciding with Alex Bay’s annual 10-day Bill Johnstons Pirate Days event, The Riverboat Bar booked Nina’s Brew, Gang of Thieves, Quantum Cosmic (featuring members of Annie in the Water, Lord Electro, Knot Dead and Raisin Head) and Barroom Philosophers.

  • Night Lights Music Festival 2018 Full Lineup Announced

    This year’s Night Lights Music Festival will feature music on three stages on the weekend of August 23-26, 2018. For the eighth year in a row, The Heron in the town of Sherman will be transformed into a spectacle of lights and sounds. The lineup includes the music of Lotus, Motet, Aqueous and more. Several tribute sets are also scheduled: Wild Adriatic (Led Zeppelin), Space Junk (Disco Biscuits) and Psychedelic Jukebox (paying homage to the history of psychedelic rock).

    Among the other acts are Wild Adriatic, Intrepid Travelers, Root Shock, lespecial, Folkfaces, and Danielle Ponder & the Tomorrow People. In addition to music, festival-goers will be able to enjoy camping, yoga, hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities. Local food and beverages and arts & crafts vendors will be on site. Early bird tickets are on sale now through the festival website. 

    The complete lineup includes: Lotus, The Motet, Aqueous, Octave Cat featuring Jesse Miller (Lotus), Eli Winderman (Dopapod), Charlie Patierno,  Anomalie, Tropidelic, Bumpin Uglies, lespecial, Pappy (of Cabinet), Wild Adriatic (Led Zeppelin Tribute), Upstate Rubdown, Boss Tweed and the Carpetbaggers, Gatos Blancos, Funktional Flow, Danielle Ponder & the Tomorrow People, Dynohunter,  Root Shock, Space Junk (Disco Biscuits Tribute), Holy Hand Grenade, Lazlo Hollyfeld, Intrepid Travelers, Folkfaces, Cold Lazarus, Psychedelic Jukebox, Cypher, Kaleidoscope Sky, The Good Neighbors, Able Footing, and Neon Veins.

  • Wild Adriatic celebrate their 1000th show on May 5 at Putnam Place

    Wild Adriatic will boldly go where few bands have gone before, as they’ll play their 1000th show together! To celebrate this milestone, they’ll be using Putnam Place’s video wall to present “Wild Adriatic Goes to Space,” part of a 75 minute nonstop set of space themed covers and Wild Adriatic originals. Toronto’s After Funk will kick things off at 9pm.

    In determining that this would indeed be their 1000th show, Wild Adriatic drummer Mateo Vosganian looked over the band’s spreadsheet a few months ago and his reaction was a bit of a surprise, as Vosganian puts it, “Oh Shit, haha it’s our 1,000th show soon! So we threw some ideas around about how to make it special. We’ve always wanted to go to space, so what better time than now?”

    Starting in 2011, Wild Adriatic has toured across the country, performed at countless festivals including Bonnaroo, and even have two tours of Europe under their belt. “Some of our 2011-2012 shows were a bit hazy on when/where/how but luckily digging thru emails and a few old booking spreadsheets helped me put it together. Google Docs is my savior.”

    “It’s also funny because even though we’ve played 1,000 shows I feel like we’re just getting started. Like this year we just figured out how to write songs together in a really meaningful way to the three of us. It’s sort of like these 1,000 shows have been preparation for the next step. We have a ton of new material we’re going to start unveiling in the next year and have a stacked summer tour ahead, so it’s just a really exciting time. Super happy to be able to celebrate with our family and friends in Saratoga, especially before the summer gets insane.”

  • The Yard Amphitheater at Ray Brothers BBQ Announces 2018 Summer Lineup

    Ray Brothers BBQ, located on State Route 20 in Bouckville, announced its summer 2018 concert schedule for The Yard Amphitheater, located on the grounds of the popular BBQ joint. The season kicks off on Memorial Day with the 3rd Annual Backyard BBQ & SPCA Benefit featuring the Lightkeepers and Mike Powell & the Black River. Tickets for the Memorial Day show are $10 with proceeds benefiting the SPCA.

    Other acts making their way to New York’s antique capital include Zach Deputy, Big Mean Sound Machine, Chris Eves & the New Normal, Hayley Jane & the Primates, Wild Adriatic, Sophistafunk, the Talking Heads tribute band, Start Making Sense and the 2017 NYS Music March Madness winner, Root Shock.

    The penultimate event on the calendar is the 4th Annual Hop Harvest Festival featuring Keller Williams. This takes place Labor Day weekend. Williams also performed at the Yard last year.

  • Proctors Hosts Beatles Themed Capital Records Live! at GE Theatre

    It was the perfect duo – a collection of the area’s best musicians and the iconic catalog of music from The Beatles –  together at Proctors for Capital Records Live! at the GE Theatre on Friday, March 23.

    Let’s Be Leonard, Wild Adriatic, the Bryan Brundige Collective, Girl Blue, Clear Mind and Eastbound Jesus each played songs from The Beatles (the White Album) and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Each had liberty to perform its own renditions of songs from both albums. Some tried to capture the song as people remember them, while others added a unique spin to a classic track.

    Capital Records Live

    Highlights from Capital Records Live! included Bryan Brundige Collective’s rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” Girl Blue welcoming the crowd to sing along to “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and the gratitude expressed by the audience as Clear Mind introduced a rap spin to the 50-year-old collection of songs.

    The Rochmon Record Club provided Beatles trivia and history with a video presentation. There were moments when members of each band would stop setting up their gear to read along on the large screen behind the stage as everyone learned more about The Fab Four.

  • Proctors announces new concert series, Capital Records Live 

    With a little help from world class musicians across the region, Proctors and WAIX 106.1 are teaming up to present a new concert series highlighting classic albums performed by local artists. Capital Records Live will debut on Friday, March 23 at 7:30pm in the GE Theatre at Proctors.

    Six bands from the greater Capital District will perform selections from The Beatles (The White Album) and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The lineup includes Bryan Brundige Collective, Clear Mind, Eastbound Jesus, Girl Blue, Let’s Be Leonard and Wild Adriatic, who will come together on stage to celebrate the work of the Fab Four. Additionally, Beatles trivia will be hosted by Chuck Vosganian of Rochmon Record Club.

    Attendees will experience distinct renditions of The Beatles’ most recognizable tracks. Sal Prizio, program coordinator at Proctors, explains “With CRL, our mission is to introduce music fans in this market, each year, to the abundance of great local music.” Tickets are on sale now at Proctors box office or online.
