Originally it was conceptualized as a double album. Petty is now considering performing <em>Wildflowers<\/em> the way it was originally intended\u00a0to be heard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-55150\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Kelli_Marsh_Tom_Petty-10011-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Kelli_Marsh_Tom_Petty-1001\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He recently sat with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/news\/tom-petty-considering-wildflowers-tour-in-2017-20160615\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>\u00a0for an interview and talked about how he&#8217;d like to regroup the Heartbreakers to play <em>Wildflowers<\/em> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>After 20 plus years fans are still eagerly waiting for an expanded version of Wildflowers. Petty has released some outtakes from sessions on the soundtrack She`s The One that came out in 1996. \u201cI think I put four of the [<em>Wildflowers<\/em>\u00a0outtakes] on the\u00a0<em>She\u2019s The One<\/em>\u00a0soundtrack just to fill out the album,\u201d Petty explained.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Petty has been against full album performances in the past but recently he\u2019s changed his tune. \u201cI\u2019ve changed my mind because nobody has ever done something like this where you\u2019re previewing the second part of a never-released album,\u201d Petty revealed. \u201cHow often does that happen? It\u2019s old and new at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for now there are no Tom Petty &amp; the Heartbreakers dates booked as the rocker focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/2016\/06\/10\/hearing-aide-mudcrutch-2\/\">Mudcrutch<\/a>.
