1994 was a pivotal year for rock music. Rock and grunge ruled the charts, but mainstream metal was nowhere to be found. However, Biohazard\u2019s<\/a> career began to peak after the successful run of 1992\u2019s Urban Discipline <\/em>and exposure from the music video for \u201cPunishment\u201d on MTV\u2019s Headbanger\u2019s Ball.<\/em>\u00a0Biohazard<\/a> was the top act coming out of the New York City\u2019s hardcore scene and becoming one of Brooklyn\u2019s finest. But on May 24, 1994, State of the World Address<\/em> was unleashed to the masses that truly showcased Biohazard at their best.<\/p>\n

1State of the World Address<\/em> was produced by Ed Stasium, who is well known for his work with The Ramones and Living Colour. This album is loaded with brilliant rifts and guitar solos from Bobby Hambel. The duel vocals of Billy\u00a0Graziadei and Evan Seinfeld are raw, brutal, and heartfelt, especially on \u201cFailed Territory\u201d. Danny Schuler\u2019s drumming is bone crushing and brilliant. Just listen to \u201cTales From the Hard Side<\/a>,\u201d the beat to that song is just insane. Biohazard continued their trend cross over trend by bringing in Cypress Hill\u2019s Sen Dog for \u201cHow It Is\u201d which is real stand out on the album as well.<\/p>\n

Even to this day, the album\u2019s political views are still relevant, especially in \u201cRemember.\u201d The album really paints a picture on New York City street life with tracks like \u201cDown For Life,\u201d \u201cTales From The Hardside,\u201d and \u201cFive Blocks to the Subway\u201d (a\u00a0personal favorite). The album will get you amped up every time you listen. It\u2019s a must own album for any fan of metal or hardcore.<\/p>\n
