November 22 at The Egg<\/a> brings\u00a0The Tour\u00e9-Raichel Collective<\/a>\u00a0to the Swyer\u00a0Theater, part of the\u00a0Rhythm International concert series. Featuring Malian guitar virtuoso Vieux Farka Tour\u00e9<\/a> and Israeli superstar pianist\u00a0 Idan Raichel<\/a>, both of whom have developed an inspirational collaboration and artistic kinship that creates an intercultural free-form acoustic masterpiece, crossing boundaries of country, culture and tradition.<\/p>\n

\"toureOften referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara”, Vieux Farka Toure is known for\u00a0 his speed and dexterity on the guitar, and is considered one of world music’s true stars.\u00a0 Idan Raichel is a keyboardist, producer and composer known around the world for his ambitious cross-cultural collaborations that changed the face of Israeli popular music.\u00a0 Vieux Farka Tour\u00e9 and Idan Raichel met by chance, in 2008 at the Berlin airport, where they expressed mutual admiration and a desire to work together. Tour\u00e9’s father, the legendary Ali Farka Tour\u00e9, was one of Raichel’s musical heroes and the two went to Israel and recorded\u00a0The Tel Aviv Session<\/em>, which found musically beautiful common ground between the artist’s cultures.\u00a0 This was followed by The Paris Session<\/em> and international touring.<\/p>\n
