In the week leading up to the show, weather reports were cautiously optimistic about keeping the day dry but a few heavy downpours dampened the outdoor festivities a bit. Fortunately, the music had shone through and kicked up the energy for the crowd that made it out to the free day of music.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_87826\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-87826\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-87826\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/S-Malinski-Paramount-HV-Phineas-and-the-Lonely-Leaves-22-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Phineas and the Lonely Leaves\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-87826\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Phineas and the Lonely Leaves<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The street stage, lined with food and craft vendors that braved the intermittent rain, featured a mix of solo singer-songrwriter type acts and full bands. Acoustic sets were presented by New York Times author and musician Andy Revkin, Chloe Cannon, Rufus Rufasu, and The Godfather Johnny Giovanni. Peekskill&#8217;s own Phineas and the Lonely Leaves gave a high-spirited mix of their original and rock cover songs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reverbnation.com\/trifectatheband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trifecta<\/a>&#8216;s set was mostly covers, but took on a stripped-down heavy blues\/rock take on classic rock songs complete with some added shred-talent on guitar. The final outdoor act of the day, <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/thenewresistants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Resistants<\/a>, played with a similar feel and energy to Trifecta, taking on a classic garage punk sound. A late addition to the schedule from North Carolina and familiar name to the area was the aggressive jazz trio <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joyonfire.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy On Fire<\/a>\u00a0who kicked off the afternoon.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_87952\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-87952\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-87952\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/S-Malinski-Paramount-HV-Trifecta-25-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Trifecta\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-87952\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Trifecta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kicking off the day inside was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iloveyardsale.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yardsale<\/a>, a brisk-paced bluegrass trio from nearby Mahopac, NY. The standout of the afternoon <a href=\"http:\/\/gedeonluke.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gedeon Luke &amp; The People<\/a> gave the Paramount a gossip-worthy set full of driving Memphis blues and soul, Gedeon himself dancing in the aisles with the crowd. For something a little bit different, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.djlogic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DJ Logic<\/a> gave a well-mixed DJ set, though a thin crowd seemed slow to get into the set. Closing out the night was NYC&#8217;s all-instrumental progressive jam band <a href=\"http:\/\/taukband.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TAUK<\/a> as they make their way through a tour supporting their brand new double live album,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/nysmusic.com\/site\/2015\/09\/06\/tauk-takes-headroom-on-the-road\/\">Headroom<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_87821\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-87821\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-87821\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.nysmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/S-Malinski-Paramount-HV-Gedeon-Luke-23-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Gedeon Luke\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-87821\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gedeon Luke<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Certainly a fantastic assortment of live music, let&#8217;s hope the End of Summer jam returns next year under sunny skies with a packed house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The weekend after Labor Day brought a wide variety of sounds to Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill with several NYC and Westchester-based acts both inside and outside the theater as part of their End of Summer Jam.
