Steve Perry has finally broken his silence, with a call Friday to L.A. classic rock station <a href=\"http:\/\/thesoundla.com\/2015\/12\/mitm-clips-uncle-joes-birthday-with-steve-perry-and-billy-gardell\/\">KSWD.<\/a> In the interview, Perry reveals that he has been in the studio since March and hopes to have a new album completed for early 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-261180 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Steve-Perry.jpg\" alt=\"steve perry\" width=\"624\" height=\"420\" data-wp-pid=\"261180\" data-pin-nopin=\"nopin\" \/>The first public performance in 19 years from one of classic rock&#8217;s signature voices was captured in St. Paul, Minnesota and posted to YouTube by an Eels\u00a0fan. To date, the video has received over 2\u00a0million views. These fans may have the blossoming friendship between Perry and Eels frontman E (AKA: Mark Oliver Everett) to thank for the reclusive vocalist&#8217;s return.<\/p>\n<p>Perry and E are not only occasional stage mates, they have developed a true friendship over the years after being introduced by a mutual friend.
